SpryMenu.js requires SpryWidget.js! errors please help

I am getting errors that state:

SpryMenu.js requires SpryWidget.js!

SpryMenuBarKeyNavigationPlugin.js requires SpryMenu.js!

when I open my site www.ccho.org. This site was working beautifully until yesterday. I thought perhaps I corrupted a file when I was editing yesterday. I have restored and reloaded the entire site and even went into the hosting and restored to a previous date that was working. I have been all over the forums trying to find a solution everything directs me to a link http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/ui/includes/SpryWidget.js which looks like Adobe has removed the information from. I believe my problem lies here. I have tried re-loading SpryWidget from http://safeshop.com.au/Spry-UI-1.7/includes/SpryMenu.js and that still errored out. I have also replaced code line <script src="Spry-UI-1.7/includes/SpryWidget.js" type="text/javascript"></script> with

<script src="http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/ui/includes/SpryWidget.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

as well to no avail. I currently renamed the Spry-UI-1.7 folder to xSpry-UI-1.7 to get the errors to quit appearing but obviously this does not fix my issue as the menu no longer functions well like it did with drop downs.

I am hoping Altruistic Gramps who seems incredibly knollegable on spry has some insite.

Hi,

I just moved from the old Spy menues (1.6.) to the latest widget based 2.0 version to have better behavior

on touch devices etc. So far so good - menu works as expected.

Here is my problem:

In 1.6 I added IDs to all my menue items and assiged a dependend css formatting to the header of the

according page to highlight the current menu (only the top levels changed color) - like this:

Spry Dropdown Menu problem in Mobile Safari (iPad)

I've used the stack SpryMenuBar.js in Dreamweaver to create a dropdown menu for a client (XponentMD.com).

When I Did a pass to optimize the site for the iPad, I found that the menu does not work properly. When you touch the top-level category, you go directly to the linked page and don't trigger the dropdown categories. I believe is it because the touch screen interface does not recognize focus and blur events.

It there and updated version of the SpryMenuBar.js that accommodates touch screen browsers like mobile Safari?

I must express my DEEPEST DISAPPOINTMENT with Adobe for such a dis heartening move to discontiue this framework.

I have been using Adobe Spry Framework from inception and found the capabilities of at least the DataSet Object frameworks to be the most easiet, fast, effective implementation of frameworks when it comes to dealing with data/ external data display and manipulation EVER. It has been the goto framework for almost ALL of my data driven web applications and has proven to me to be BY FAR a superior advantage over using any MVC or another Ajax based framework that I have encountered.

To learn of its discontinuation after years of hope and promise of futher development of the framework with such a huge potential is really heart wrenching. I do hope that someone else will take up the regins to which Adobe has so cowardly let go of and continue to progress this framework into a new aged design specimen that it should be.

I personally though lacking in the extensive knowledge of the frameworks inner workings and expreience in javascript or framework development for that matter...will be one to TRY to develop it as much as I can. But will lend ANY SUPPORT that I can as limited only by my knowledge and experience to futher the success of this framework to any lengths to make it as great as it has always been and could be.

Dreamweaver CS5 cannot access blue spry menu

Whenever I use a spry menu I have this problem where it is not possible to see the little blue menu bar that allows you to edit your menus.

WHY? I have searched forums, searched the internet but no answers. Okay I have seen other people ask the same problem but als their threads end with no solution. Sometimes it shows, mostly it doesn't

So please can someone help as to why I cannot see or access the little blue spry menu bar?

Entire page displays ("flashes") before going to targeted tab

Hi. I'm using 1.6.1 Spry framework and have built a long page with 8 tabs on it.

When you first come to the page, or refresh it, it briefly shows the entire page before contracting to show just the selected tab. (I target specific tabs by using something like /index.html?panel=5#City).

This makes the page flash briefly before displaying the intended content because each tab has a different background colour and you get e.g. an all-red page that then contracts to white.

Is there any way to prevent that from happening? Is there an equivalent to pre-loading images so you don't get the flash effect?

New Spry Collapsible Panel IE 8 Bug

I have tried various tricks and haven't had any luck with IE8. All other browsers work fine.

When you expand a panel the page content div/area extends but the page doesn't.

I have tried the line 431 change to "auto" and placing various <div style="clear: both"></div>'s in various places. Still no luck.

Spry Horizontal Menu Bar sub menu extending to the right

I am using DW CS3 and th Spry Horizontal Menu Bar. I'm trying to stop the sub menus extending out to the right when i roll over them: See the site here: http://whytes.ie/artindex.asp

Full Screen Problem

Hello, I'm working on an animation using actionscript 3. I want to put it on my site and be able to toogle between full screen and a smaller dimension that fits that page. A member in the actionscript forum said I need to use javascript. I created my animation in flash and was planning on exporting it as swf. The dimensions I created it at is 1920x1080 and want it to be 500x281 to fit on the page. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Spry Json Parser and element update

Hi I am new to spry. -Any help would be awesome!

I have a php script that returns a JSON string with two values.

{ "message":"new record created" , "record_id":"21" }

I need to parse the string from the ajax response and then insert the record_id into a hidden field element.

The parse needs to be supportabl in IE 6 ( unfortunately )

Ideally I'd like to do the above using spry rather than having to use JQuery as I have built the site (so far) using just spry.

Is there a way to achieve the above using Spry or native js?

