Premier Elements 12 / Video stops while I'm doing other things / how can I change this?

Hello and first sorry for my bad english, hope you understand my question anyway...

While I'm using Premier Elements 12 I would love to do different things in the same time. For instance I watch over a Video and watch the full length like 30 Minutes... and every 5 Minuts I have to correct something with the program. So I use facebook in the same time. But everytime I click at the facebook window, Premier elements stops the play of the video. For me it's annoying cause most oft the things I have to correct are related with the sound not the video itself... so it pause while I'm answering a friend and when I start it again... Is there any possibility to let the video move on while I do other things? I didn't find anything But maybe somebody has a clou for me?

Thank you very much

Lumida

bluray authoring in premiere elements

I downloaded the latest version of adobe premiere elements over a month ago to try it out before deciding on a purchase. I was not happy with the video capture section because it seems all videos are captured with a 4:3 aspect ratio - even 16:9 source videos! so I proceeded to uninstall premiere elements. However, I have since decided that a purchase is possible if the bluray authoring section meets my requirements. It has been over a month since uninstallation so I cannot install again without purchasing premiere elements. Therefore, I have a few questions which when answered will enable me decide whether or not to make a purchase. my questions are as follows: can bluray video be authored with both mpeg 2 and avc h264 codecs? If so, can these codecs be used for both standard definition( 720x576) and high definition(1280x720; 1920x1080) resolution video? Is a range of bitrate provided for these codecs for example between 5 and 15 mbps or just already preset bitrate values for example 5,7,10, 12 mbps?( please specify bitrate values) For audio, are both dolby digital (ac3) and lpcm provided and if so what bitrates are used?

Can anyone in the PE community help?

Thanks,

Hugh Goodheart

hughgoodheart@post.harvard.edu

Device Error-The Target Device Isn't Suitable For Use

I read this in another forum after I experience this problem. Hope it helps some of you. I encountered the problem when I was exporting my finished movie. I had added a few effects like transitions and menu makers as well as stop markers to my timeline. When I went to Share, Create Disc and was exporting to a folder on my drive so I can preview the movie before I actually burn it to a Disc. During encoding well after 50% it stopped and said "DEVICE ERROR-THE TARGET DEVICE ISN'T SUITABLE FOR USE". I tried a few things that were normal when trying to export.

1. Restarting.

2. Created a new folder.

3. A different drive.

4. A DVD-RW.

Nothing was working, so I turned to Adobe forums and others like it. I found that Stop Markers can cause problems as well as some menu markers. It advised to delete the markers and try exporting again. Sure enough it worked, it exported with no problem. But I didn't like that after watching to video and reaching the end it would go to the next chapter without going back to the menu like most DVD videos do after playing. So I restarted Premiere and added all my Stop Markers to the timeline and began to export the movie and it worked just fine. I'm guessing that it just needed to be deleted and added again later after doing a restart so the computer has a fresh cache. Restarting computer works well after 1 hour of editing.

These tips may work for you and not for others. Hope it does. It work better for those who use multiple processors. The requirments that Adobe recomend are way to low.

Premiere Elements 8 is a resource hogger and all others to be exact.

1. Multiprocessor is a must.

2. Memory: 2 gigs minimum, the more the better.

3. Tons of Hard Drive space (20 min video can exceed over 25 gig of space with editing and effects for a PROJECT)

4. Graffics card with 1 gig of memory minimum.

Tips for working with Premiere Elements.

1. Before you start Premiere, turn off Anitvirus software. This helps on CPU/Memory usage.

2. Start your Premiere software, during Premiere opening at which time go to Task Manager (ctr+alt+del) and under processes tab find Premiere Elements and right click, you will see Set Priority and set to HIGH (the computer will let the program run faster and ease up on CPU/Memory, if you restart comp you will need to repeat this) NOTE: I have experienced after closing Premiere to do something else and then to restart it may not want to open Premiere for some reason or another, just go to processes and End Process for Premiere and restart Premiere and it should open. This happens even when not following this tip.

NOTE: After working in Premiere for upto an hour at a time you may want to restart your computer, this will clear out all memory cache and lets your computer run fresh again.

