BrowserLab is shutting down effective March 13, 2013

Effective March 13, 2013, BrowserLab will officially be shutting down. We have seen the usage of BrowserLab drop over the past year while at the same time our engineering team has been focusing on mobile web testing solutions. Hello Adobe,

I'de like to use BrowserLab for a website that is in Beta status. For that reason I've disabled bots to crawl the website through a robots.txt. But that appears to be blocking BrowserLab also. Is it possible to allow BrowserLab by adding it to the robots.txt? Something like:

Browserlab Stopped Working

I'm trying to view my pages in browserlab, and it just won't pull up pages anymore. I log into browerlab, and it will show pages that are already online, but not from dreamweaver. In dreamweaver, it says that it timed out and failed to connect. I've connected before, on this computer and one other. I'm using windows. Thank you.

Adobe BrowserLab missing IE6

Just last week I use to have IE6 as a browser listed in Adobe BrowserLab.

Now it is missing IE6.

In Adobe BrowserLab > All Browsers it no longer lists IE6.

It starts with IE7

How to get it back?

BrowserLab freezes on 80% Grey screen

Hi; I am using:

MacBook Pro Retina - OSX 10.8.2

Dreamweaver - 12.0

I have tried BrowserLab both from within Dremweaver and without it running, but the outcome is the same - It stops loading

I get a dark grey window as it tries to start. In the middle of that it says "Loading Library 1 of " then "Loaded Library 1 of "

Pauses on that for 3-4 minutes and then flashes "Loading Library 2 of " that goes off, just leaving the Grey screen, which never does anything else unless I close the browser (Safari)

Can you help, please?

I am interested in using BrowserLab to test some online advertisements, however the problem I am having is that BrowserLab takes screenshots too early. The ads load politely, so the screenshot is being taken before they load. Can we set a delay on the screenshot so that elements like these have time to load?

Hi all

Browserlab is just not working. Whenever i open BrowserLab from Dreamweaver - Browserlab loads, logs in, but then displays nothing!

I have tried closing DW, then opening Browserlab in browser, and tried typing in example: www.google.com, but it then tells me "i do not have any browser sets defined. Please click Browser sets menu item and create one or more"

So then i click on Browser Sets. I tick all the browser options - and then thats its - i can't go any further - there's no 'go' button or 'continue' button??!

Someone please help me, i;m trying to do a course and so far DW has been nothing but hassle!

BrowserLab not working, giving me a DreamweaverConnection Error 3691 ?

I've been using Adobe BrowserLab since it was in Beta, and as a web developer, I love it. Today, however, I am getting an unusual and persistent error message across multiple browsers, and was hoping someone could shed some light on the subject? At this point, I cannot use BrowserLab. It simply refuses to work.

After logging in, and after the "loading" message goes away, I am presented with the usual BrowserLab interface. I select the two-up view (my personal favorite), and after entering a URL and clicking the refresh button, I am presented with a message that says "You don't have any browser sets defined. Please click the Browser Sets menu item and create one or more."

First, this is strange because I DO have browser sets defined. So, I go to the Browser Sets menu, select all of the browsers I wish to add to a new browser list, but when I click the "Add New Browser Set" button, nothing happens... nothing at all. No new browser sets are defined.

So, I figured it was a glitch and signed out, then signed back in. Upon signing in, I am presented with the following error message: "DreamweaverConnection Error: TypeError: Error # 3691" (screenshot attached)

After dismissing the error, I am still unable to define any browser sets or use BrowserLab.

I've duplicated this error on both Safari version 6.0.2 and FireFox version 18.0.1 (both running on a 2011 27" 3.2Ghz quad core iMac)

I do not use Dreamweaver, nor do I connect to BrowserLab through it. I simply do all of my browser testing via browserlab.adobe.com

I've restarted my browsers, and still have this issue. I've restarted my machine, and still have these issues.

Please advise.

Hello everybody,

I got version 12.0 Build 5861 (12.0.3) of Dreamweaver installed.

