When importing a German script into Adobe Story Free the umlauts get messed up. They are left out or are shown as signs then. This happens with PDFs and .mmsw files.I am using PC. IS this only affecting the free Version or is Adobe not ready for German?

When I launch Story (Free) from the desktop dock (Mac / Yosemite), I cannot log in or update, and receive the attached error. I've contacted Adobe by email twice and by phone twice - the chat reps say I have to contact the phone reps, and the phone reps say I have to contact the chat reps. Hurumf. What is the workaround here?

A TV series I'm hoping to write for uses Adobe Story and, having spent a while using the free browser version, I've just gone for a monthly subscription - partly to have a separate desktop client, and partly because I hoped that this would bring Story's copying and pasting conventions into line with other Windows programs (e.g. Final Draft and Word, both of which I have used extensively over many years). I've never used Ctrl-x, Ctrl-c and Ctrl-v for pasting, preferring to select text with mouse or keyboard, right click copy or cut, and then paste with shift-Ins (0 on the numpad).

But even in Story Plus there are no editing functions if one selects text and then right clicks, and neither does shift-Insert work. I'm forced to use Ctrl-x, Ctrl-c and Ctrl-v, as per the Web version. Is there any way round this? Is this going to be enabled in a future version? At the moment, I must say, it's hard to see the subscription surviving into a second month - it's great having a desktop client, but it's no easier to use than the free version.

Instead of a 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. format of numbering there are random sub numbers. Like this, 1, 2, 2A, 2B, 3, 4, 5, 5A.... etc. It seems to be random and I can't get it to go away. Please help me format my script so that this doesn't happen. I have never had this problem before.

I don't know what is causing it. Just huge random gaps in the text, as if I held down the enter button. I can't delete the space and it won't go away no matter what I do. I can't type in the blank space either. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

I am making a script with an 2 column AV format and I cannot seem to hit "enter" in the video column without creating a new scene.

For example, I'll start with "CUT TO:", then hit enter - which creates a new scene when all I wanted to do was write what I wanted to cut to.

The thing is, I have already written 4 pages of this script and I don't remember having this problem (one would think that I remember something like that), so maybe I am just missing something obvious from not enough sleep haha

Does Story have the vertical lining script for coverage feature?

I see that you can create shots and there is a horizontal line situation but what about the traditional vertical lines on the page that represent coverage. Can story do that? Is there even a way to manually do it in story?

HI,

I have just started using Story.

Earlier today I worked on a script using the desktop app. When I finished I saved it and shut down.

Later in the day I opened the desktop app on another computer expecting the script to be there but it wasn't there. There was an old "_backup" version from much earlier (i.e. no good to me as it was not up to date). There were also a couple of reports I had generated that had references to items that were in the latest version of the script so I know it must be/have been there in some form.

Where might I find the script?

Hey all.

Since upgrading to Mavericks and the new Safari that comes with it (8.0), I've had no luck accessing Adobe Story from my browser. After I login I simply get the screen of Adobe Story contentiously loading. Any word on fixing this?

How do we add more character coloured dots in the Acts Outline?

How do we add more character coloured dots in the Acts Outline? We cannot be expected to limit the number of characters to six. I think it's a great tool to keep track of character appearances.

Someone some time ago has suggested to make the dots dynamic. I fully disagreed. I prefer to have more dots and leave them static as they are. It's a great tool as is. We just need more.

Hello,

I have Adobe CC Plus and I have worked with Adobe Story online for a while. I recently went to download the desktop version and once the installation process is complete (having the "Start application after installation" box checked) a prompt comes up saying:

"Sorry, an error has occurred.

The application failed to launch or re-launch properly."

Then going into the program and launching it directly from the short-cut created, the front log-in screen appears fine. However! The button to 'Sign in' is broken. It acts as though I can click it, but when you do nothing happens. I have tried every way to install this program using different browsers and the same thing keeps happening. Please help!

I am trying to use adobe story free for the first time. Joined adobe cloud. Uploaded latest flash. Cleared all cash.

can load in, but when hit get started the screen has "ST ADOBE STORY" and a orange bar like it is loading, but does nothing else.

one post suggested trying a different browser, I was using chrome. I use IE, and it immediately went to the same place. it skipped join, sign in .....

The Adobe Story website isn't working at all. When you try to log in you see this message:

I've tried this at home and at work on separate computers so it isn't a network or computer fault. This needs looking into immediately. I have deadlines to hand things in all week and can't currently access any of my work.

Adobe Story not logging in

Using Chrome 37.0.2062.124, Internet Explorer 11.0.9600.17278 and Safari 7.1, when I go to story.adobe.com I get a message saying DNS lookup failed.

If I try and go online with Story Plus it says my computer is not connected to the internet.

I chatted with Adobe help just now and he ran all kinds of diagnostics on my computer and there was nothing wrong with my internet.

It also seems to be not just my computer but my laptop, my wife's laptop and my daughter's PC tablet all say the same thing.

Do you need any more info?

Servers have been down all day today, and I see zero communication from Adobe on this issue. What's the ETA on repair?

