ITU.R BS.1770-3 Loudness not implemented in Adobe Audition CC 2014 Amplitude Statistics

The amplitude statistics feature in Adobe Audition CC 2014 is a great tool to quickly analyze the long-term loudness; however, it is currently using an old standard (BS.1770-2) that has been replaced by the new BS.1770-3 for about a year or so now. Is there any reason why Adobe has not updated the amplitude statistic tool to BS.1770-3? I noticed that in the Adobe Audition training videos the TC Electronic Radar is mentioned, which does have the current LKFS reading standard but it is in real-time. While useful, it slows you down since you have to sit through the entire program to get the LKFS reading, unlike the amplitude statistics that scans the file quickly. Please advise.

I have used Adobe for years...I loaded a file that is 16 bit, 44000 and plays when I put it into my Windows Media Player but it won't play when I put into Audition...there are waves and when I hit the space bar it says its playing and the play button is green but there is no audio and the line isn't moving

Does anyone get a slight pause when cutting audios in adobe Audition CC?

I've got an audio of someone talking and he ends in an unnatural high, it's like he didn't close the sentence. Is there a way to change the pitch so that he closes a sentence on a natural low? I trailing the volume off, but I was wondering if there is a better more natural sounding way to do this?

We recorded a video in MP4 format. I have imported it into audition. I see both the audio and video portions and put them in a multitrack session. The video does not play along with the audio. I get a freeze frame or just blank black.???

Mi rivolgo a coloro che usano Audition perchè avrei una necessità e gradirei sapere se il programma mi può esseer di aiuto prima di procederne all'acquisto.

Sono un tecnico in acustica ambientale ed avrei necessità di elaborare dati acquisiti mediante fonometro in classe 1, come richiesto da normativa.

Vorrei capire se il software può sopperire adalcune mancanze delle procedure fornite dal produttore dello strumento attualmente in mio possesso.

Prima domanda:

Posso far sì che Audition registri un segnale audio che gli arriva attraverso una scheda di acquisizione per più giorni? C'è un limite fisico (spazio su disco ad esempio) ? Il programma provvede a salvare a cadenza il file mentre registra oppure tutto deve essere fatto da tastiera a fine registrazione? Se io faccio partire la registrazione, lui procede sino ad interruzione ?

La domanda è motivata perchè il fonometro potrebbe essere lasciato per diversi giorni in un posto anche poco accessibile.

Passiamo al post- processum.

Posso elaborare il file audio acquisito ottenendone per esempio dati in bande di frequenza a larghezza costante (1/1 ottave/ 1/3 ottava, 1/12 ottava) ; ho visto dalla versinoe demo che ho scaricato che posso lavorare in FFT ma non ho trovato la banda costabte.....

Posso ottenere informazioni sui livelli di pressione sonora ? Leq oppure LAeq ? LFmax oppure LASmax del tracciato integrale, ioppure di una parte di esso ?

Posso esportare i dati in file Excel ?

Il mio fonometro acquisisce dati ogni 125 ms, ma il file audio è in continuo. é possibile estrarre i valori di livelli ad intervalli temporali prefissati ?

Problem after installing Windows 8.1

Hi All

I've been a CoolEdit/Audition user for many years and am currently using CS-5.5. I recently upgraded to Windows 8.1 and now find I can no longer record streaming audio.

The only input device that shows on my system is my webcam microphone. There appears to be no Line-in and no option to select it.

The soundcard incorporated in my PC is Realtek.

Can anyone help? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Sequence suddenly not exporting to Audition from Premiere (5.5)

I've been successfully exporting sections of my feature film (not the entire sequence - work area only), editing in Audition, exporting the mix files and replacing them in Premiere. Suddenly I get a long, drawn out error code below. Now, Audition asks for files it cannot find (nor can I), files that are not even connected with the work area I'm exporting, etc. I'm on a deadline, please help if you can. I'm on a Mac Pro 2.66 Ghz Quad core, 26 GB ram running Mavericks. Premiere and Audition 5.5.

