Difficulties accessing local photos on Android

(Issue has affected users on Asus Transformer and Acer 500 tablets)

I am having problem accessing local photos: None of the photo available in the built in storage and SD card show up.

Is there a setting to set a default photo folders so be displayed? Or anybody else having the same device has the same problem?

I notice another issue also when uninstalling the apps, google automatically cancel the order and refund? and I am not able to repurchase and reinstall.

Any one who bought directly from Adobe, are you having the same issue?

My device is asus transformer TF101

Android Version 3.2.1

Build number: HTK75.US_epad-8.6.5.19-20111107

For the life of me, I cannot find where Photoshop Touch saves jpg files from the main intro page (the only place I've found to even save files).

I have a Transformer Prime TF201 tablet with all the latest updates. I also have a 32gb micro SD card installed as well as the 64gb of internal memory my TF201 has.

So, when I do go to save (export?) a photo project, Touch says "save to camera roll" which is fine; but

a) it's not in my standard camera rolls (either on the TF201's internal memory (DCIM and sub folders)

b) it's not in my micro SD card's camera roll (also a DCIM) directly.

I've tried opening and viewing every possible place it could be stored - Edited, Pictures, etc. Searched through both gallery app and Qpic app, can't find them.

Where the heck does Photoshop Touch save local jpgs after you've worked on an image?

And while I'm at it, why isn't there a dialog box to actually pick where you want to save files? The only options are "Save to Camera Roll" (not an option actually) and a pull down list to pick png or jpeg format. Would be nice to see a) select the directory you want, b) choose output image size as options.

It's a great app, but is missing a lot of basic stuff.

This is THE app I've been waiting for!

And first on Android - very chuffed, because I got my 1st Android phone days ago - the Galaxy Samsung Note - the size of which makes it super ideal for this kind of app!

However, it says on Android Market that Adobe Photoshop Touch is not compatible with this phone.

Can someone please confirm this? Or can Adobe let us know when it will be compatible?

How to Clean up a Background in Photoshop Touch

Remove unwanted background clutter while protecting parts of your image that you want to keep.

1. After selecting the "Clean up a Background" tutorial, press "Begin Tutorial" to start. Zoom in on the woman's head by placing your thumb and finger on the screen and spreading them apart.

2. Choose the Lasso Selection Tool.

3. Draw a selection around her head and upper right arm.

4. Choose Add to Selection and draw to select any areas that were missed.

Tip: All of the selection tools allow you to finesse your selections. Use the Add to Selection or Remove from Selection options to increase or decrease an existing selection.

5. Choose Select > Feather to soften the selection edge.

6. Use a value of 1 px to feather. Tap OK.

7. Tap Select > Inverse to protect the woman's head in the next few steps.

8. Zoom out on the image by placing your thumb and finger on the screen and pinching them in.

9. Choose the Clone Stamp tool.

10. Tap Source and tap once in the center of the water between the two men.

11. Use the Clone Stamp tool to cover the man and woman in the background. Reset the Source as needed.

12. Tap Select > Deselect

13. Tap the back arrow in the top options bar. This will prompt you to save. Press Save to save your project.

pressure sensitivity not working

When I check the pressure sensitivity for either size or opacity, it does not work. The brush size or opacity remains the same.

Greetings,

I purchased 'Adobe Photoshop Touch' on Google Play today (Wednesday 11th June 2014) and selected 'refund' after 4 minutes.

The reason I requestd a refund was that I confirmed a fault which another buyer had posted about, namely,

I was unable to export a picture (in jpeg OR png) from the PS touch gallery, as both file types could only be selected but not 'saved'.

This was because the export or save button was grayed out and was therefore inactive.

Having determined this to be a fault I hit the 'refund' button in google play on the PS apps page. (Approximately 4 minutes after the install)

This resulted in the removal of the app from my Android tablet, but NO reversal or refund has shown up.

In fact my bank account only shows the debiting of my money for this purchase.

Can anyone kindly inform me as to what has happened here?

How to add people to images in Photoshop Touch

Combine separate photos of people to make it appear as though they were together when the image was shot.

1. After selecting the "Add People to Images" tutorial, select Begin Tutorial to start. Tap on the top layer with the woman and the child.

2. Choose the Scribble Selection Tool.

3. Tap the Keep option under the tool. Paint along the edges of the woman and child.

Tip: When using the Scribble Selection tool, paint near the edges of the shapes you want to keep or remove. Once you have indicated both what you want to keep and remove, a selection is created. You can continue to refine the selection by using the Scribble Selection tool in either Keep and Remove modes.