DISCLAIMER: I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY IN THESE TIPS CAUSING ERRORS ON YOUR COMPUTER.
More Serious Premiere Elements 9 Display Issues/Another Adobe Fix

In Premiere Elements 9 Get Media/"DVD Camcorder or PC Drive", we find the Video Importer which replaces the Adobe Media Downloader of Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1. When exploring ripping VOBs from a DVD-VIDEO with feature, I ran into serious Premiere Elements 9 ONLY display problems

a. A thumbnail image of the VOB would present in the Video Importer Media Area, but the new preview window in the Video Importer would preview/playback the VOB’s audio, but the preview window of the Video Importer would not display the video (black screen instead).

and

b. When the VOB was copied by the Video Importer to the workspace’s Media Area and Timeline, there was an image of the VOB in its thumbnail in the Media Area, but the video on video track 1 was not displaying in the Edit Mode Monitor. Audio was OK. Oddly, this non AVCHD and non DV AVI content was presenting with no red line over the Timeline AND, if you did a minor edit to force a red line over that Timeline, then the red line would appear over that Timeline content and that Timeline content would then display in the Edit Mode Monitor.

c. In the same time frame as when the above was encountered in Premiere Elements 9 tryout, all was working just fine in Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1 with same “everything” in this regard.

After much unsuccessful exploration and experimentation of the issue, I was fortunate to find the Adobe documentation on this which directed the issue to JUST the Premiere Elements 9 tryout and its VideoRenderer.dll for which Adobe supplied a downloadable replacement. See route Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Elements 9\

See the Adobe documentation “Playback Issues in trial versions of Adobe Premiere Elements 9”

http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/870/cpsid_87080.html

Although the documentation says “This playback issue would be most likely seen with TOD, DSLR, HDV, MOD, VOB file formats in case matching project preset is used”, I suspect that this problematic VideoRenderer.dll may have created display issues outside of the confines of that statement. More on that another time.

ATR

Actions for converting aspect ratios

Here is a little tip if you want to resize your camera images for a slide show.

I needed to convert and resize my 3008 x 2000 RAW images to PAL Standard for a slide show. I use PS CS3 and I was using IMAGE>Pixel Aspect Ratio to convert the file then IMAGE>Size to resize to 720 x 576. I decided to create an Action to autoamte the process and when I opened up ACTIONS lo & behold Adobe have already created an Action for all the NTSC and PAL formats.

All it takes is to open your image, select Actions and select the format you want, that is it. All I need to do now is create a Batch File to automate a over 200 image files.

If like me you use PSD files then they must be flattened first and the Action is not written for images in portrait mode, these have to be done through IMAGE>Pixel Aspect Ration and then IMAGE>Size with the width and height transposed and Constrain Proportions unticked.

Doug.

PYRO A/V Link XP,Vista, & Win7 switch settings + info for use in PE7

I see a lot of confusion regarding capture glitches and switch settings using the PYRO A/V Link. I looked at Canopus and others before I bought this one because it fit my budget. After I bought it I went through the glitches and the Support system of ADS Tech problems that others are experiencing. The settings I use worked on my Vista 32 bit laptop and without a hitch when I got my Windows 7 64 bit desktop using PE7. I"m sure they will work for PE8. I have a ton of VHS tapes that I am working with so my point of reference is for VHS capture. I am also using NTSC.

If you are ordering one what you will be ordering is an API-558-EFS. Or maybe you are using one of the API-550 units. Thjis information should work fine for the 550. There is NO API-558 unit unless this has changed since I bought mine. The BOX with an API-557, a power cord, and an outdated API-550 user manual is what constitutes an API-558. I know this because an irate ADS Tech rep told me. I emailed to find out why I didn't get an API-558 and that is what I was told. "We no cheat you. You got what you pay for".

I checked for updated drivers and info from ADS Tech and found a REVISION E. You can go online to their website and print it off if you like but I will dialog on this revision in the switch settings. I tried to get the ADS Tech rep to give me a serial number break as to when they changed from the 550 to the 557 units but did not get an answer. I think he said REV.E started with the API-557 but who knows seems to be answer.

Switch settings: I use #1 DOWN #2 UP #3 DOWN #4 DOWN and here are the reasons why.

The API-550 booklet/user manual shows a few windows versions. I refer to Windows XP because Vista and Win 7 seem to be offshoots of XP.

