Bug:

If there is no price added to the product the Liquid Tag, Similar to the normal Price tag renders out:

If a product does not have a price entered, having the system code render should not be the default output.

Major Bug: CRM Import and Date Custom Field

Hi Guys,

This one really got me working but few tests proves it's a major bug that needs fixing asap I guess?

Two major issues here: (Custom Field Date & Time)

Issue 1:

1. I added a Date & Time Custom field to the CRM

2. Using a CSV file through Import/Advanced, I had the date 02-Jan-2010

3. The field in the CRM shows 01-Feb-2010

Issue 2:

Some records in the CRM had already dates filled in "this custom Date & Time" field.

If we try to update the records due to a change, the field simply becomes blank regardless of what we do.

Can you guys look into this please?

Checking Contents of Shopping Cart using Liquid

Using Liquid is it possible to check what items are in the shopping cart? If so can someone point me in the right direction?

Basically what I am looking to achieve is when a page loads check to see if certain items are in the shopping cart. If they are in the shopping cart I do something otherwise I do something else. If I can check quantities, even better.

I am still working to grasp everything liquid. =>

Bug 1: SEO Fields

In the old editor, if you have a meta description or title, the related fields take on those values respectively whether you keep the Doctype, html, body and head tags or not. This new one doesn't.

With a little experiment, I have pasted a full page with Doctype, html, body and head + meta description and title. The respective fields didn't take them.

Bug 2: Content disappearing (major)

This is very fascinating

Paste some content in the editor, whether with or without the SEO elements, then click on the meta description multiline - (you'll see the content gone). But even the weird thing is that you click on title field, the content may come back.

Keep switching between the editor, meta description and title (by clicking on them). And you'll see the content coming and going.

Here's an example:

1. I added the title and description manually, then added the paragraph

2. I clicked on the title field (nothing happens yet - go to next image)

3. I clicked on the description (content was gone)

4. I click back on title, the content comes back

And if you keep switching between the fields and the editor and change things around, things just keep getting weirder and weirder. They take turns on which will remove content

But the thing is, whether the content disappears or not by doing this exercise, if you click Update, it will save the content. But then if I paste content to update the existing content and do the same exercise as above, the new content does NOT save, and the old content is retained.

Does CRM API v3 support Extended CRM fields at this time?

I have the following liquid code in a template:

{% case item.zoneId %}

{% when '13435' %}

{% assign wholesaler = 'True' %}

{% when '51' %}

{% assign customer = 'True' %}

{% endcase %}

Then elsewhere I have the following liquid:

{% if wholesaler == 'True' %}

<p>Text to display for wholesale secure zone.</p>

{% endif %}

{% unless wholesaler == 'True' %}

<p>Text for everyone else.</p>

{% endunless %}

The above code works great if inserted into a page. If I insert the code into a content holder and/or a layout (in my case the Large Product Layout) it doesn't work.

I assume this is simply a limitation currently but I thought I would ask in the event it could be a bug.

Thoughts?

faq limit issue when selecting from a specific category.

Hi,

I am struggling with putting a limit onto FAQ listing when I select it from a category.. the module doesn't give an option to limit when category is selected, it shows all the listing of FAQs when categoty is selected

Please help or if you have an idea to workaround it please let me know.

Editor fixes should be a bit of a priority

Hey BC team,

I know you are flat out with a million and one things to do, but I think the editor needs to be a bit of a priority in addressing the issues and some of the bits missing from it.

Why?

For you, it may not seem a priority over liquid, API things etc, but since you guys have set BC.Next live for new stuff, especially with Muse people are using the editor to make content and having a variety of issues, many already covered as bugs and issues in the developer forums. This is an issue.

I have seen several forum threads in just the last two week in regard to the editor, I first was telling people they turned on the beta, most had not and I realised and remembered the cases you guys have all this on. Such people will not be using liquid and so wont encounter those issues, but the extra paragraphs and breaks, a few missing features, the class dropdown not working and the other bugs and issues are causing people issues.

You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.