I am a longtime Adobe Audtion producer. I started out on Cool Edit Pro and have since worked with 1.5, 3.0, and am now CS5.5. I am currently operating on a WINDOWS 7 platform without issue; however, I am about to upgrade my computer to a much faster WINDOWS 8 desktop.

My question is: DOES AUDITION CS 5.5 play nice with WINDOWS 8.1 or do I need to stick with WINDOWS 7?

Adobe Audition Will Not Save, Export

Hello,

I finished a project in Audition last night and went to export it. When I checked on the export process after a few minutes, it was stuck at 0%. I wanted to restart the program to see if that would fix the issue, so I attempted to save the multitrack session, but it still froze at 0%. I noticed that there were 4 files processing according to the status bar at the bottom of the program. I tried to end the processes, which were saving metadata for recorded files. Only one of the files stopped saving, and the other three are stuck at 66% no matter what I do. I woke up this morning to check the progress and all files are still at 66% with the remaining time increasing rather than decreasing.

I'm assuming the issue is that Audition can only process so many files at once, so it won't save or export while the other files are processing. Regardless, I need to find a way to save my project before force quitting the program. I would greatly appreciate any suggested solutions.

I am on Windows 8, using Adobe Audition CC 2014.1 Build 7.1.0.119. Here is a screenshot of what happens when I try to save:

So for starters I am by no means an expert on audio programs, i mainly cut audios and record. Anyhow, i recently just switched from Cubase to Audition just last week, and i do love it but i got some issues, and this maybe because i'm used to it in Cubase or i just don't know where to look.

1. I have a slight pause while cutting audios in the waveform view. I'm use to playing my audios while I cut in the process without any pauses and Cubase allowed that for me.

2. Is there a way to tell Audition to automatically copy my imports of my files? Cubase did this for me, I was surprised at how Audition didn't do this and when I cut a music file it cut my original. My job I have at work is that I cut VO's with music alot, so cutting original stuff doesn't work for me as I use the same music sometimes in a day. Do I have to make a backup myself?

3. When I'm recording in Audition there's a few seconds delay when the waveforms shows up. In cubase the waveform will show up as I record.

Like I said before I am no experts on audio programs, just mainly cut audios and record, so these things i listed im sure there is a way to do it. I was thinking maybe its my sound card? I just got a brand new macbook pro 15inch just 2 weeks ago, top of apples line. Don't know if my specs will help but I will list them anyways.

Control Multiple Bus Volumes at the Same Time

It seems like this should be easy, but maybe I'm wrong. I've got 12 bus tracks, all of which are an individual outputs. I'd like to group the volume controls for all these tracks so that I can control them at once using an envelope so that I can fade them simultaneously using an automation envelope. I've seen references to "grouping" tracks but the menu option or help file on that is elusive. Does anyone know if this is possible? Seems like a pretty basic function so I'm hoping it's there somewhere...

I am using my V2 Euphonix controller with Adobe Audition 6, that works fine. The 4 faders are attached to the volume indicators of channel 1-4 in Mutltitrack view.

I am using Adobe to record radioshows. My voice on track 2, the music on track 1. While recording my voice on 2 I listen to the track-1 song, so that I can adjust my speaks to the intro of the record. Later I fine-tune that. Would be handy if I could use the track-1 fader to adjust the volume of track 1 while speaking, because at that moment I have the best 'feeling' on how the mix should be. But that seems not possible? In other words: Is it possible to attach the faders to the volume envelopes (yellow lines) of a track?

When I open specific files in Audition, they show empty even though they are playing back in media player. When I press the space bar nothing happens. It's only happening on select files, others are opening fine. What's wrong!

