Responsible HTML5: I can't scroll through the content (iOS 8.1).

I generate Responsible HTML5 outputs, that using template "Theme3_Black".

When I browse outputs with mobile Safari (iPhone 5S, iOS 8.1), i can't scroll through the content.

Is that bug?

If I want to create a template for a new multiscreen responsive layout in RoboHelp 11 HTML 5, for example one that does not have a sidebar separating the TOC from the documentation, what basic changes should be made to the project environment? Is it just a matter of making changes to the CSS and JS files? If so, which ones? Pardon my ignorance.

Bizarre section URLs in Responsive Layout after upgrade to 11.0.3

The following problem has hit my RoboHelp after upgrading v11 to the latest patch 3:

When I generate a Responsive HTML5 layout, section URLs get weirdly formatted in a browser (tried both Firefox and Chrome). This does not seem to be project-specific, because the same problem happens when I generate even the standard out-of-the-box projects like Salesbuilder2 and EmployeeCare2.

Here is what happens:

For example, a link to:

file:///D:/!!!/EmployeeCare/Employee_Care/Introduction.htm

opens the following browser URL:

file:///D:/!!!/EmployeeCare/index.htm#t=Employee_Care%2FIntroduction.htm

or, say, a link to:

file:///D:/!!!/EmployeeCare/Employee_Care/HR_Policies/Attendance.htm

opens as:

file:///D:/!!!/EmployeeCare/index.htm#t=Employee_Care%2FHR_Policies%2FAttendance.htm

I hope the screenshot below illustrates what I mean:

The links still work, but I really like my URLs human-readable. When I roll back to the previous version of RH, the problem disappears. Any ideas what might be causing it?

Button Sizes

RH11 | WebHelp

Does anyone know how to change the button sizes for the images used in the Function bar and Sidebar? The Layout Customisation screen states the images must be a certain size (e.g. 30x22 pixels) but I want to use my own sized buttons which are 84x42 pixels. I also want to remove the padding around the buttons. I've had a look in main.css, but I can't find anywhere that controls this. It must be "baked" into the responsive layout somewhere.

Responsive HTML5 TOC in generated output not staying in sync with selected subfolder

We have a project that we recently upgraded from Robohelp 8 to RoboHelp 11. We decided to generate Responsive HTML5 output for the project. It is a multi-language project as well. We support 19 languages. Each topic file has text in it in each of the languages and marked with a conditional build tag for each language. We have a TOC and Glossary file for each language. When I generate each language's help file and then view it in a browser, the the English TOC seems to work fine. You can click on folders and sub-folders and topics within the sub-folders and it seems to keep the TOC in sync with the topic I am viewing. But if I view one of the language help files, say German or Danish, when I click around in the TOC, the topics I click on show up in the right pane, but the focus in the TOC pane is not highlighting the selected topic. It seems like the focus has moved to something else, though nothing is highlighted. I am confused what is different between the different language help files TOC. Are there settings or ways to make sure the TOC is synchronized all the time?

Issue with titles in Multiscreen HTML5

I am using RH10, as part of the TCS4.

I am currently creating/ customizing screen layouts Android phone, Android Tablet, and Desktop for use in our team.

Generally, our course titles are a bit long. Obviously, this won't look good in phone and tablet layouts. As a workaround, we are thinking of having different course titles for each layout (basically, a shorter version). Please suggest the best and easiest way to do that? As far as possible, I am looking for some solution where my users should change the name in one place, say a variable, and it is reflected in all pages of a particular layout. For example, I will give them a variable Phone_Course Title. They need to enter the value there and it is updated in all pages of the Android Phone layout.

But I don't see a way to do it using User Defined Variables or Fields.

Since many of our users are new to RH, I don't want them to fiddle around too many things here. Of course, that would also mean less issues to tackle for me.

If this is not possible, is there a way I can set the placeholder to "Shrink to Fit" so that irrespective of the text length, the placeholder adjusts the font size to accommodate the text?

How can I insert a unicode character into a CSS style to replace a wingdings character?

Hello, all,

I am generating the multiscreen HTML5 help and am working on a new layout. We have been testing the layout in Chrome, Internet Explorer and Firefox, and everything seems to work well with one exception. One of the paragraph styles is a list that uses a wingdings character for the bullet/icon (Folder Open). Since Firefox doesn't recognize wingdings, the character appears as a "1" instead of the folder. Is there a way I can modify the style to use a unicode character instead?