SWITCH NO. 1 for the API-550 (the API-557 and Vista and Win 7 are not in there) says DOWN for NTSC and Up for PAL . REV E says this has been changed to a black level (Color IRE) down being 0 IRE and up being 7 IRE(default). The ADS Tech rep told me the new unit Automatically detects NTSC or PAL. Do I believe him? Not at this point in time.

SWITCH NO.2 was not changed with REV.E UP for XP, Vista, and Win 7

SWITCH NO.3 was not changed with REV.E DOWN for XP, Vista, and Win 7

SWITCH NO.4 was originally (for the API-550) DOWN for LOCKED AUDIO and Up for Unlocked Audio. REV E. changed this to Down =12-bit/32kHz and Up =16-bit/48kHz Audio Sampling Rate

At this point in time I believe I have an API-550 with an API-557 sticker on it. My reasoning is that I import one long stream (60 to 90 minutes) of video from VHS into PE7 without stopping and after making a DVD where the video and sound separated further and further to about 5 minutes off at the end. I went back to switch #4 LOCKED AUDIO. I also didn't care about black level so I set the #! Switch DOWN fo make sure of NTSC. Depending on which unit you think you have you can experiment with the first and last switches. It is possible on short video you might not notice the video/audio separation. ALSO PE7 identifies the unit as an API-550 at the top of the capture screen/panel.(Capturing Device) Whether or not this is the result of windows drivers I don't know.

Connections I have a VHS/DVD Recorder unit with HDMI and Component Video (3 Video and R & L Audio) output. The PYRO AV link has Component Video IN which I use and the Canopus did not as I recall. I don't know what the other various units have as they were over my spending limit. The quality of Video I get seems really good.. If you are thinking about upgrading your VHS player look on the Back of the unit you think you want to buy and see if it has the Component Video output. The users guide says for DVD player out on my machine but works fine for VHS out. To connect the Pyro to computer you need Firewire as others have said. No USB connection.

One Major Glitch; Get off the Internet (as others have said) before you start trying to do video. This is even more important with an underpowered computer. My laptop had a switch I would flip to disconnect. My desk top Internet connection has to be disabled. or unplugged from router, or turn router off if you don't need it for other computers. If you don't know how to watch your task manager learn how to bring it up and watch it to see cpu and memory usage and the ammount of processes being used. RESTART the computer maybe more than once. What you will notice will be the number of processes being used will drop and the ammount of memory being used will drop. Restarting seems to dump all the Internet garbage at least till you get back on again and surf around and collect it again. I used to leave mine off the internet for several days and the movie making went smoothly. On my laptop it took up to 10% of the memory and the desktop takes 6+% of 12GB just to be on the internet. I started noticing this early on when things would lock up and I would have to restart anyway.

Starting; After you get off the internet, restart, bring up the task manager, and watch till things settle down to about 0 cpu usage, start PE7 or whatever Video program you want. Watch the task manager again and when everything is down to about 0 cpu usage, start a new project in the welcome screen. Where you want to put your project and how you name it is up to you. I make a new folder and put Everything in there. If you use an external hard drive make sure you dont forget to have it hooked up and on when your video program goes looking for projects the next time you open one up.

After you push ok and the selections come up for what type of video you are working with Click on the NTSC DV and it will give you a choice of 4:3 or 16:9 Wldescreen. I use the standard 4:3 because all of my footage is old and when playing a DVD later on, the newer TVs seem to be able to widen it out and on older TVs things look normal anyway. I click done and when mainscreen comes up select Get Media. I again select DV ( Camcorder) and the capture Window opens up.

I fire up my VCR, put a tape in and plug in the PYRO unit. I don't know if that's bad or not, I just got tired of pushing the teeny power button on the unit so I just plug or unplug the PYRO power cord. If the red light is not on the front of the PYRO push the button next to it and hold briefly. When you let go the Red light should be on for Analog. When you hook up one of these to the computer Windows may install a driver. Some firewire devices say you don't need a driver. With the PYRO TURNED ON, if you open up DEVICE MANAGER you will see the Pyro show up under IMAGING Devices. Imaging Devices does not show up in my machine until the PYRO is plugged in. Then when Imaging Devices shows up mine says AD API-550. Click on properties, then driver, and windows shows a driver. Says its an older driver but it works. If you don't see it listed before you try to import video you may have other issues.