Appcrash with multitrack sessions in Audition CS6 on a MacBook Pro with Windows 7

This is an issue with multitrack sessions different from 44100 Hz in Audition CS6 (as part of a Premium Suite CS6). While multitrack sessions with a sampling rate of 44100 Hz works normally (as long as I use clips with 44100 Hz) any other sampling rate causes an APPCRASH (s. below). Also with the insertion ( in a 44100 Hz multitrack session, of course) of any clip with a sampling rate different from 44100 Hz, the programme crashes in the moment it's going to generate a adapted copy for the multitrack timeline.

Audition is installed on a MacBook Pro Retina 15" ,Mid 2014, Model 11,3, Intel Core i7 4870HQ 2,5 GHz, 16GB RAM with Windows 7 SP1.

I tried all advices of the Adobe troubleshooting site and some of the community.

Especially:

- the simplified mode with user-defined system start

- deactivated user account control

- new user account

- deactivated data execution prevention (DEP)

Also the use of different audio interfaces affords no effect:

- build in Cirrus Logic CS4208 with MME drivers

- Motu UltraLight mk3 hybrid via USB with Asio drivers.

In spite of an extensive search I can't find any similar case in the net.

So, please, can you help me?

Is there a way to have effects individual VST GUI windows open automatically, when applying a custom effects rack preset?

I find it most frustrating when mastering for broadcast, where i use an EQ, Compressor, Exciter, Limiter, WLM & PAZ meter VST in a preset (to quickly add them all to the rack with ballpark settings with a couple clicks), that i have to open each effects GUI window from the rack individually, and that they open on top of each other....

Is there a way to change this i'm not aware of? I have the option "Open effects settings when adding effects to the effects rack" selected in preferences but it doesn't seem to apply here in this instance.

We were shooting a talking head video today, when a construction crew set off some dynamite for a new parking garage.

The entire video was 7 1/2 minutes long, and he was almost finished talking, so I hated to make him stop and do the whole thing over again. Can I use Audition to minimize the noise?

The speaker was saying a word when the explosion happened, in case that matters. It begins at about 6:14.84 and ends at about 6:15.03. So it only lasts about an one-eighth of a second. This is the timeline with and without the area highlighted.

Can this be fixed? Can I do this in Audition? Or another application? I have CC & CC2014 installed.

i take an image and change to cmyk

then split channels

then I want to change each to a bitmap

from bitmap halftone screen/ set the angle ( ie cyan: 85. Screen to 15) ( like for silk screen)

then change bitmap to grayscale------at this point the image barracks up into all sorts of shapes.

also so when I simply want enlarge an image using the keyboard shortcuts of command + the image breaks up as well.

I sincerely hope someone can help me rectify an awkward problem. Yesterday, for some crazy reason, I clicked on a .pkf file and opened it with Adobe Reader. To make matters worse, that infamous little box was checked, and now ALL my .pkf files are opening in Adobe Reader. I've tried reverting to a previous restore point on my PC, but for some reason it's not allowing me to do so. Is there a hidden file somewhere in Adobe Audition where I can find the system's .pkf folder? I'm sure it's there but I can't lay my finger on it. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. BTW, I'm using version CS5.5.

I am using one of the Adobe MAX Surface Pro 3s to do some audio editing with Audition CC 2014.1. I just started using it yesterday with a brand new installation of the software. I was able to record the audio with no problems on the same device using the same software with a Shure USB adapter and a Shure mic. The audio recorded better than it did on my MacBook Pro Retina with the same audio equipment, by the way. MacBook has been tossed into the toilet. Anyway, while editing, my Audition crashes every few minutes or so. It has gotten VERY annoying. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. Rebooted several times, etc. I thought it might be using the bar at the top for zooming, so I stopped using that and when to only keystrokes. Still crashed. I thought it might be using the spacebar to start and stop the timeline, so I stopped using that. Still crashed. I stopped using the track pad mouse on the provided keyboard, and that has seemed to help significantly. Not a clue at this point. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

First off, let me begin by saying that I've been using Audition from way back in the PC days when it was still made by Syntrillium and was called "Cool Edit Pro".

