'Free Trial' web app which requires payment after trial period is over

Does anyone have any ideas on how to build a 'free trial' web app which subsequently requires payment after the trial period is over? For example a service which allows a user access for 30 days without charge but charges a monthly fee after that. Am not sure whether this would be two web apps (one web app which requires payment, one which doesn't) with data links so user can extend listing without having to re-enter information . . . . or something completely different

I am trying to make a web app that displays different educational features for toys. I have all of the categories laid out and ready to go. They're are supposed to go in that tabbed section, which exists on the module template for individual large product view. I am unable to find a way to display different educational features on different product pages. Is there a way I can do this?

Hi all, I've been building a "Ride board for students", type Web App, and I'm running into an issue. I have everything else working (Ish) so that a driver or a passenger can post a trip. This means he puts the details of his trip (Portland to Eugene) and then another student comes by and sees that they are going the same way. What I need is a way for the another student to be able to accept that trip listed by the driver or passenger. I would like to have a "accept" button just under each web apps item in the "List of web app items" so that when someone sees a trip they like or can use, the click the "Accept" button and the system emails the driver and the passanger the trip detail and then disables the web app item so that it's not in the list anymore. Is any of this possible? and if so, I would love to learn how. Any sugestions are appretiated. Many thanks in advance.

I'm trying to create a quick search for a webapp. They would like the one input field (e.g keyowords) to search across 3 of the webapp fields. Keywords, suburb and postcode. Is this possible? I can see how to insert the webapp search fields (all available fields in the webapp) but I'm not sure how I combine them so that there's 1 input box, that searches 3 fields. Can anyone help? I'll paste the code for the 3 fields that I need combined, if that helps at all.

Adding Video to Product Page

I need to add some short videos to select products in our store catalog. I would like to have the video for the product exist as a poplet. I have tried to simple ad the video(hosted on our BC site) to the poplet section of the product. This didn't work, I didn't really expect it would be that simple. Any ideas on how I could achieve this?

- Use of Camera

- Use of GPS/Location

- Ability to load pre-set images (from web, or updatable via web) into the images taken. (but not merging)

Staff Directory - Blind Email Form

I have a client with a staff directory web app with over 200 employees. The web app includes typical fields such as Name, Title, Department, Image, Description, Phone, Email, LinkedIn. Since their site has launched, they have received an inordinate amount of junk mail due to the email addresses being directly exposed on the site.

What we'd like to do is utilize a singular generic contact form for the entire web app, but instead of sending submissions to a specific workflow it needs to go to the email address in the web app item.

Any thoughts on how one could go about this?

ive finally managed to set up a web app that simply displays an image, headline and text below - great. However what i want to do is to show this on my web page in 2 columns not one. I realise that the text style etc is done within Muse then translated across - however what about altering it from the stnadard listing to a 2 column listing...how would I do that?

Hi,

before re I sign up to BC I want to check if this is possible..I've been told it is if I sign up to the commerce package.

basically I'm setting up a dogs rehoming website. The client will want to upload pics with descriptions themselves...so this would effectively create pages of images when needed...also it would be great to have search fields ie age etc etc

does anyone know if this would be possible?

Hey All

I have setup a dealer locator and it is displaying everything fine and dandy. But what I have noticed is that there if you leave the zipcode blank and hit submits it will display all the locations which is something I do not want. Is there something in BC that can disable this or would I need some jquery to validate?

I would like to get some ideas on the best approach to handle the following scenario.

We have around 100 clients subscribing to a survey service. The surveys are created and hosted on another system which are simply a link click away. That part is simple.

The business need to view responses as follows:

The client should login on the BC site, arrive at a BC landing page displaying the surveys he has commissioned, click on the link (there could be one or many) and views the survey responses on the third party survey system.

This feels like we are going to finish up with a secure zone for each client or is there a way of simply presenting client specific (and secure) Web app data based on their login to a single secure zone where the web app resides.

This would mean we can set the client up in a web app very simply and make admin much easier.

Is it possible to scale and compress images to a maximum size when uploading to a web app? This is for a photo gallery that allows public submissions, and we are anticipating that we will get lots of photos that are very large. This is a task that would be best handled by a server-side image processing lib, but is there another way since we don't have that on BC?

- I have a webapp field entitled "Status".

- I have a webapp fields entitles "Status-Listed".

- I want to have a tag in the description field that is {tag_Status-{tag_Status}} to where if the Status field is set to Listed the result will be {tag_Status-Listed} and will return the value in the Status-Listed field.

- It works, and returns the value:

What I am seeking to do is apply four different types of stylings to the listing, as in Listed, Not Listed, Rejected, No Answer, etc. That way in my directory I can have the status determine the type of look each listing has based upon the Status field.

Hi guys!

I have been watching BC gurus' tutorials on how to make costumer submitted web apps. I have made a new site with the "Satine Boutique"-template. What I want is to make users able to upload pictures to this site, into different product catalogs. (the users can sell theese items)

Is this even possible? The users have to pay a fee for uploading their items. So basically it will be an online store for anyone to sell stuff.

How can I do this in the easiest way possible?

I have a web app for a project database. Customers can login and add a new record to the web app. We need it to provide each new project with a unique and sequential number. The BC ID number for each web app item is unique but of course not sequential (and too long). So for example the client would like all project IDs to be 4 digits starting from 1000. Any ideas?