Open Platform Web App Load Time

My devs have created a custom web app using Open Platform - the idea to search, sort, duplicate web app items

Problem, it takes 25 seconds to load up 700 web app items.

Is this normal ? Should it be better ? Is this a BC issue or developer issue. I've no idea, I'm just a marketing chap.

In-Context Editor can't handle implicit index.html

The In-Context Editor can't handle implicit index.html - e.g., when a menu link points to /subfolder/ with a file named index.html inside, the link works fine on the front-end but In-Context Editor users get a 404 Page Not Found error.

Naively, it appends .htm to the folder, producing an invalid url like this: /subfolder/.htm

The workaround is to explicitly include the filename in the link like /subfolder/index.html, but this is undesirable.

Anyone else been bitten by this?

reCaptcha tag fails verification, "ReCaptchaAnswer" and "ReCaptchaChallenge" fields are empty in POST request

When using a {module_recaptcha} tag in a BC form, the POST request will always fail with the response "ERROR: An error occurred. Image verification failed. If you believe this is incorrect, please contact your system administrator or go back and re-submit the form." if this line of Javascript is not present in the checkWholeForm___() function:

if (theForm.CaptchaV2) why += captchaIsInvalid(theForm, "Enter Word Verification in box below", "Please enter the correct Word Verification as seen in the image");

Because, innocuous as it seems, it actually has the side effect of changing the contents of the ReCaptchaAnswer and ReCaptchaChallenge fields generated by the reCaptcha widget. Check out in /CatalystScripts/ValidationFunctions.js.

Just thought I'd post this so there's something about it for search engines to find...

New modules converted to liquid:
- Module_adrotator
- Module_searchresults
New functionality added to liquid:
- Added support for the “raw” liquid tag:
  - Raw temporarily disables tag processing. This is useful for generating content which you do not need interpreting or which uses conflicting syntax.
    - {%raw%} This entire content will not be executed: {{this}} {%endraw%}
- Ability to pass optional parameters to any module
  - You will be able to do things like:
    - {module_contentholder id=”123” param1=”value1” param2=”value2”}
    - And in the content holder you will be able to access param1 and param2 by using the {{this.params }} object: {{this.params.param1}}, {{this.params.param2}} (or directly {{params.param1}})
- Ability to pass liquid variables as parameters to any module
  - In the parameters of any module you will be able now to pass in any liquid variable like this:
    - {{module_contentholder id=”{{this.globals.get.contentHolderID}}”} or
    - {{module_json data=”mydata.json” template=”template_{{this.globals.get.contentHolderID}}.html”}}
- Added support for liquid filters in variable assignment

401 - Unauthorized after last nights updates

I have checked the new rules, I have checked menu.json even reverted it to basic. And I have refilled in the licence in the partner portal but my app is getting

401 - Unauthorized

Last night it work fine have been getting this error all morning. Am I missing something. I have seen in the my app section under the app the urls are missing.

Developers: Do not try to form your own attribute output

This is for partners and developers.
This is just a post to save you some time.

A product output on the large layout will include attributes, but you can not form your own loop through on them. IT is an odd format and a few tricky things to get them to output but it is possible but for radio and checkboxes they need the attribute group ID, this is not exposed at this time so they will never be added into the product as part of the product.

I have passed info on to the BC engineers, but until it is changed, do not waste time trying it

Just a friendly post to save you some hassles trying when it wont work just yet.

This produces the wrong output:

{% if 1 <= 2 %}

My guess is it has something to do with escaping it because >= seems to works fine although I haven't fully tested it.

Outputting Individual Product Quantities with Liquid

I have 3 products in a shopping cart and I looped through them all to output the values for the quantity of each product in the cart.

BUG : Template Secure Base URL Bug

Hi Guys,

If you login to the Admin on a secure URL and preview a template, the base url generated is http://domainname.worldsecuresystems.com

This must be updated to render https.

Can you guys give an ETA on this please? As clients use our apps on a secure domain, if they edit their site and preview their templates, they keep calling us that there is something wrong with the site.

Aggressive caching within BC?

