Line to Illustrator : no vector shape

Updated today Illustrator CC & Line, when I send my file from Line to Illustrator I only get a bitmap picture in Illustrator. What's up please, hey guys where are the vector shapes ??? I can't understand what you're doing with those app, there are a lot of app much more easier to use than yours !!! Look at Concep'ts for example, we can can compare it to Line but they offer layers, shapes can be easily moved and file can be send to illustrator and opened in a vector format. It's a shame that this can not be possible with your own app !!!! Sorry but I'm totally disappointed…

I've got the latest versions of the CC2014 apps installed. I'm signed in and CC App is running on my Mac taskbar, and I checked in Illustrator and Photoshop and it shows me signed in to my account. I'm signed in to my CC account in Draw and Line on my iPad, bit when I tap "Send to Illustrator" or "Send to Photoshop", I get the progress icon, then a message saying "Sent", but it never shows up on the desktop app. I've tried it with the apps running and closed. I've removed previous versions (CS6 and CC), but no luck. I've tried making sure both iPad and MacBook Pro are on the same WiFi network. No luck so far. Any ideas?

Like the title says. I've tried penultimate, sketch, and line with the same results. I've got multi-touch gestures turned off as well as palm rejection disabled and have the same problem.

It could be an iOS 8.1 problem, as the iPad Air I tried was still running iOS 7.

EDIT: This would probably make more sense to have in the Ink & Slide forum instead of Line -- should I delete this note and add one in the other forum? Is there someone that can move it?

As the title. Adobe Ideas has this feature and is extremely useful for things like cartoons. However, Line seems to be a lot more powerful - the ability to trace and insert shapes etc, so being able to sync to Illustrator as vectors would be a real game changer for me.

The share or send to feature is now only allowing me to publish to Behance, which is kind of pointless. What has happened to 'save image' 'message' 'email' etc etc?

Hi there!

I just received my Adobe ink & Slide last week, and I was very excited.

Once received I was very frustrated because is not working at all as expected, and it draws straight lines out of the blue when touching sometimes.

Also for a couple of minutes sometimes doesn't respond.

Was hoping to get it replaced or even to be refounded but there's no way to have a direct contact with anybody on the phone, and the chat is always closed.

What's happening here? very very disappointed!

Anybody better luck with contacting customer support?

I'm a total amateur, so maybe this is something everyone knows... how do I make the background transparent so that it doesn't show up as part of the image when I use it in another document? It's a B-W drawing.

All my drawings are pixelated! They will not finish loading!

When I load a drawing (ipad gen3), they don't clear up. They stay pixelated. I can draw over them, so they are not frozen. And the new lines appear correct.

In thumbnail view the image looks fine. But when I open the drawing it looks terrible.

If I back and open old images, they are all BAD.

I rebooted the ipad.

Im really trying to like this app.......but........

The latest version of Adobe Line, v. 1.0.1, updated on the Apple app store July 16, 2014, may cause your drawings to be deleted. The products team is urgently working to deliver a new version to the app store to address this critical issue.

Until that fix is available, we will be blocking the ability to sync drawings on ALL versions of Line. If you have updated the app to v1.0.1, or it was updated automatically, you can safely use it but you will not see any drawing that have disappeared until we determine how to best recover them from the server. If you have not updated to 1.0.1 you should hold off for now as we work on a 1.0.2 update to address the core problem.

Just to make sure I did not miss anything.

Would it be possible to set opacity and size for brushes being used in Adobe Illustrator Line? Or this is available on in Adobe Illustrator Draw?

Also, chromatic circle for choosing colors is not a feature in Line, right?

Can you move a drawing from one group to another?

The new version made all my my individual drawings into individual groups. How do you regroup? I can see how you can move around the order within a group, but cant see how to move an image from one group to another.

You would think you could hold down a drawing, then slide to the next group. But you cant....

Still no layers, what gives??

I am in a pinch for time and knowledge, so I imagine someone can answer this quickly. I want the Adobe Ink/Slide hardware and software for my IPAD - I think it has great functionality.

My second question is can I also use the Ink Stylus in the Windows environment too? I see the "Adonit" Company actually manufactures the equipment for the Adobe program, so I wanted to know if I could interchange this digital stylus between my Mac's and Window's computers. Or, do I need another style stylus such as the others that Adonit manufactures. If you wouldn't mind, check out this website and let me know your feelings. In other words, I need to digitally sign things in both the Mac and Windows environment both but I'd rather not go broke on hardware.

I just updated my Line app in the app-store updates and when I opened the app I was shocked to find all my hours upon hours of hard work all gone

Why is Ink only ergonomic for right-handed people?

The Ink feels great in the right-hand, the twist in the metal puts the pen in just the right position, but in the left-hand, the twist is the wrong direction. The point of the triangle rests on the hand. Ink is lightweight but the twisting the wrong direction makes it harder to control. When will left-handed people get their own? I'm kinda disappointed in Ink.