Is it possible to search two (2) custom fields with one form field?

Think Prosecuting Attorney and Defense Attorney - We believe that users of our site may not remember which side they were on, but that a particular attorney was involved in a case. So I don't want them to have to specify prosecution or defense... but just a name search that will search those custom fields.

Am I making sense? Is this possible?

Sorry, I've looked around to try to find the answer to this and I haven't been able to.

I have two web apps. One, "Locations," holds a list of addresses for several stores, with tags like {location_street_address}, {location_phone_number}. Another web app, "StoreGallery", holds items to be showcased at these stores, and in it i've defined Locations as a data source field. So that for each item, they can associate an item with a specific store.

So in the detail template for StoreGallery I added one of the tags from Locations, thinking that by having defined the data source, the tags from one would work in the other, but they don't. I was only able to find tutorials on how to create the data source field but not on how to actually apply them in templates.

Will a Web App still work when I publish via Adobe Muse?

I am working probono for a client.

I have built him a way to add shows/events really easily using a Web App.

I know if you use EVENTS it will add the event in a Calendar format. Is there a way for me to program it, so that when he adds an event through the web app feature, it will also put it on a searchable calendar? Or will he have to add the show in the Web Apps category and then also in the Events?

Please let me know if I was not clear enough and need picture references.

I can use the following event booking tags within the event bookings module:

The above code works perfectly fine if using the bookings module but when I try to use the code in a web app, I'm not getting any results because, I assume, it's because the tags are specific to the bookings module. As I want to recreate this effect in a web app, does anyone know how I can get the tags to work with my web app?

We are working on a website that will have profiles of users. You can search by zip code, and may have say 100 matches or so for any given zip code. Each "profile" has their own page with their details, etc.

PROBLEM

The owner of this site wants it so the users who are searching and viewing profiles can also contact each user profile through the website.

Each user profile is stored as a web app item and their email address is stored. But we are stumped on how or even if it's possible to have it so a user can contact each user profile through a BC contact form. This can't be done can it? We have only used contact forms that end up emailing whoever is included as an admin user on the workflow we set. Since the account is limited to 5 users and profiles arent actually admin users, we are stumped.

There may be a couple thousand user profiles in this web app when all is said and done.

QUESTION

If you are viewing someone's profile details (which are pulled from a web app), is there a way to have a contact form on the page and feed their email address into the form so that a message is sent to their email address only?

Not sure what we can do. If BC can't do this then maybe we'll just use an off site solution for contact forms only.

For the last 3-4 weeks we have a web app that can longer upload largish files (e.g. 35mb PDF) via a web form Uploads no problem via SFTP.

Adobe so far has provided to answers and can't reproduce the problem.

Yet we (in Auckland) and our client in Wellington have the same problem.

Is there an issue with AWS Sydney, Adobe's setup or has BC introduced some new throttling or security rules around file uploads?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Where it reads Latest news, I have each news piece setup as a content holder with a piece of javascript looping through them.

I want to modify this to use Web apps so the client can add and remove items themselves and have them looping through as they do now.

Using a Webapp I have access to {module_webapps,20117,a} which lists out all the items and {module_webappscount,20117} which gives me a count of the number of items.

Can someone please give me some pointers on how to go about migrating from a content holder setup to using webapps.

I have a web app with a custom field for "Job Title." How do I create a page with all the "Regional Managers"?

I know it's possible with a web app search form. I don't want a form. I just want the page with the results.

I know it's possble using Site Settings "categories." I don't want that, I want to use custom fields.

I don't want to download the entire database and have jQuery sort it on the client machines. It could fail if the database has thousands of records.

The top slider, The area under "The Work" and in a modal window that opens when the view opprtunities link is clicked. The web app list in the "The Work" is rendering out in a table but the other two aren't. I'm not sure why. Does anyone know of a setting oe what I can do to get rid of these tables?

We are setting up a web app driven event calendar at http://shinju.itbandwagon.com.au/events/ for a festival in September. Currently when you go the the calendar it defaults to the current day. Web Apps and Outlook/Google Calendar

I have just fallen in love with the potential of Web Apps- it's already solved one problem for me.

I have an issue I can't seem to get an answer for and wonder if Web Apps could be the resolve.

I have a client who wants to be able to have clients hit "Add event to my Outlook" or "Add event to my Google" Calendar button and have it then do so.

In order to do this MY client has to create a GOOGLE and OUTLOOK event and then enter the code into an event- (besides the fact that I am no longer using the EVENTS module, but instead using a Web App when they add events. It's much easier all around) . This isn't very user friendly for the client.

Is there any way using a Web App you can think of to streamline this process?

Is there a way to upload a ics (outlook event) file instead of an image?

Is there somewhere in the descirption they can enter the Google code for the event and have it generate the HTML code as it should be rendered (not just showing the HTML code and not properly linking?)

I am pretty new to WEB APPS and am sorry I waited so long to dive in. Please be patient with me. Any help is very much appreciated.

RSS Feed in webapp

I have created a rss feed and it works fine.

I have created a webapp that has that rss feed as the default feed.

No new items are added to the rss feed when a new webapp item is added.

I have to manually add the webapp item to the feed. Why have a default feed? What does it do? What am I doing wrong.