4. Tap the Remove option and paint near the outer edges of the woman and child to deselect the trees.

5. Continue to Refine the selection by using the Scribble Selection tool in either Keep or Remove mode.

6. In the top option bar, tap Select > Feather

7. Set the Radius to 3 px. Tap OK.

8. Tap Edit > Extract to isolate the woman and child from the background.

9. Tap Select > Deselect. Tap the background layer to activate it.

10. Tap Effects > Basic > Gaussian Blur.

11. Set a value of 6 and tap OK.

12. Tap the back arrow in the top options bar. This will prompt you to save. Press Save to save your project.

Layers and Selections in Photoshop Touch

Learn the fundamentals about using layers and selections to create a photo collage.

1. After selecting the "Layers & Selections" tutorial, press "Begin Tutorial" to start. Tap the small circle on the blue tree layer thumbnail to hide it. Tap the circle again to show it.

2. Press and drag the blue tree layer thumbnail down below the red sand layer thumbnail.

Tip: Layer thumbnails are stacked from top to bottom. To change layer order drag layer thumbnails up or down in the stack. A white box around the layer thumbnail indicates the active layer.

3. Tap the red layer thumbnail to select it.

4. Tap the top of the toolbar and slide finger down to select the Marquee selection tool.

Tip: Tap the top of the toolbar to toggle between the current tool and other tools. Drag your finger through the tools to view and select them. Drag and slide right to select the nested tools.

5. Drag a tall thin rectangle on the right side of the image. The moving border indicates a selection.

6. Press and hold inside the selection, then slide around to reposition it in the upper right of the image.

Tip: When moving a selection, you are moving the selection area NOT selected pixels. To move the pixels in a selected area, use the Transform tool.

7. To remove the red image outside of the selection, tap Edit > Extract.

8. To deselect the area, tap once outside the selection or choose Select > Deselect.

9. Tap the blue layer thumbnail to make it the active layer.

10. Create a selection rectangle that is a bit too large. Tap the Remove from Selection Mode button.

11. Drag around the area of the selection that you want to trim away.

12. To remove the blue image outside of the selection, tap Edit > Extract

13. To deselect the area, tap once outside the selection or choose Select > Deselect.

14. Tap the top of the toolbar and slide finger down to select the Circle selection tool.

15. Tap the gray layer thumbnail to make it the active layer. Create a selection.

16. To create a soft-edged selection, you will "feather" it. Tap Select > Feather.

17. In the Feather dialog, move the slider left or right to affect the selection edge. Tap OK.

Tip: You can zoom in and out to view your image by placing two fingers on the screen. Pinch the fingers together to zoom out. Spread the fingers apart to zoom in.

18. To remove the gray image inside of the selection, tap Edit > Clear.

19. To deselect the area, tap once outside the selection or choose Select > Deselect.

20. Tap the back arrow in the top options bar. This will prompt you to save. Press Save to save your project.

Hallo,

Ich habe mir eine Mitgliedschaft in der Creative Cloud geholt und am PC funktioniert auch alles Super. Nur wenn ich mit dem Tablett über PS Touch auf die Creative Cloud sagt er mir ¨Serververbindung nicht Möglich¨.

Er zeigt mir aber an das ich 100 MB an Daten in der Cloud habe. Kann es sein das es daran liegt das mein PS Touch von Samsung vorinstalliert war?

Cannot import photos (start a project) on iPad Air

I Can no longer use this app. It's been broken for me for a while but I was hoping it would be patched. Basically, when I start a project all my photos seem to be available but the thumbnails are blank. Even if i click on a blank thumbnail it cannot load the file. Any pointers? PS: if anyone is considering "contact support" don't. There isn't any. You will trudge through options etc and it will send you back here

I had to reload my Galaxy Note 10.1 (first edition) a couple weeks ago. I just noticed the PS Touch is not installed, so I tried going to Google Play to restore it, and found it asking me to pay $9.99.

I wasn't aware that I would have to pay for an app that came installed on my device, but it's not showing up in my My Apps listing anymore either. What gives? This wasn't a "subscription" I bought, it was software packaged with my device. I should have access to the old version, at least.

Is there any way for me to get the app back without paying for it? If not, well, good luck, guys... the "Express" version is not nearly compelling enough for me to make a decision about whether the newer version of Photoshop Touch is worth $10, when I have plenty of other options for tablet-art available.

How to replace colors in Photoshop Touch.

Change the color of an object while retaining its texture, shading and detail.

1. After selecting the "Replace Colors" tutorial, press "Begin Tutorial" to start. Tap the tool bar and scroll to the magic wand tool.

2. Tap Tolerance. Increase tolerance to 70% to prevent edge artifacts.

Tip: To type numbers instead of using a slider, tap the number field to display a number keypad. Enter the numbers and tap the checkmark to complete.