Is anyone else experiencing intermittent overly aggressive caching of CSS & JS files by BC? E.g., the changes I make to the this .js file over SFTP don't propagate to the front end until I change the url params. The text on line 2 (after the comment opening) varies on each of these files:

It's not browser caching, as it happens across browsers.

It's not being cached by the PC, as it happens on the VMs I use for browser testing, and other PCs in the office.

It's not being cached by our ISP, as it's visible on the BrowserStack VMs.

It doesn't seem to affect all files.

Any clues? It's annoying to have to change the fetch URL for every change I want to test.

Pages APIs Bugs

I thought I'll start a new one with this as my first post went off topic a bit.

In the Pages API documentations, few sample codes has a url : /webresources/api/v3/admin/sites/current/pages it suppose to be /webresources/api/v3/sites/current/pages (without admin dir).

Also if you load the list of pages, some very old deleted pages may still appear such as the default Home Page index.htm (coming soon).

javascript templating conflict wiht BC.Next

After I enable liquid rendering the handlebars template we use to render certain external json data to the page gets broken.

For eg:

renders as :

with the root missing after #each and thus rendering no data and giving a plugin error.

Clients always want to embed video into their websites.

This is something the old editor did support but never was activated on BC.

This would solve a lot of in content formatting limitations BC currently has.

Clips could be something specified in the partner portal tools or a series of .tpl files. This looks straight forward to install but would allow some great snippets to be created and allow clients to use them and not have to format things so much. These would include custom separators, highlighted content, styled tables etc.

3. Partner access to editor?

With the API support and plugin abilty of the editor, maybe you could give partners access via the partner portal to allow us to put in some of the things we may want to add to the editor?

4. Colour Picker Option in Colour choices

5. Subscript, Superscript options

In the pages API > first Sample code has a url : /webresources/api/v3/admin/sites/current/pages it suppose to be /webresources/api/v3/sites/current/pages (without admin dir). Also now that the Pages APIs are exposed, it would only make sense to have the Menus APIs exposed too. Any near plans for that?

We would like to make an improvement on the liquid’s syntax for the module’s named parameters and we need some input from you. We talked with a few of you “live” at Adobe MAX about this, and we would appreciate some input from more of you.

How to specify if the module’s output is suppressed or not?

Current syntax is, for the module_webapps for example:

{module_webapps id="stores" filter="all" template=""}

Basically, specifying an empty template will suppress the output of the module and will capture the module’s data in a variable who’s name it’s auto-generate. For example, creating a page with the following code will suppress the output of the module and generate a variable in the page called “webapps_0” what contains all the data generated by the webapps module (you will see this information in the “this” variable outputted as JSON).

This syntax can be confusing, so we would like to change this into:

How to specify the variable in which a module data is captured?

For the above example, if we would like that the data is not captured in a automatically-generated variable, currently you have to do it like this, using the “collection” parameter.

This can also be somewhat confusing, so we would like to replace with:

{module_webapps id="stores" filter="all" render=”nothing” var=”myStoresVar”}

How to specify how to render a module that renders a list of data?

Currently the template you specify to the webapp module specifies how to render a single-item of data. So if I had a module in a page like this:

{module_webapps id="stores" filter="all" template="/before-after/item.tpl"}

And the item.tpl would be:

The item.tpl would contain the template of a single item and the module would loop through every record resulting in an output like:

Notice that comment at the beginning of the template. That instructs BC that the template is not for a single item, but for the entire list, and so you get access to the ”items” of the collection so that you can control the loop yourself.

The usage of the comment can also be confusing and more difficult to understand so we would propose not to use a comment in a template but use the same render=”” parameter, but with another value:

{module_webapps id="stores" filter="all" render=”collection” template="/before-after/list.tpl"}

And remove the comment from list.tpl:

What do you guys think?

In this way we would have a consistent and simple way to define how a module is being rendered and how:

{module_webapps id="stores" filter="all" render=”collection” template="/before-after/list.tpl”} to get access in the module to the entire collection to loop through the items ourselves or

{module_webapps id="stores" filter="all" render=”item” template="/before-after/item.tpl”} to define only how every item looks and have the module loop for me (render=”item” would be by default to insure backwards compatibility, and in the template I am able to access the values directly).

