ActionScript Parser in ActionScript?

Hi all,

In the previous and old post (http://forums.adobe.com/message/223435) , people (and I) asked about a parser for ActionScript. My post was never responsed, I am not sure whether the forum is still activated or not?

I need if there is an ActionScript parser written in ActionScript. I know there are (almost complete) parsers for ActionScript (FlexPMD), but this one is in Java and is not very documented (the parser API at least). I need the parser to modify source code (eg. wrap functions). If anybody has an idea, I would apreciate to hear it.

PS: I looked about metaprogramming in AS3 as well, but it seems to be limited

Thanks in advance,
Paul

displaying a user defined function list

I've been using Homesite since Allaire had it and I love it (currently PHP development). There's just 1 feature that I want that it doesn't seem to have and that's the ability to show me a list of user defined functions in the file. Here's the strange part. If I'm working on a file that has nothing but PHP code in it (no stand alone HTML) then the "tag inspector" does, in fact, give me the list of functions I'm looking for. However, if I have php functions 'here and there' inserted into HTML code, the tag inspector gets confused and show just a few, or none of the function.

I do have a saved regex search that does return a clickable list of function to the result window but that only works until you use the results window for something else.

I'm thinking there's a way to use the 'Outline Profile Editor' to create a profile that will show me what I want; basically anything starting with the word "function XY() {...}" but I've never gotten anything to work. Does anyone have any solution?

Thanks,

homesite 5.5 resource window will not dock

Here is a screenshot:
http://www.borlak.org/images/homesitebr.JPG

You'll notice the resource window (F9) is floating. It wont
re-dock. A coworker has the option under View->Resource
Windows->Dock all windows (or something to that effect). As
you'll see in the screenshot, that doesn't exist for me. This is
homesite 5.5 and I can't find any updates on it, or a fix for this.

If I drag the window to the sides, it doesn't try to re-dock
as you would expect. I've right clicked everywhere on the resource
window looking for some kind of menu option - nothing. I've also
tried double clicking the titlebar of the resource window (typical
way of docking a window), again to no effect.

I found the keyboard shortcut "Dock All Resource Windows" and
tried several different keybinds, and it does not redock the
resource window for me.

I pretty much gave up on homesite due to this and tried a
couple different editors (including dreamweaver), but after a day
of use I would like to go back to homesite, but this is still
bugging the heck out of me. The only thing I haven't tried is
re-installing, but that is a pain in my work environment since I
need admin access and it can take a while to get that done; plus
that option seems a little extreme.

Any help would be greatly appreciated;

I've been using HomeSite for years and years, and allways had
a gutter between the ressource tab (sidebar) and the editing
windows. In this gutter I had a number of small icons correspoding
to indent, word wrap, double screen and others. Very usefull.
Suddenly one day these icons were gone, supplanted by line
numbers, which I never use.
I'm sure there is some way to return to my favorite layout,
but I can't seem to find it.

works really well except that I cannot get the Open File dialog box
to go to the last directory I opened. So EVERY single time I want
to, say, get a graphic from a directory, I have to double click my
way down the path to reach the same directory I just picked up a
previous file from. It doesn't seem to matter whether I have
checked "Start in the folder last opened in the Files tab" or
"Start in the folder last opened in the file open dialog." The
"Always start in this folder" DOES work -- but that's not
sufficient.

Is there somewhere else I need to change or check something
to get the Open File to always open in the directory I last
opened?! (REALLY frustrating!)

docking

found it by searching again in this forum for the word
'floating'

got this:

Tip: Re-Docking Resource Windows
In HomeSite you can un-dock or float one or more of the
resource windows easily by double-clicking on the top title area of
the resource window.

However, it's not clear how to re-dock them, and the HS help
doesn't really tell you how either.

To dock them, you'll have to repeat this action for each
resource tab.
Right-mouse-click over the area within each tab and select
Move (tab-name) to Left.

Here are some screen shots illustrating this:

1. Undocking
2. Undocked
3. Redocking

Note that the local file tabs may be floating with just the
folders list showing. You can't get that "Move to Left" menu option
if you click over the folders list, but must drag the bottom down
or the folders/files list separator bar up so you can see the files
list. Then Right click over the files list and select Move Files 1
(or 2) to Left..

For some reason, you may need to re-dock some of the other
tabs like help or snippets before re-docking the Local Files tabs.

See also Ben Forta's tip: Prevent Accidental Resource Tab
Moves.