Spry Photo Gallery Image Size via CSS

Hello!

I´ve been customizing the spry photo gallery for a couple of time, but got my little problem when viewing it on a mobile phone. When you load up the pictures with a size of 450 x 300 px for example, put up the right xml file with it´s width and height, so the gallery shows the pictures in that size. So what I want to do is that you can specify the image size with css depending on the device you´re watching the site with. There is div in the css called "mainImage" where the size is in %. When you change it to 75% for example. The pictures are correctly shown with 75% of it´s original size, but the outline (grey background) is still in 100%. When you make this grey background transparent it´s still there and moves the caption down. I guess there have to be done some changes within the SpryImageViewer.js, but I just know very little things about JavaScript. Do you have any clues how to change this to specify the image size via CSS?

I am redoing my naigation bars to work better with tablets.... It has been an interesting process .. I think the original was easier to modify but that beside teh point

My resultung nav bar where i Hvae pull downs is acting like an on line game

as you go over the sub menus appear but teh first time you see the page when you bring the cursor down you have to get the speed right or it goes away

once you catch it the first time later efforts are easier

In have taken the bidng speeds to as follows

both level show delays to 10

both levels hide delays to 400

what ever timing those represent

Spry MenuBar1 IE Issue

Website works great in FFX 16 and Chrome 21, IE 9 has issues displaying the menu, and it does as well in IE8 or 7 if I use the developer tool to look at compatability. The menu should have the top menu items going from right to left, instead in IE it goes from top to bottom.

OK I am probably doing something simple wrong ...but

I was trying tp upgrade Spry to 2. to deal with some bad compatibility

to make things simple to trouble shoot I have great a page with just the menu bar

Accordian openLastPanel by default

I know that I can set the default open panel by either editing the SpryAccordian.js file like so:
this.defaultPanel = 0;

Or using script like this:

I also know that I can open panels programmically like this:

The problem with the first option is that I dynamically add the panels using a repeat so that the number of panels varies. I cannot very well use a number here because it may not be the very last panel or the number may be too high if there is not enough panels causing them to all be closed. I've tried using 99 knowing that I will never have that many panels and of course all panels are closed which is not desired.

I have not been successful with the onclick method to be able to play with it as I think the openLastPanel is what I need. However I do not want a link/button that has to be clicked in order for this to take place. I am assuming I can use some sort of onload instead.

I'm hoping someone could supply me with the code and location to where to insert it so that when the page opens, the very last panel is the one opened rather than the top one.

Spry allowing form to Submit with Blank values?

What would cause Spry to allow my Form to be submitted when the "Required" fields are left blank? Here is what is happening:

- I leave the fields blank and click my "Submit" button

- I briefly see the fields go Red with message "A Value is required"

- Then the Form submits anyway (tables update/no errors)

- I'm using jquery mobile on my page

- I'm inserting data into two tables at one time (Lines 8, 196, 203)

I have connect an XML-file to my html document and inserted this tag <div spry:region="ds1">{ds_RowNumber}{NAME} </div> and I can se the fist element in my XML-file but how to select another element to place in an other div or o textbox? My page has background picture that symbolize a lot of measure point therefore I can not represent data in some table. I use DW CS6 Spry Pre-Release 1.6.1.

Hello, everyone.

Just a heads-up if you are using the Spry Rating Widget.

According to the samples page at http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/samples/rating/RatingSample.html if you want to disable multiple votes (at least until page refresh) you set the option "allowMultipleVoting:false".

It should be "allowMultipleRating:false".

Took me almost an hour to figure this one out. Hope this saves a few people some trouble.

Adding new pages to an existing Spry drop down menu

I've got a working spry drop down menu. When I want to add another page to one of the drop down menus, I amend all my individual screens and templates individually. Is there anyway round this (sorry, I'm quite new to coding)?

Also, I currently have to refresh every single page so that the new page appears within the spry menu. Again, is there any way round this? It doesn't bother me so much as I know I have to do it, but my users aren't so happy with it and don't really understand why they have to do it.

Hiding required message on input field focus/active

I know I am overlooking something obvious and this is going to be a simple "Duh" moment for me, but I've banged my head on the desk for too many days now, so....

I have a form and am using SpryValidationTextArea on it. Currently the Javascript is unmodified. The SpryValidationTextArea.css is very lightly modified for the required message style to eliminate the border, make the position relative and then set a top and left value to position it where I want it. Other than that, it is unmodified.

I have several text fields set as being required. The validation check is done upon form submission. When such a text field is not filled in, the require message is displaying properly.

When I click the mouse inside one of these fields (make it active) that did not get filled in as required, the require message still displays and interfers with the input field area.

What I would like to do is have the required message hidden when the field input area is clicked (made active). I for the life of me cannot get this to work no matter what class(es) I target or how I structure my CSS.

If anyone can help out and point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

Here's one that's been bugging me for a while...I have a page a built in dreamweaver that when in view a local copy in IE or Safari (windows) it is fine, but when viewing it on Chrome or Firefox the data is not there. The strange thing is that when the file is viewed on our company website http://www.andersondevelopment.com/cd/physicaldatagrid.html it works just fine in Chrome, but not Firefox still. Why would it be fine in Chrome in one location, but not another. I have all the referenced files in the same relative locations, so everything should be good there.

Any ideas?