Any thoughts on this?

New Render engine and google

The new render engine seems faster and I like that. But I just for interest sake I tested the new render engine with Google page test. Now I thought that one of the thing people complained about was Google complaining about leveraging browser caching and spitting up warnings regarding no expiration date set. It is still doing this. Google seems to place large importance on this and the expiration date. Question is this relevant or something to ignore?

I am using liquid to modify simple modules to look the way I need them to. i have for example changed the shopping cart summery to only show the item count which works great:

What is the syntax for accessing webapp fields such as "Customer Surname", when using Liquid Collections?

The old syntax allowed syntax like {tag_Customer Surname}, but I can't seem to find the equivalent for Liquid.

At first try new render engine works great guys nice and fast thanks for the hard work.

Bug: Small bug in beta liquid in edit mode.

{%comment%} hi {%endcomment%} renders fine in both forward facing website and edit mode with standard code. But if you add a module it seems to break in edit mode. ie {%comment%} {module_contentholder,name="_Widget - Text"} {%endcomment%} but renders fine on forward facing site.

Wrapping out for the first release in production of the new engine

Hi everyone,

We are getting closer on having the BC.Next engine pushed to production and we’d like to share and get feedback on the launch and migration plan. While the dates are tentative for now (we’re aiming to lock down the releases dates by next week), the releases stages will be:

End of September
1. New Muse sites will be created directly on the new engine and will have liquid enabled
2. Existing Adobe Muse sites will be moved to the new engine
3. Existing BC sites will be able to voluntarily switch to new engine; for these sites, switching to the new engine has two options:
  1. "Enable just for me" – this option will allow a partner to view how a sites performs with the new engine; switching this on will route the site through the new engine only for the current user and current browser session (we use cookies for the switch); we encourage you to use this method to check a site before switching it completely to the new engine;
  2. "Fully switch site to new engine" – this option will switch the site rendering engine; once checked, all sites visitors and admin users will access the site through the new engine; You can now take advantage of the available liquid features on the existing sites, while everything you’ve already build works as before. While we do not anticipate problems, partners can switch back the site to the old engine if needed;
Mid/Late October
1. New Business Catalyst sites will be created on the new engine; Users will NOT have the possibility to switch back to the old engine
End of December/Mid-January
1. Existing BC sites will be migrated to the new engine; there will NOT be a possibility to switch back to the old engine

Having the alpha infrastructure in place has allowed partners to play with the new features and send us lots of feedback. We want to use the months following the release to integrate as much of it as we can. We also have a few items that we need to polish before we can declare a complete victory on the BC.Next release. So stay tuned for updates.

I'm trying to use the cart for booking accommodation. I can't see a way to book n Adults and n Children in one 'add to cart' action. If I use the adults as the main product and 'children' as a attribute, if they book 2 adults it also books 2 children. I can't have a separate quantity for the main product and the attribute (children).

The only way I can see to do it is to generate attribute options for all possible combinations of up to 6 adults and 6 children and hide the 'quantity'.

Is there currently a way to do this, or is there a way to do it using liquid.

Using Liquid in auto responder emails

Is it / will it be possible to use liquid inside autoresponder emails?

I have the following scenario where the client is very particular about the format of emails sent to her clients.

I need to provide a user friendly way of sending styled/html emails to her clients detailing appointment details. Ideally appointment details would also be stored (ie possibly a web app).

Essentially I want to provide a simple form into which my client can enter appointments. On form submission an email is sent to her client detailing appointment details (time, date. location etc).

I have considered using a simple web form, web app, and also email marketing relying on anniversary dates. Not too sure how to best approach it. Essentially a simple appointment scheduling solutions.

The main issue being that the client is not happy with how {tag_webformresults} renders.

CSS to hide unwanted fields isn't really an option (ie it seems as though Gmail for example strips some css).