Play some video through your VCR and make sure the light stays Red on the Pyro. You should see the Video in the Capture Window and also hear the audio. I let my VCR do some auto tracking, play and rewind and zero the counter when I reach the point I want to push the capture button. After a few times you can pretty much tell where the tape needs to be at the point you push capture. When capturing it will say capturing and a red line will appear around the window. If you push pause, that segment is pretty much a done deal. If it didn't capture enough video you may have to rewind and capture again and leave the first capture out of your project.

If you have glitches or the capture is screwy you may have to exit the project (save it if you alrerady have existing material in) RESTART and try again, or delete and start over. Once you learn what you want to do you shouldn't have that problem. I also learned early on to NEVER push the close button in the upper RH corner to close PE7 as you would normally do to close a window or program. PE7 didn't like that. Always use File and EXit.

Always wait for PE7 to settle down on each step before you try to do other things or you are going to lock things up depending on how fast your machine is. I have the Task manager to always be on top of other windows (under options at the top of Task Manager window). If it gets in the road I minimize the window and bring it back up whenever I think things are moving slow or I want to check something.

I have used this procedure for other movie programs and capture always works. Hope it works for others using PYRO. Hopefully I was to the point and this makes sense. Bill Hunt suggested I maybe post this to Muvipix but when I visited the Muvipix site there was Pyro stuff all over the place and I wasn't sure where to post. Maybe after he reads this he may not want me to post. Or If he thinks its ok material maybe he can scoot it over to Muvipix for me. Thanks again. I will watch this post to see if I was unclear on anything. Or if you guys clear up any mistatements you think I made.

PrE Timeline like PrPro (with separated Audio and Video Tracks)

I don't remember where was the question about PrPro-like Timeline but the solution is Here

As You probably know in PrE You have always AUDIO next to the VIDEO tracks... always? Well NO!

There is a way to add AUDIO and VIDEO separately or delete only AUDIO, or only VIDEO track.

Choose menu [Timeline]->[Add Tracks] (or RMB on left panel of the Timeline)

Step 1: Choose as many VIDEO Tracks as You need with "After Last Track" placement

Set AUDIO to 0

Step 2: Choose as many AUDIO Tracks as You need with "Before Last Track" placement

Set VIDEO to 0

TIP1

If You want to delete a particular track You can do it.

Be sure You have placed any content on tracks You want to leave.

Choose menu [Timeline]->[Delete Empty Tracks] (or RMB on left panel of the Timeline)

Track without any content will be deleted.

TIP2

It's good to have at least one track as VIDEO/AUDIO (linked) as a drop field, because in PrE You can't drop only VIDEO or only AUDIO to timeline.

If You drop AUDIO/VIDEO source file to an VIDEO track PrE will add AUDIO track to it automatically.

You can always ALT+LMB on AUDIO (or unlink), delete it, delete empty tracks if needed.

TIP3

You can rename Video, and Audio Tracks to fit PrPro-like layout.

TIP4

Unlink Video and Audio and Distribute to corresponding AUDIO and VIDEO tracks. (f.e. AUDIO 2 and VIDEO 2 tracks)

You can link them again.

TIP5

Save this prepared empty file as your startup file. Than just copy it to a location of new project and start from it.

It's good to name it f.e. STURTUP.prel_

After You copy Your template file change name to MYPROJECT.prel (without "_")

This "_" in extension will help to not open and remember to copy->rename->use.

TIP6 IMPORTANT

I don't think it's good to simulate PrPro Timeline layout in PrE, because it's not to comfortable to use PrE this way.

But if You want You know the solution now.

Any questions?

Thanks

Adam

Using Auto- Analyzer for Scene detection only (and save time)

As a completely new user of Premier Elements 8 (running on a AMD phenom 3 core, 4g Ram, 500G Sata HD, Win Xp prof) I brought into Organise in the PE8 workspace clips imported in through Windows Movie Maker from my old DV video camera. I wanted to dectect the scene boundaries so I ran Auto-Analyse from the PE8 workspace. This took upto 4 hrs to analyse a 1hr clip which puzzled me as Movie maker only took about 20mins to detect the scenes on a much slower and lower spec laptop.

Tip

If you just want to Scene Detect don'r run Auto-Analyze from Premier workspace instead start with your first clip via the Organiser. Reason - In the PE8 workspace "Edit" "preferences" Auto-Analyze does not appear so it will run with the defaults which is all tag options selected e.g "focus" "face recognition".