Everything worked fine, except the BrowserLab extension:

When I click the BrowserLab panel to open it, the panel disappears.
When I go to the Globe icon > Preview in Adobe BrowserLab, nothing happens.
When I go to Window > Extensions, it says: (no extentions).
What is more: when I trie to start up Adobe BrowserLab from withnin Dreamweaver (i.e. do one of the three things above), Dreamweaver oftentimes crashes.

So I uninstalled and then reinstalled CS6 again, but the problem recurred every time (I did this a couple of times).

Now everything works fine again, but not until I decided to NOT install two updates:

Dreamweaver 12.0.3, and
Adobe CSXS InfrastructureCS6

So either one of these two updates is the culprit causing the BrowserLab extention to disappear and Dreamweaver to crash.

Is anyone else experiencing this same problem?

Preview Local Source not working with Firefox 18.0

Just installed BrowserLab for Firefox. I was hoping to use the Preview Local Source option so I could see how my dropdown menus look. But nothing happens when I click that. Preview URL works fine but I wouldn't need this add-on to do that. I have Firefox 18.0 and somewhere I saw that this was a known issue for FF 18.0 and that there would be an update for it soon. This was over a year ago. Anyone have any luck having this working FF 18.0? Any ideas if this is fixable?

Hello,

So some of the sites I use at work require a login to access all of the pages within. Some examples would be our company's Intranet, applications, SharePoint sites etc.

Does anyone know if there is a way to login to the websites though browser lab so I could possibly test things further?

RSL Flex Error

Hello, I am getting the following error message occur when I try to use Adobe Browserlab (the browser edition, not within Dreamweaver)

To explain the problem, I head to http://browserlab.adobe.com and login. Normally I am redirected to the 'browser preview screen' although for the past few days I have been directed to the following error message:

"RSL Error 1 of 3. Flex Error #1001: Digest Mismatch with RSL. https://browserlab.adobe.com/popUpMenuButton.swf. Redeploy the matching RSL or relink your application with the matching library."

BrowserLab failing for known good page

Browser lab failing on every browser for this page "http://www.triadboiler.com/products/" which is a known good page. It says it has 404's but I can open it fine in Chrome and Safari. Browserlab fails for those as well as all the IE's. The site is written in Wordpress and works fine. I was hoping to test it on IE 7, 8 and 9, but I can't even get it to load for some reason.

How do I test entering a field and then clicking a button on a web page that I am testing.? I would like to test / compare a whole site - how do I do that when I have to use SSO to get into my site ?

I need to test our portal against several different browsers.

I am primarily looking at look and feel, but experience as well.

Our portal requires a SSO (single sign on ) log in and a click of a Submit button after filling our a user name and password field.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated !

Not seeing a preview in browser lab

I created a banner in adobe edge animate and wanted to test it in Adobe Browser Lab (ABL). I have to test it through dreamweaver. I open the html file in dreamweaver and the live view shows the banner file with it animation (photo fades in/out). I can preview the file in my browser just fine. Everything looks good. When I launch ABL through dreamweaver, I don't see the file in the browsers selected (safari, firefox, chrome, IE9) except for the poster image for IE8. Any suggestions?

I noticed that some page on websites aren't looking the same on all screen resolutions. So it would be good that this system offers that too. Because right now it cuts off web pages.

I have a two-column layout, main content div is liquid, right sidebar is fixed px. http://www.placetrenddata.com/mysite. Across all browsers, the lab shows my right sidebar as not fitting next to the main content. I have actually taken out my ruler and measured the width of two columns, which measure equally in Dwvr and in the lab. However the width of the container in the lab is less, which would seemingly make for the bad fit.

The hybrid layout evolved because: 1) I do not want a banner at full width, and 2) therefore, the hybrid layout was the only one that kept the right sidebar from jumping down. Now I'm not sure what is going on, since at least in my IE8, the sidebar it to the right, but for IE8 in lab it jumps below. Thanks for advice on this, or the hybrid layout in general.