3. Tap the red area of the sign to select it.

4. Tap the Add to Selection icon. Tap the areas inside the "O" and the "P" to add them to the selection.

5. Tap Adjustments > Color Balance.

6. Enter Red= -100, Green= -100, Blue= 100. Tap OK.

7. Tap Select > Deselect.

8. Tap the back arrow in the top options bar. This will prompt you to save. Press Save to save your project.

I know this is an old question, but with Android devices outselling apple devices and technology advancing in Android faster than Apple, why is it Adobe is abandoning touch apps for Android? My Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 and Galaxy Note 3 are perfect for that app. There are more filmmakers and designers using Android powered products out there than people realize. So, please, Adobe, give us these apps. Especially if you are developing apps in the same way you allow us to develop, there should be NO REASON for you not to be able to flip a switch and spit out an Android version.

That being said... I still love and support you.

Facebook access problems?

Hello there,

I am using PST on my UNrooted, pretty much brand spankin' new Asus Transformer TF101 and, frankly, it runs beautifully. There are a few hiccups here and there but nothing I can't live with. Except...

I have never gotten the "Facebook part" of PST working. I can sign into FB and am greeted with a huge blank-white popup that simply says "Success" in the upper left-hand corner in black system text. It just "looks" very sketchy--most NON-Adobe looking! From here the only place to go is the close button to close the popup.

Needless to say, if I try to publish to FB--big white pop-up with "Success" in the upper-left appears. The image does NOT get published to Facebook.

And photo access, that's interesting too! When I go to open a photo and choose to open from Facebook (which, I assume, shows me my current FB photos? I haven't gotten it to work yet!) guess what happens? Yep...a big white pop-up with "Success" in the upper-left appear appears yet again, yet I am never greeted to images.

Well, the good thing is that it's saying "Success" instead of "Failure" or "You're a compleat n00b idiot." That has to count for something... ;')

Adobe, a little help here?

I was so excited to start photoshop on my ipad.i am already regrettinng it as i seem to have lost 2 hrs of work:( I hope someone can tell me why i am getting the above message when i try to open the very first project i created using photoshop touch on my ipad5, i have 30.5 GB available, have used around 8 layers in my project with blend modes on almost everyone of them.

How to create a Smooth Image Blend with Photoshop Touch

Combine two photos seamlessly using a gradient within the Add Fade feature. You control where the fade starts and stops.

1. After selecting the "Add Dramatic Flare" tutorial, press "Begin Tutorial" to start. Tap the top layer and choose Add Fade from the & menu.

2. Drag the top gradient handle down to the middle of the image.

3. Tap the Edit Gradient button. Adjust the fade opacity by dragging the gradient stops. Tap OK.

4. Select the background layer and choose Adjustment > Color Balance

5. To match the top layer's light quality, increase the Red value by about 10%. Tap OK.

6. Tap the back arrow in the top options bar. This will prompt you to save. Press Save to save your project.

I always use photoshop on my PC and i am thinking of getting an IPAD.

Photoshop Touch looks good but there a few tools that i cant find much info about online, so please help of you can.

I would like to use it for fashion and beauty images so i need to do the following things......

Make bodies slimmer/wider (i usually use liquify/bloat/shrink for this, im worried that if i use 'warp' it will look gimmiky and too extreme but i still want it to look quite natural.
Make skin texture smoother manually (like blur tool)
Make eyes and teeth whiter manually (to look natural not gimmiky)

Please help if you can and let me know what tools i can use for this in Photoshop Touch on IPAD.

Hello, Here is the sequence of my steps I do up to when I get the problem. I click on upload to creative cloud in ps touch, then I select files to upload, all fine, then I put in my email and password - I have no problem with them, they work fine, I checked on the website. Right after it should sign me in, I get this message: lost connection. please check your connection and try again. My internet connection is working very fine at the moment I sign in through ps touch - keep that in mind. This message keeps showing each time I try to sign in. I have no idea what is wrong. Please help me!

I can't use creative cloud on photoshop touch app on android anymore. I really want to know why this happens. I can log in and upload, or download files to cloud by web but I still can only see the message 'cannot connect to server'

Smudge tool darken colors

This issue have been reported since mid-2012. An Adobe staff in this forum wrote in October 2012 : "this is a known issue, we're working on it". Well 2 years later it is still the same.

Digital painters use smudge as much as the brushes. It is THE ultimate tool for quick painting. How can a known bug of that importance stay unfixed for two years ? Autodesk is the giant of 3D, Adobe the giant of 2D. Who am I going to ask to get this solved ?

Ignacio, the Adobe staff who made the above statement said it was due to hardware limitations. Infinite Painter runs on the same OS and they managed pretty well...