BC menu in dreamweaver not working

/Admin/AppLoader.aspx?client_id=app-name-folder&redirect_uri=/Utilities/ShopSettings.aspx

Was given a while ago as a means to direct to a page in the admin. This will not work inline on an app page because your not logged in to the admin of the app url.

If you form from the refferrer the url to do something like..

https://SITE.worldsecuresystems.com/Admin/AppLoader.aspx?client_id=app-name-folde&redirect _uri=Utilities/ShopSettings.aspx

This fails to load anything.

So at the moment now there is no way your apps can properly link to other parts of the admin, say if you need someone to turn something on etc.

Or am I missing something, I know there was discussion in PAB but I cant find it other then the above. App to app pages are fine, but anything else - You cant?

{module_pagename} output is null while in In-Context Editing mode

In ICE Editing mode, any page titles using the tag {module_pagename} are empty.

Is there any fix or workaround for this?

module_webapps and liquid layouts

Hello,

I have been playing around on the beta server and had some questions on how to use module_webapps with the liquid language on BC. my question is what is the best way to test the new features of the module_webapps tag:

{module_webapps id="webappId|webappName" filter="item" itemId="123" targetFrame="" useBackupTemplate="false" resultsPerPage="" hideEmptyMessage="false" rowCount="" sortType="ALPHABETICAL" collection="my_custom_collection_name" template=""}

I am able to create some JSON data via:

{module_webapps,22762,a template="/webapp-list.tpl"}

but I am not able to use the new named parameters and create a collection:

{module_webapps id="22762" template="" collection="my_custom_collection_name"}

I was thinking I could output the data to the page via:

I was successful with this:

{module_shoppingcartsummary collection="my_custom_shopping_cart" template=""}

Is this module working the same way or am I understanding this wrong?

Is there an app that would allow less than whole quantities function in e-commerce module?

My client has products that can be ordered in .25, .5, & .75. So I am trying to find a way to make the BC e-commerce module function with quantities that are not always whole numbers.

Contact_SecureZoneListUpdateInsert needs updating?

Hi,

I'm trying to use Contact_SecureZoneListUpdateInsert, but when I enter an Email Address to identify the Contact Record I get an error saying "No contact record found matching the email address provided".

I suspect that this is because it's trying to match the data I send to the deprecated Email Address field, rather than newer Phone Number ID=7 field that now houses the Email Address. The old Email Address field returns a null value when I do a ContactList_Retrieve call.

I don't see it possible to make a call to Contact_SecureZoneListUpdateInsert using the EntityId as the record identifier rather than the Email Address. Is this something that needs to be updated, or am I way off the mark?

I understand that the CRM APIs are being changed to RESTful APIs, but if the SOAP API is indeed broken, is it possible to fix this issue in the meantime?

I'm guessing that the editor is not the finished article (I certainly hope not anyway).

The first thing I wanted to look at was the new editor, so I opened a page in the editor and all image urls are broken - not a great start, buy hey no problem, easily fixed.

1. OK, first thing I want to look at is links, a link can indeed be added but it's target can not - I then checked on Redactor WYSIWYG html editor and the out of the box version allows a target to be set?

2. Next up I wanted to add an image. I REALLY hope that this isn't the finished version!! The two big improvements I was looking for was 1. Default alt tags ie: the alt tag is filled with the filename, so at least something is there by default and... 2. Automatically adding the image width and height to the image tag. Redactor does appear to do 1. but not 2. out of the box, but this version does neither. The image dialogue is limited to adding "Image Tooltip" no margins or position?? Redactor doesn't appear to have the facility to add margins to an image?

3. I gave up.

If this is the final version of the new editor then it is actually worse than the old one (in terms of client usability), please tell me this isn't the final version!!!

Get webapp item ID from success response & nested

I may be missing something here but as we cannot set a webapp item ID ourselves via the API it would be great to be able to get the webapp item ID from the success response after creating the item. The idea here is that we want to categorize the webapp item immediately after creating it. It seems too haphazard to find a webapp item solely on its name.

It would also be great to be able to filter items based on custom fields

This has not worked since the Amazon migration and old UI turn off. Any plans to update this or is it discontinued now?