I'm using Browserlabs to compare a web page in various browsers. I'm finding that the rendering is inaccurate enough that the tool isn't worth the time, since it renders inconsistent results. Especially when you have a div > ul > li > a html element setup. I've seen a set of LIs render incorrectly several times today.

Just now, I switched to IE 9 in browserlabs and the page that's rendered has LIs with their class rendered as text (so it says "menu Home" instead of "Home").

A few minutes ago when i viewed a page in Chrome 18 in browserlabs there were LIs that didn't have style information and were in the wrong part of the page because of it. When I viewed them in the real browser they did not look that way.

All in all, my first half hour of browserlabs makes me think that I wasted half an hour.

It looks to me like browserlab is only loading part of the css. I guess I don't have a real question here, unless it's "why is this sucking so hard?"

Edit: I'm also seeing instances where I change browsers (from Chrome 18 to IE9) and the viewport is black.

I'm using FF 13 and Flash 11.1 (just updated this AM).

Browser lab does not show font Script MT Bold correctly in IE8

Browserlab does not show font Script MT Bold for H1 Heading "Cruises in Seattle and the San Juan Islands" correctly in IE8 or IE9. Why? Website it www.discoveryjourneys.com and on my PC it does show it correctly. I have the setting at 10sec.

Hello,

I'm doing testing on various browsers and I noticed that some of your browsers don't perform like the native versions. Could you give us the specific settings for each browser? Ex. Does IE8 run in compatibility mode?

The site in question is Font Awesome that works great on a native IE8 but not in browserlab. Any thoughts?

Hi there,

I've seen a couple of posts with this error but no real solution. I'm using the Dreamweaver CS6 build 5842 on Windows 7 x64. I can log into BrowserLab and preview sample URLs just fine.

When I use the BrowserLab panel in DW, though, and select Preview, my default browser (Chrome) launches, successfully logs in, then I'm faced with the default BrowserLab empty screen. Meanwhile the panel is sitting there saying "Launching BrowserLab..." and appears unaware that it has launched it quite successfully. Ultimately the panel in DW gives up, showing the "Timed out, failed to connect to BrowserLab" error and a nasty red dot.

I am in a large, corporate environment and cannot bypass the authenticated proxy system - this has caused problems in the past with some older software that isn't proxy aware. Could this be the cause of this error? All other programs (including Adobe Application Manager) I use are able to prompt for credentials and access the Internet successfully.

Is there anything I can do to use BrowserLab through Dreamweaver?

Can't get a preview of the whole page

BrowserLab only gives me a preview of two thirds of the page.

I've tried to adjust the number of seconds to delay before taking the screenshot and it did help but still the bottom part of the page is cut off.

I'm using

Windows XP

Chrome v.22

Any suggestions would be so helpful.

Preview different window sizes?

I was previewing a site in BrowserLab today, because I wanted to see what the page looked like at different window sizes. Of course, I can preview smaller window sizes in my own browser, but I also wanted to see the interaction between background and content when viewed full screen on a 27" and 30" monitor, which is larger than the laptop screen I'm working on.

I thought BrowserLab might help, but it appears that BrowserLab is locked to a viewport 1024 pixels wide, and I can't find a way to change that. Is there a way to specify pixel dimensions, and dimensions larger than the current monitor?

The way I'd like it to work is that if I tell it to render to a certain browser at pixel dimensions that are too large for my monitor, BrowserLab would be able to fit it in the window, and then zoom in.

I was using browserLab yesterday throughout the day then at a certain time it stopped working.

It was first giving an RSL error which I cleared my cache and restarted my browser and it fixed that. But now when I go to load a site (that was working previously) the different browsers just continue to show the preloading spinning for a while (left it loading for 10minutes) then goes red.

I am using. Safari 6 on OSX 10.8.1 and have also tried it on Rockmelt 0.16.91.483 and Chrome 21.0.1180.89

BrowserLab doesn't work - DW is asking for site?

hi,

I wanted to use BrowserLab for the first time today but it doesn't work. BrowserLab says it can't find the file (Page error 404). I wanted to test my local page. The setup with the site is correct, but DW is telling me, it can't connect to BrowserLab. (Timelimit?) and also says I have to save it in my root directory which is strange, because it is saved there.