Here is what the style creation looks like in the RH10 CSS editor:

When you view the CSS code, the three circled lines on the left are added to the p.Notes style. In addition, the rt-list.rl-P-Note style is created, showing the formatting for the bullet/icon:

Also, if I look at an element using the p.Note style in the output, here is the generated code:

The CSS style editor inside RoboHelp doesn't allow me to switch the font class when creating the style, so I'm hoping there's a way I can edit the code directly. I have the information for a unicode character I think will work, but can't figure out exactly where to place it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Remove Page Title from Search Results Context

Hey guys,

I am working with the multiscreen HTML5 output.

On each of my topic pages, I use the Robohelp widget to include the topic title. This works nicely enough.

However, in the search results, this topic title gets put through as part of the text preview, so for each search rersult, I end up with:

Topic Title

URL

Topic Title Topic Text

Is there a way to stop this from happening, so I can get this:

Topic Title

URL

Topic Text

Appreciate any insight you can provide.

Multiscreen HTML5 Map ID file: loadcsh.js - rhmapno parameter is converted to uppercase and CSH not working

Our developer is reporting that RoboHelp 11 is converting the parameter rhmapno to uppercase RHMAPNO in the loadcsh.js Multiscreen HTML5 output file, and the CSH is not working (see below from the file).

Is anyone else having this problem and can suggest a solution?

Settings for Native Mobile App

I'm using RoboHelp 11 to generate a native mobile app for Android.

In the Generate Native Mobile App dialog box, I've downloaded PhoneGap, Android SDK, JDK, and Apache Ant. I've then used paths that I think would work. Here's a screen shot:

When I attempt to generate the file, I see an error (below).

Can you please recommend the exact path? I've looked at your documentation(Adobe RoboHelp 11 * Generate a native mobile app) and Tom Aldous's YouTube video (How To Create Android App From Your Training and Technical Manuals - YouTube). Does it matter where I download the files? Is RoboHelp 11 just compatible with certain versions of these downloads?

RH 11 Imported Screen Layout Not Displaying in Gallery

Began using a trial of RH11 today and am experimenting with Responsive HTML5. I am trying to understand how to use a newly downloaded/imported screen layout while setting up a new single source Responsive HTML5 layout. I downloaded the screen layout from the Adobe site, which was a single file in a zip file. I unzipped the layout file to the same download folder and imported the extracted file into the Screen Layouts folder in the Project Set-up pod within RH11. Then while working in the Responsive HTML5 Settings window, clicked Gallery and expected to see the newly imported layout as an option there. The layout does not display. The layout name does display under the Screen Layouts folder folder in Project Set-up though.

How do I get the layout to display in the Gallery? I am wondering if I extracted the layout file to the wrong location? Does it have to be extracted to a folder within my project files such as the SSL folder or within the folder to which the RH11 trial software was installed? I assumed the Import process in Project Set-up would copy the layout file to wherever it was needed for it to work in Robohelp.

4/3 addition to original post -- adding a picture for reference regarding where I can't get the new layout to show. WIthout it showing here, how would I go about assigning the layout to my single source layout?

How do I add a repeating background image (not logo) to the layout found in RoboHelp 11 Responsive HTML5?

Is this something that has to be done inside of Dreamweaver?

Where are the RoboHelp 11 Responsive HTML 5 default themes (skins) stored on the computer?

I have seen the following files in RoboHelp 11 and would like to know if it is possible to edit

these files?

Search Results are cut off in Google Chrome

Has anyone seen the Search Results list cut-off when using Google Chrome? The Search Results screen works as expected in IE and Firefox, but Chrome cuts the list off at result item #7. I am using RH 10 multiscreen layout. Additionally, my TOC has extra spacing when the search results are returned (as soon as I cick a topic, the TOC returns to its normal spacing). Did I inadvertently modify a setting?

Why are my graphics stretched when publishing to SharePoint and view in IE9?

Hello All,

If I publish my project to SharePoint, and view output in IE9 then the graphcis are stretched. I had assumed that this is because RH is squeezing the project between the SP elements, but the graphics look fine when I view the same output from FF17.

The image above is how it appears in IE. Again, it looks fine FF. Any ideas?

Details: RH10 and SP2010. Graphics used are .jpg and .png.

Windings symbols not displaying in Android/Ipad output display

Our online help contains quite a few arrow symbols (refer image below) to describe program menu paths.

Our documentation is authored in word and imported, the arrows are a result of typing --> (which converts to the Windings font arrow symbol you see below).

In the roboHelp HTML View it looks like this: à

The arrow symbols are displaying correctly when viewing output on a pc, however on the iPad they are displaying à instead of the arrow.

Any ideas?????