Instead go into Organise from the front page launcher, in "Edit" "preferences" Autoanalyse does appear with all the tag options selected as default If you deselect all options and then run Autoanalyse on the video clip only scene detection runs on the video (the 1 hour clip was analysed with just the scene boundaries in less than 15mins!) The change from the default seems to apply when you run from the PE8 workspace after this so subsequent scene detection on other clips runs quickly.

P.S.

Old hands may know this trick but so far I had not picked anything up from the web based docs and information - so this is for novices such as myself. There may be other ways of scene detection but in my limited experience have not come across any yet.

I think we casual users misunderstand ....

After 5 years of using Nero, I decided I had had enough with bloatware and switched to Premier Elements. After a *very* frustrating start, I think I have the basics down, and I know why so many casual users are so frustrated with the program. I won't apologize for buying a DVD camera ... I could afford it, I can easily import it and play it, even if I don't run it through an editor. Premiere Elements is a consumer program and we expect it to work with consumer equipment.

First, we amateurs (read the greek root "doing it for the love of it") expect a program that lets us know in no uncertain terms that it is WORKING. When I import .vob files from my Canon DC410 DVD , Premiere Elements either just sits there, or has a tiny little bar at the corner of the window that says "indexing," or "conforming" the file. Then the program seems to hang. Not so! Even though I have a 'puter that exceeds the specs required, the program is SLOW importing and converting. I have found that opening a stock project with settings that match the video, importing the .vobs into the organizer first, and then right-clicking on a file in the organizer, then selecting "edit in Premiere Elements" works best. BUT you have to wait until Premiere finish indexing and conforming the file before you add the next one. That's where you have to look at the tiny little status bar at the lower right-hand corner of the window. And that progress bar often hangs at 98%, so you just have to hope and import the next one. As you import the files through the organizer, the files disappear from the organizer screen, and appear on the Premiere organizer screen one by one, each replacing the las one, and each is added at the end of the timeline after a lengthy period of indexing and conforming. The best part is that often Premiere does not give ANY indication that it is importing your file if it has not finished indexing and conforming the previous file you imported. Everything seems to freeze, but if you go away, fix supper or run to the store, when you come back, everything is done.

I think the "freezes" that so many report is just that the program is working and it gives no indication that it IS working, and that what we have asked it to do will take some time, and the user is impatient. Having started my computing in 1984 with a state-of-the-art Tandy EX with 2 floppy 5.25 drives and Compuserve, I understand about things taking time.

Real proxy editing - a new (?) method

Whenever proxy editing is discussed here, reference always seems to be made to an FAQ outlining a method which doesn't really involve proper proxy files. So I've devised a very simple method whereby actual proxy files are used for editing, then for the final render the real files are substituted. I don't know whether I've simply not found a previous mention here of such a method, or whether my suggestion is actually original, but in case I've indeed come up with something new, I'll outline how it can be done. And if it's old hat, please ignore!

My reason for needing a proxy files method is that here at least, my quad core XP PC does not like using 720p files from my Panasonic GH1 in Premiere Elements 7. It goes very slow and tends to hang when simply putting the clips on the timeline. It's not too bad with full HD AVCHD, but even so it's obvious (and well known) that such footage adds a big load to the system. Perhaps in the next version Adobe will add 'Cuda' support so that some of the load can be handled by the Nvidia card, but meanwhile, working with AVCHD can become a problem even on a reasonably powerful system if the project is complex.

So the idea is that I want to use lower-resolution mpeg2 files for the editing, and then use the real AVCHD files just for the final output.

I have to admit that to use this method, you need to use a third party program to create the proxy files in the first place. There is at least one freeware AVCHD > MPEG2 program "Free AVCHD Converter" at http://www.koyotesoft.com/indexEn.html which seems to be ok but a bit slow. Elecard also do AVCHD conversion software, and several other programs are available - personally I've found that Cyberlink's MediaShow Espresso does a very fast job on a system with Nvidia Cuda, and it's very simple to use. Whatever software you use, it has to be able to take the batch of files you want to work with and convert them to files in the desired format with the same name but a different extension. Using MediaShow, for instance, to convert the AVCHD files here, the source files are named (by the camera) 00000.MTS, 00001.MTS, 00002.MTS etc, and the converted versions are call 00000.mpg, 00001.mpg, 00002.mpg and so on. Remember that you won't be using the transcoded files for final output, so if their quality is a bit reduced it doesn't matter.