Can I export/share a line file from free CC as pdf or illus cs2 file so client can view/edit?

I can't find a clear answer to this really simple question so I hope someone here can help me.

I haven't purchased my ink and slide yet, or used any of the creative cloud software. Before I do I want to make sure I understand what I can share with Line and the free level of CC. I want to use them for a particular client who is still old school. So... If I have a drawing created in Line on my ipad and a client with an older macbook pro, still running CS2 (so osx 10.6.8), and I have an ipad with Line and a free Creative Cloud membership (but no CC versions of Adobe software other than Line), is it possible to:

send her a pdf she can open and print?

send her a file she can open/edit/print in CS2?

send her anything she can open and/or edit and/or print?

Print something I can mail to her.

I guess I'm basically asking: what are my limitations for sharing/printing Line drawings with only the free CC membership?

Any near term hope for Ink and Slide compatibility for a samsung galaxy in the next 2-4 months? This will help me decide how to proceed I would hate to go out and buy an IOS device and soon the option comes out to use it on a android or Vaio touch screen. The product sure looks better than getting a Wacon

I just received my Ink and Slide!

However, none of the apps recognize the slide. It appears the sensor on the end away from the button is not working. I noticed this because my pinky slipped off of that end and hit the screen and suddenly the lines appeared. I've also ensured the slide is not dirty.

The stylus is fine and works perfectly and the tips in here about turning on the palm rejection were great. Should I contact Adonit?

Adobe Ink won't turn on. :-(

I've had my Adobe Ink for less than one week. I can't get it to turn on although the charger indicates that it is charged. I am frustrated. I enjoyed using it during the brief time it worked. Do you have any advice on how to get it to work again?

How do I stop slide leaving marks all over my drawings? Not useful when there are no layers and erasing unwanted marks leaves holes everywhere.

Line no longer allows a thumb-nail gallery view and will not save names of drawings. No one is available on Adobe chat is able to address these issues.

I believe the pen is charged completely.. the charging unit cycles through the rainbow colors, but when I turn Ink

on it immediately flashes red a few times and disconnects. I've charged it over night and still have the same issue.

I'me just starting out in Line with the Ink & Slide. I've use Adobe apps for many years and I always work with sketching on a layer separate from the finished work. I can't seem to find a Layers tool option in Line or Sketch. Am I overlooking something?

The latest update to Adobe Line (Version 1.0.1) deleted my artwork. It even erased the sample artwork that was there when I first started the app. Why is that and how can I get it back? Why isn't my artwork saved in the cloud??

This is ridiculous, inconvenient, and very disappointing.

As much as I appreciate the charging case for Ink, I need a hard shell case for the the cord, Slide, Ink and the charging case.
I found a Nintendo case at Target yesterday so that I feel comfortable taking my tablet and I&S out for field trips, but it is rather inelegant.
What are other I&S users using?

Is there a way to access the "Creative Cloud Clipboard" repository outside Adobe Line/Sketch Apps?

For instance via (macbookpro) web, local directory (CC desktop), or mobile web? As opposed to Utilizing the feature purely in Adobe line/sketch?

I mean... I know i could just take screen shots... via the iPad's protocol. However, that would defeat the purpose of creative cloud.

The point of accessing the creative cloud clipboard, is so that I can create Time-Lapse .GIF's of my drawings, Using the "timeline" feature (undo)....which is amazing feature btw.

Honestly the solution for me... would be to have an option to export a .GIF (animated), .tiff sequence, or video file (m4a mov). I would say export options would be 1. File Size & Type (Context...) 2. Detail, # of Slides (How long is your timeline, what do you want to show, what level of detail?) 3. Share (Behance, Creative Cloud Files, MMS, iMessage, etc... 4. Open in... Photoshop, Aftereffects etc...

I think this would be great for..tutorials, multi-media, prototyping (wireframes, character design, etc). So, i'm not saying this should be a heavy set...focal point of the application, after all an animation app all itself would be nice. However, I think a feature like an "interactive timeline" would push users to be even more creative, by hacking, creating ghetto rigged *** backwards ways of prototyping that...actually might be more convenient. This is the story Adobe is trying to tell, the story of process, whats in your head... in the moment. Thats why behance is integrated, because process & feedback + exposure are essential to developing as a creative, so Adobe has put together a great platform...for its users. So, yeah...Adobe.. here's your chance to gain a greater insight into creative process, and integrate it directly into the creative cloud platform. I think it would be huge for Ink & Slide , Behance, and Student-Teacher / Designer- Company relationship.

Ability to Shift Gesture Button to the Right Edge?

Is there any way to move the "Gesture Touch" button to the right side of the interface? As I am a lefty, I actually have to make pains to not touch that button with my palm (and palm rejection seems to not apply to that button target area). On the right would work much better for me. And of course, if I flip the pad physically, the button just rotates to keep it on the left. In general, I'm finding the programs, and a bit the Ink device, to be somewhat Lefty hostile which is odd given the relatively high percentage of southpaws who work as artists.