Any ideas what I should do first? Thx in advance.

Dreamweaver Preview in Browser chrome

When I use the Dreamweaver preview in browser for Chrome it looks perfect, but when I put the site live the chrome site is a mess and not at all how I want it to look. Can anyone help me please. I am going crazy trying to figure this out. The original site was built in Wordpress. I copied the pages and edited them in dreamweaver and saved as html the site looks good in ie but not in chrome.

Browser Sets Empty Unable to Add

Hi, I am using the online version of browserlab and when I enter a url I am asked to choose a browser set. When I go to the browser set window there are no sets defined and I am unable to add a new one by clicking the add new set button. Any ideas?

Browser Lab Won't Load

I'm running Dreamweaver CS6 and when I try to connect to Browser Lab I get the message "Timed out, failed to connect to BrowserLab". The Browser Lab screen is blank. I've logged out and logged back in, cleared my cache. Not sure what else to do; very new to this so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I have a script attached to an iframe player API scenario that detects the end of a YouTube movie and then auto jumps to a different web page.

At first, it did not work in IE (page was blank where YouTube iframe was) so I had the programmer modify the script. I tested in IE 9 and it worked.

Now, I am wondering about lower versions of IE. Checked Google Analytics, and it seems the most common browser for our visitors is IE 8.0, second runner up is IE 7.0.

Thing is, I don't have access to these browsers so used IE tester, and when the page that linked to the YouTube movie came up, I cannot see any of the movie controls that you'd typically get in YouTube. Also, the script did not function.

Stranger, when I clicked on the YouTube link to see the movie in YouTube -- same thing, the YouTube controls were not there. So now I do not know for sure if it is IE Tester that is buggy and unreliable to make this determination.

Taking a guess, but could it be that I need to adjust the height here to further expose more of the movie onscreen? (still cannot understand why the jump to script didn't fire at end of movie though)

Why are some of the browsers not loading?

Some of the browsers loaded after a while but some, such as Chrome and one of the IE versions just sits there going round and round on 0% loaded. I accidentally left one trying to load while I went out shopping and on my return found it hadn't changed from 0%!!

What is the problem here please and what can I do to be able to check my site in a range of browsers?

Using Mac 10.8 Browserlab no longer can create previews. I've tried with Safari, Firefox and Chrome, all with no results.

The errors I get are:

Any ideas?

I am utterly frustrated at the apparent inability to try a different email address when setting up access to BrowserLab via Dreamweaver.

I entered what I thought was the email address that I had used to set up my account... yet, when I hit enter, I had second thoughts. I never received a verification email at the address I used. And, I've since been able to use a different address at the BrowserLab site to log-in, so I know that I should have used this other one.

However... in DW, there is no apparent - or mildly so - way to provide a different email address! If I'm blind, I apologize. Yet, it's not quite usable if it's hiding somewhere.

Terrible usability.

Hi guys,

In Dreamweaver I go into test page using BrowserLab, blank BrowserLab grey screen comes up. There's no 'Browser Sets' to select in the drop down menu, and when I go into Browser Sets at the top to set one up, I can check box the various browsers but the "Add new browser set" button does nothing. So, can't add browser set, therefore can't test site. It just tells me "there is no browser set defined."

Seems like something wrong with that 'add browser set button' perhaps? Please help asap! Many thanks!

BrowserLab is locking me out (signed in on other device??) How can I reset it?

Hi,

I have been using BrowserLab intermittently over the last few weeks but today I have tried many times to log in and test a page, but it keeps going round in circles eventually signing me out and telling me that unfortunately the "session timed out or I am signed in on another computer" which is not possible, I have just one machine for testing.

Please let me know how I can successfully get BrowserLab working again? I have tried clearing cache and resetting safari (5.1.2 / mac) to no avail.

My adobe ID is karen@thisisamagazine.com.