Method:-

1 - Using the third party software, create proxy versions of your original. The converted files should be in a format the PE7 can handle (of course) and which will not impose a big processing load on your PC, while providing adequate quality when you are editing. Here, 720x576 mpeg2 16:9 is a good compromise between appearance and performance.

2 - Now start up Premiere Elements, and choose a project preset which would be what you would use with the normal files, not the proxy files. Import the proxy files, not the real ones, and edit in the usual way.

3 - When you've finished editing, save the project in the usual way and exit.

Now you need to replace the proxy files in the project file with the real ones in order to output the completed project.

4 - Open the .prel file for your project using the windows "Notepad" program (or even better, a program like "Notepad++" which is a more powerful freeware alternative that will do the replacement much quicker if the project is complex).

5 - Using the "Replace" function in Notepad (or alternative software) replace the extension of the proxy files with the extension of the real files. In my case I'd be replacing .mpg with .MTS so that the project will use the original AVCHD files. Now save and exit (it would be prudent to use "save as" so that you are not over-writing your edited project in case something is amiss).

6 - Then open the de-proxied project, and use "share" to output as required in the usual way. Here I find that some kind of preliminary processing tends to happen before you see much movement of the progress bar - probably PE7 is having to redo some stuff that it did with the proxy files now that it "sees" the real files in the project. This is a situation where the freeware utility "Bmem" - http://badmofo.org/bmem/ - is very handy because it shows you that something's going on, and it takes up very little space on screen. I have it running all the time and couldn't live without it!

This procedure has been tested a couple of times on my system with fairly simple test projects and seems to work. Your Mileage May Vary - I would strongly suggest you try it first on a test project before you commit a lot of time and effort to using it "for real".

FYI: Premiere 7 hanging during "Generating Peak File" Resolution

Symptoms:

1. A project file is loaded and then Premiere starts generating the audio peak file i the background as shown in the bottom right corner.

2. After the bar reaches the far right end. Premeire stops responding and hangs.

Resolution:

In this case I had an AVI file that had a lot corrupted video and audio at the end of file. Apparently if it reaches the end of file and it is corrupted, it may hang sometimes.

I entered the organize tab, Opened up the AVI file in the organize tab and deleted the corrupted scenes at the end of the file. After this was removed, the peak file generated normally.

There are some other resolutions to this problem in the Premiere Pro forum.

Program or System Crash - Finding Clues

Major system crashes and the dreaded BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) are a cause of extreme worry. They most likely point to something wrong in the computer, and much less often something wrong with a particular piece of Adobe software, however it could well be the use of the Adobe program that triggers the system to crash. This is because image processing and especially NLE and DVD creation work taxes a system. Also see BSOD - A Serious Issue.

Where do you start? Well, the first thing to do is to look at this link, TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS, and provide all of the information outlined in the questions. This will help others troubleshoot your issues for you. Remember, none of us are sitting at your computer, so you have to be our "eyes." The more details you can provide, the easier it will be to help you from our desks.

Next, I’d set the computer to NOT reboot on errors. This will allow you to copy down all of the info on a BSOD. Most will probably be code and references that are cryptic at best, and some so obtuse that even a room full of Microsoft (MS) coders would not be able to glean anything of use from it. Don’t be intimidated by it - just copy down all of the info provided.

If the crash, or BSOD has just happened, reboot, and go immediately to Event Viewer. There are two tabs, that you should be concerned with: System and Application. Open these, and look down the list of events. Pay special attention to yellow "warning" messages, and red "error" messages. Open each of these, and make note of what they tell you. Again, much might well be code references and of little use. However, there can be many clues in these, especially when they contain links. Many of these will lead to the MS site with info on just what happened and possibly why it happened. Some might lead you to a hardware, or software companies’ site. Take careful notes of these and provide them to the forum.

One can also clear the Event viewer for these two tabs and then invoke the crash, or BSOD. This way, you will know that you have the most recent error messages to work with. Take your time, and study each message and link carefully.

After you’ve done this, go to this link, THE CASE OF THE UNEXPLAINED, and watch the MS video. It’s a bit long and does get technical, but in it are some great troubleshooting tips, and also suggestions for tools from MS to help you find your problem.

With the data requested, others will likely be able to help you with your problem.

Good luck,

Hunt