I love Photoshop, I'm now 3D modeling on Android with Spacedraw (cf. First full-featured 3d-modeling software for Android tablets - Polycount Forum) but I still can't make hand-painted textures because of a bug know and "being worked on"...

Any news on the issue and a possible update that'll fix it soon would be welcome.

Photoshop Touch projects do not sync back to Creative Cloud files

Using current versions of Photoshop Touch on iPad and Creative Cloud on iMac. Touch Apps plugin is installed on iMac. But new projects created in PS Touch never sync back to the CC. They show the little horizontal progress bar near the bottom of the project's thumbnail, but there is never any progress. Is this because currently CC file/desktop sync is not available or is there another explanation that will allow me to perform the sync function?

Paint with effects with Photoshop Touch

Make the subject of your photo really stand out by painting your images with special effects.

1. After selecting the "Paint with Effects" tutorial, press "Begin Tutorial" to start. Tap and drag to select the Effects paint tool.

2. Tap Mode > Effect to paint with an effect instead of color.

3. Select the Black & White effect

4. Reduce the brush size to about 30

5. Paint everything but the horse to make the entire background black & white.

6. Now select the Saturation effect.

7. Increase the saturation to 100%. Tap OK.

8. Paint only the horse with the saturation effect to enhance its color.

9. Tap the back arrow in the top options bar. This will prompt you to save. Press Save to save your project.

I currently use PSTouch on my Xoom wifi and have the latest version. I am running ICS 4.0.4 and can no longer see any local files using PSTouch. I have tried all the normal procedures (I am a Xoom power user) including uninstalling and reinstalling PSTouch. Still cannot see any local files at all. I can see my files if I upload them to the Cloud.

I can take pictures with PSTouch and they are in the project but they cannot be copied, moved or imported into another project.

The 1.6 update to the Adobe Photoshop touch app has fixed the crashing issue when trying to sync with the creative cloud. However, for me all is still not well. After I have worked on a pre-existing file in the Photoshop touch app and synced with the creative cloud, I get an explanation point to the left of the file name and not a check. The blue line goes across the file and it says that the sync is complete in the drop-down menu. When you check the file in the creative cloud it hasn't synced. In order to get the change made to the file saved to the creative cloud, I have to rename the file. Is this the way the syncing is intended to work after this update? Am I really suppose to rename the file every time I make a change and want to sync to the creative cloud? Am I really supposed to have to archive and then delete the previous files that did not reflect the change in the creative cloud? Would someone from Adobe please respond?

Galaxy tab 3 issues?

Hi there. I have a samsung tablet, galaxy tab 3 7" (sm-t210) and like others, i got issues with some filters and effects or adjustments. The issue is that these filters do not work, or at least thei are invisible when applied to an image. There are some questions about this on the forum but there is no solution or answers yet. Will you, adobe, eventually fix this problem? I just made a list including all the effects and adjustments affected, so you can check them

Drawing a solid line with brush tool (no antialiasing)

I draw a picture in Photoshop Touch with the brush tool. No soft edge on the lines.

Once I loaded the finished pic into Photoshop (without resizing it), I zoomed in on the lines, and they aren't solid black. How do I get the brush to draw solid black lines, without antialiasing?

How to Add a Tattoo in Photoshop Touch

Add a tattoo by transforming and applying a simple graphic to any area of skin in a photo.

1. After selecting the "Add a Tattoo" tutorial, press "Begin Tutorial" to start. The top layer of this image isn't visible. Tap the target icon on the layer to make it appear.

2. The tattoo graphic is too large. Tap Transform to scale and rotate the graphic.

3. Drag any of the frame handles to reduce the size of the graphic.

4. Drag the center of the graphic to move it onto the arm.

5. Grab the rotate handle and rotate to match the angle of the arm. Tap OK.

6. Tap Layer properties and change the blend mode to Darken.

Tip: When choosing the Darken blend mode, only the darkest pixels in the graphic layer and the layer beneath will show. The white pixels on the graphic layer are still there but they are invisible in Darken mode.

7. To enhance the tattoo effect, reduce its opacity to about 70%.

8. Tap Layer properties again to close the dialog and evaluate your work.

9. Tap the back arrow in the top options bar. This will prompt you to save. Press Save to save your project.

Hello, I am very new to Ps Touch. Can someone explain how to use the glow function? Each time I do, i get the message "this filter needs transparent pixels." Not sure what to do, please help.

Samsung Galaxy note 10.1, photoshop 1.3 update

Regarding a previous post I have a samsung galaxy note 10.1. It has photoshop touch 1.2 preloaded from the deal between Samsung and Adobe. The license was not purchased from the google play store, so how can it be updated to the new 1.3 version. Since the play store wants you to pay for it? I have already spent 2 days contacting the google play store, samsug support and adobe support. No one seems to have any answers.
