ActionScript Parser in ActionScript?

Hi all,

In the previous and old post (http://forums.adobe.com/message/223435) , people (and I) asked about a parser for ActionScript. My post was never responsed, I am not sure whether the forum is still activated or not?

I need if there is an ActionScript parser written in ActionScript. I know there are (almost complete) parsers for ActionScript (FlexPMD), but this one is in Java and is not very documented (the parser API at least). I need the parser to modify source code (eg. wrap functions). If anybody has an idea, I would apreciate to hear it.

PS: I looked about metaprogramming in AS3 as well, but it seems to be limited

Thanks in advance,
Paul

displaying a user defined function list

I've been using Homesite since Allaire had it and I love it (currently PHP development). There's just 1 feature that I want that it doesn't seem to have and that's the ability to show me a list of user defined functions in the file. Here's the strange part. If I'm working on a file that has nothing but PHP code in it (no stand alone HTML) then the "tag inspector" does, in fact, give me the list of functions I'm looking for. However, if I have php functions 'here and there' inserted into HTML code, the tag inspector gets confused and show just a few, or none of the function.

I do have a saved regex search that does return a clickable list of function to the result window but that only works until you use the results window for something else.

I'm thinking there's a way to use the 'Outline Profile Editor' to create a profile that will show me what I want; basically anything starting with the word "function XY() {...}" but I've never gotten anything to work. Does anyone have any solution?

Thanks,

Class Not Registering

started using my Homesite Ver 5 that I could not create a new
Project - got Class Not Registering when attempted to enter. I did
a plain uninstall/reinstall without benefit. I then searched the
site I found a reference to an elaborate reinstallation Knowledge
Base Article indicating that I should uninstall, clean out all
files in the Homesite5 directory, remove a couple of registry keys
(which were not there) remove two InstallShield Installation
Information files (which were not there) and then move the Install
Shield Engine and Scrip to the desktop and install from a copy of
the Installer Exe copied to the desktop from my CD. I did not do
the latter and the problem remains.

Now that Knowledge base article does not specifically refer
to my situation although one user claimed that solved his problem.
Surely there is a better way. I installed this program at least
three times when I lost a HD and bought a new computer. It has
always worked. I am stubborn but just what file is not registering
- I'll reregister.

Appreciate any help to avoid moving Program files to my
desktop and installing from my desktop - anybody know why it will
not longer works?

Now, for some reason, neither of those work -- when I try
I purchased homesite 5 several years ago. After using it a
while, I had to rebuild my hard-disk,and when trying to re-install
homesite - well I couldn't. I left it a while and now want to get
it going again. I tried re-installing it to no avail. I tried
cleaning both the registry and my hard disk of everything that
contained the word "homesite", but still it would not reinstall. If
it gets as far as having me enter the (genuine) serial number, it
then "creating registry entries" and tells me it has finished
maintainance, all in a few seconds.
In desparation, I have just purchased the 5.5 upgrade, and
tried installing that, selecting "upgrade" on the welcome page, but
the result was exactly the same. I have looked on the adobe support
pages, but short of buying support, can see nothing of any help, or
any contact email addresses.
I am in UK. What can I do next?

time I was using HomeSite 4 and upgraded to 4.5 and writing html
was easy. Will HomeSite now write xhtml as well as it wrote html.
If it does I would like to upgrade to the latest version from the
HomeSite 4.5 still on my computer, unused for a long, long time. It
was great and I would like to go back to using HomeSite again, if
it is to writing the latest xhtml and perhaps xml. Where do I go to

homesite 5.5 resource window will not dock

http://www.borlak.org/images/homesitebr.JPG

You'll notice the resource window (F9) is floating. It wont
re-dock. A coworker has the option under View->Resource
Windows->Dock all windows (or something to that effect). As
you'll see in the screenshot, that doesn't exist for me. This is
homesite 5.5 and I can't find any updates on it, or a fix for this.

If I drag the window to the sides, it doesn't try to re-dock
as you would expect. I've right clicked everywhere on the resource
window looking for some kind of menu option - nothing. I've also
tried double clicking the titlebar of the resource window (typical
way of docking a window), again to no effect.

I found the keyboard shortcut "Dock All Resource Windows" and
tried several different keybinds, and it does not redock the
resource window for me.

I pretty much gave up on homesite due to this and tried a
couple different editors (including dreamweaver), but after a day
of use I would like to go back to homesite, but this is still
bugging the heck out of me. The only thing I haven't tried is
re-installing, but that is a pain in my work environment since I
need admin access and it can take a while to get that done; plus
that option seems a little extreme.

Any help would be greatly appreciated;

I cannot, however, figure out how to specify the string with

Opera8/Opera9 as Preview Browser

Hope someone can shed some light on this:

since Opera 8 I cannot use it comfortably for preview in
browser as it would not get the focus like the other browsers do
and Opera till version 7.54 did. Always I have to switch manually
with ALT-TAB where I then find the respective page correctly
displayed.

It makes no difference if Opera8+ is at top or down the
browser list, neither if DDE is checked or not (as with Gecko
browsers).

In TweakUI "Prevent applications stealing focus" is
unchecked, and with IE5/6, Firefox 1.5/2, K-Meleon there is no
problem with previewing.

The problem exists on different machines of quite different
hardware (for instance P200, P4, Centrino) with all the same
general setup, especially Win2K SP4 SRP1 and Homesite 5 (just in
case it would make a difference with Opera 8+: Homesite 5.2 which I
have packages lying around here would be no solution because of
want of accelerator keys in HTML dialogs).

TIA for any suggestions.

find and replace feature of Homesite 5.5?

Converting many lengthy files from <pre> and <tt>
formats into CSS. Presently the target pages have paragraphs broken
into short lines of text with CR/LF's on every line. I wish to
revert the paragraph back to 'wrapped' text with a single CR at the
end of the paragraph.
I can 'find' and eliminate the " ¶ " symbol from each
line, but I do not know how to "replace " text that should include
this symbol.

text</p><p>¶
This is some sample text to¶
show graphically the problem¶
I am having.</p><p>¶
New Paragraph¶

When what I want is :-
<p>This is some sample text to show graphically , the
problem I am having.</p>¶
<p>New paragraph

Presently I can add hash marks (##) where I wish the
paragraph to end. I then globally remove all the "¶"'symbols
that appear in the text. What I want to do now is replace the ##
with code which would produce the following two lines
</p>¶
<p>

I have tried many different codes, such as chr(13) and \r,
but they all just insert the code as straight text.
Can anyone clue me in?