I have faithfully purchased every upgrade throughout the years up until CS6, and now with your company shift to Software As A Service, I can't in good conscience purchase CC or use such products.

If I don't have an option to buy a product from you outright, without this monthly subscription nonsense, then we are no longer going to be able to do business together.

It's a crying shame that I'll be using CS6 until it gets old and crusty.

By that time, I hope you will have come to your senses, and released an offering that can be purchased outright. I really have no desire to switch to WaveLab, but you may very well force my hand on principle.

How to visually separate elements in a pre-recorded song?

I'm hoping to use Audition in a research project to study patterns in music. I just downloaded it last night and I'm using the trial period to evaluate if it will meet my needs. I am running the program on a Mac.

As stated above, I'm hoping to use Audition in a research project. to study patterns in music. I need to be able to do this with pre-recorded songs (songs downloaded from iTunes). I do not need to actually separate vocals or other elements (i.e. only hear one or the other), but I am hoping to be able to visually see the vocals, melody, base, drums, other accompanying instruments separate from each others (see their separate frequency waves). So for example, I would like to visually see the main vocals increasing in volume, changing from low to high notes, seeing a note sustained for a period of time, and noting how these patterns coincide with other elements in the song.

I am very much a novice so I am not able to describe this in "music terminology". I have seen the "frequency displays" when playing a song that show the right and left channels - but all the elements are merged together making it impossible to really visually see any patterns. I've tried to play around with some of the options in the effects menu (Amplitude and Compression; Filter and EQ), but I have not found an option that provides what I'm looking for.

Does Audition provide the feature I'm hoping for? Can someone help point me in the right direction for achieving this?

Audition CS6 Multitrack - clip in/out points arbitrarily changing

Using CS6 on Win7 64bit in multitrack mode.

Assembling music and voice clips on the timeline to make a programme, saving as I go, and working usually from start to finish, CS6 is truncating some clips after assembly and saving, leaving gaps in the sequence, meaning I have to re-edit and resave.

Clips can have ends or beginning truncated, and it happens on music and voice clips, arbitrary timing of removed sections. I can reopen a saved project to find new gaps in work I had already completed.

Thoughts?

Keyboard Shortcut

For some reason, under Keyboard Shortcuts.....I went to Clip and for "MUTE", i put in my "ENTER" key as my shortcut. It worked on my other laptop and on my work computer but whenever i press the ENTER key, it doesn't mute the selection. Any ideas???

Random Notes: Pitch and Duration

I'm new to Audition, running v 3.0.

How do I create random pitches (only the chromatic scale, within specified lowest and highest pitches) lasting for random durations (specifying only 16th notes through whole notes) ?

I want to create a track with random pitches occurring for a specified amount of time or specified number of bars.

Audition 1.5 won't start up

I've been using Audition 1.5 for many years, generally to slow down and transcribe music.

It's been reliable and I have had no problems. I run Windows XP.

Today it won't start up. The message is get is: "There was an unknown error starting the application".

I look in the event viewer on Windows, but see no error messages.

Drilling down into the program, all the sound files are still there.

Earlier this week, I installed Adobe Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements.

Would there possibly be a conflict?

Any advice much appreciated.

Every time I try to export, mix a file, or render a track Adobe Audition crashes. I've tried this with different sessions and I still end up with the same result. Anyone have any ideas!?

Hello!

I work in a broadcast environment and we have just upgraded to Audition from CoolEdit. It was a much needed change and is much better, but there is one problem. When we are doing production, we are getting ads that come out to 29.2 or 28.3 seconds, etc. We need to be able to compress and expand our recordings. CoolEdit was able to shave seconds off within seconds, even with our longer programs that are running 3 minutes. Audition took 15 minutes this morning to take off two extra seconds. Is there a quicker way to do this?

Unable to see files ...

Need some troubleshooting assistance ...

When opening a file in Audition 3.0, I'm unable to see the file in the sidebar. The content and WAV form appears in the main, but the side bar to the left remains completely empty. Any suggestions to fix this problem?
