Ability to disable horizontal/vertical swiping

If this has already been requested, I apologize for the duplicate request. For those developers using DPS outsde of the magazine/publishing industry please make it possible to disable either horizontal or vertical swiping (or both) so that the user must utilize navigation created by the developer.

Sharing/Unsharing Apps in Folio Builder Panel - Tweaks

Adobe could help us out by cleaning up this Folio Builder panel feature.

Pasting a list of e-mail addresses has to be formatted juuuust right, otherwise it doesn't recognize them. When adding users it would be useful if there was some sort of memory/auto-fill that recognized previously added users from other folios. Perhaps a master list appears and we could just click to add users from that list. Showing the abbreviated address or name is also quite annoying (for example, when you add a user it formats the entry into a nice little "bubble" but truncates the info). Is this really necessary?

I was able to enter all the article properties directly into inDesign in the File >information window EXEPT the Kicker... where can we input the kicker info?

Android Native App external Banner URL

HI DPS Team,

we are trying to migrate the legacy app to native android.

In the legacy app there was a feature to include custom banner URLs for direct entitlement. In the native version not.

Can you tell me if feature this is on your roadmap?

Further Details:

We have set up an Entitlement Server, users can login within the banner and if successful get entitled.

The android native app should include this external banner url, user should be entitled and the app should load the entitled folios.

Can you tell me a way how to do this?

Clear cache for HTMLResources

I've come across the need to clear the cache for my HTMLResources folder.

At the moment, if I update the files in HTMLResources.zip and re-upload, it doesn't always pull the latest/current version of everything in there – presumably because some files have been cached and since they're of the same name, it doesn't bother updating them.

Removing the folio from the device and re-downloading doesn't work.

I did a quick search to find an answer and came up with this discussion. From the looks of things, the only way to clear the cache is to delete the Adobe Content Viewer app and reinstall it – and even then, it doesn't always work.

A clear cache function would be great to be able to properly test web content in folios.

Incedentaly when I did delete/reinstall the ACV app I didn't need to log in again... that's weird, right?

Can You Create a Creative Cloud-specific DPS Level?

I have been a Creative Cloud subscriber for over a year now as both a student and an educator and I have noticed one glaring thing wrong with including a subscription for DPS Single Edition for students (and small design & publishing houses/freelancers). In a nutshell, Single Edition is not enough to really launch people into Digital Publishing with the skills needed.

First and foremost SE is iOS-only. Because of Apple's refusal to allow 100% app devleopment/testing/signing on Windows, this requires students to own a Mac. While the program I teach in is done on Macintosh, about 75% of my students use Windows on their personal machines. Signing the apps using the lab computers would be a violation of the college Acceptable Use policies.

In addition, they need access to create content on Android, Windows, and Kindle Fire as well as most publications are at least on Apple/Android (and by extention Kindle) platforms.

My proposal is to create Digial Publication Suite Creative Cloud Edition. It would be just like Single Edition but allow for Multiple Folios that would allow entities to create digital publications and update them just like a real publication house such as Condé-Nast. Second, it would be available on all platforms allowing Windows users to utilize the subscription and also allow for them to prepare and test documents on multiple platforms. The third feature added would be limited analytics.

Thumbnail image does not appear

Hi,

Instead of writing this in the docs: "However, no thumbnails appear in articles that use the PDF image format", better yet place in the Thumbnail view a thumbnail image with crossed red diagonals and writing in the middle: "Not available for the PDF article format".

It could also have "Click to generate thumbnail from PDF. This will can take a few seconds" functionality.

Auto starting scrolling frame

Scrolling frames are great but cannot be autostarted. That means something like a long movie credit list, as far as I understand, can only be a movie that I prepare in Flash and takes a lot of memory.

I also tried via an external html page that does trigger scrolling text automatically in my browser, but the import into DPS does not work.

Unless I am maissing something?

Pan & Zoom going fullscreen

Hi there,

After having finished our first single-folio publication, there’s one thing I felt shy off in the Overlay Creator possibilities.

It would have been great to allow a pan & zoom frame to go fullscreen on tap. Such a feature being optional, it would allow either an in-frame pan&zoom-browsing of the image, or a fullscreen mode similar to the one available with video (with a ‘ok’ button appearing on tap and quitting the fullscreen mode). This would allow more flexibility in layouts, allowing thumbnails to lead to a fullscreen pan & zoom, thus profiting from the whole screen area and providing a more immersive experience.

For now, I have been playing with an ersatz for this, using MSO to get from a thumbnail to a fullscreen image (and you can’t zoom further in the big picture), but it turns out to be very heavy and having several of these work-arounds in an article can make the browsing very slow (on ipad rotation for instance).

I hope this is possible in a near future, for our next app perhaps…

Btw, thanks for all the work put in constantly improving the tools !