On a side note: the decision to make Story's primary interface online was a horrible one. I should never, ever lose access to my scripts because your servers went down. Both the desktop and online apps are great, but the fact that I have to access the online site to even download the desktop app is maddening, especially in situations like this (my system was recently re-imaged, so the desktop app is not installed, leaving me zero options). It would have been convenient to re-install Story when I installed every other Adobe app that I use from the CC download list; but it's not there, for some odd reason. This is just a bad user experience in multiple ways, and it doesn't have to be. Makes me think Adobe is trying to kill Story; I can't see any logical reasons to have made such odd-ball moves.

Skip Lines (Enter Key) in Adobe Story AV Scripts

I'm working with Adobe Story online (not desktop application). I just began an AV script. My project requires that the visual aspects only come in every once in a while, and I need them to match up with the text they coincide with. I don't know how to do this because neither column allows me to "skip lines" using the enter/return key. After writing one line, I am able to hit enter and go down to the second line, but I can's skip any more lines. I need to be able to skip multiple lines on both sides since this is starting out as more of an outline and will grow into a full script with significantly more text than video/visual information.

The add image button is grayed out. I am using Story Free but have a Cloud license. None of the upgrade buttons work.

I have a cloud license but am not able to upgrade Story Free to the Plus version for some reason. In any case I cannot add images to my multi column script because the add image button is grayed out. Any ideas would be welcome.

Hi,

I have tried to upgrade to Story Plus and the button only takes me directly through to CC page which has no options for leasing Story Plus.

It has me worried. Is this just Beta software? I have spoken with Adobe customer support on the phone and they said that Story is only supported via forums and sold by resellers. So it is not part of Adobe CC?

If I cannot even buy it online, and there is no customer support, how am I to trust this software?

Any thoughts?

Adobe should remember that this type of software is designed to support a production, which means that it has to support a project worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

I am adobe creative cloud member. i am paying $29.99 for the master collection. anyhow. i just noticed something new. adobe story plus.and the touch app. right now my training is only photography . Thats what I went to school for. I am planing to go back to school for my BA. either in Digital media or photography and digital media certificate. thats what i am thinking. anyhow. i am wondering what is adobe story plus? is it a web browser software right now. or is it a application like photo shop for desktop? video is going to be one of the items i am going to be working with. i have the basics. so but i am only into documentary film production. like what national geographic does. how can i benefit from adobe story plus?

How to Color Code Tags

HI,

Usually when tagging scripts, each department is a different color. I.e. Speaking actors, red, props purple, etc.

How do I assign colors so that when a prop appears in the screenplay it will be purple? I noticed on still image in documentation where it looked like this was happening but there was no documentation as to how to achieve this.

When the script is exported to pdf, will it still show the color? In Celtx I was able to color code the break down and see it onscreen, but when the script printed in pdf format the text became black again.

Generate scene shot list

I'm wondering if there is a way to generate a shot list for a scene in Adobe Story.

I have a shooting script that has been marked up with shots in each scene (we've assigned camera, shot size and a description). There doesn't seem to be a simple way to create a shot list from each scene. Is there a button I've missed?

I used a school computer to sign up for Adobe Story and began my coursework there. When I tried continuing the work at home, i logged in and it said there was and update, so i accepted the terms. After this my work I had nearly finished has completely disappeared. Can someone help me regain it? Is it possible?

I am on a mac book pro, latest version, I am trying to go online, work online, in order to sync with the cloud so my writing partner can see the latest draft. never had an issue before and now it won't go online. I have signed out, closed the app, signed back in, tried different wi-fi's etc etc. nothing is working and I am needing to force quit the app because it is just not responding. I get the spinning beach ball.

Greek support in Adobe Story Plus

I'm a paying member of the Creative Cloud and love the products. Before starting my membership, I had tried using Adobe Story (the free version) but quickly realized Greek is not supported. While one can change the default font to Myriad, which supports Greek, this only is true for the main writing area, since all other areas and options (like the Scene summaries on the left, or any kind of exporting) don't support the language.

Sadly, this is what the case for all popular screenwriting applications; none supports Greek, except for Fade In (which you can't say is an industry standard). And I'm not talking about the interface, but for the actual writing and exporting capabilities. I understand that the Greek customers are nowhere near the number of English or French speaking ones. But isn't that a bit unfair? I mean, we all pay the same, so we all have the right to be able to use the applications we're paying for. I'd also love to make use of the connection between Story and Premiere Pro, which I can't do right now.

And my question, of course, is: are there any plans to partially or fully support non-Latin languages and particularly Greek on Adobe Story in the near future? And if there aren't, why not?

Hey ya'll!

I can't find my adobe story plus offline files. I had to clean everything off my computer - because it had to get fixed. So I backed everything off the computer with windows easy transfer on a external hard drive. When I put it back on the computer, and reinstalled story, my offline files were gone. How do I find these? Thanks for your time!

Failed to Import Document

I am attempting to Import a .pdf version of my script. I also tried a .doc version. It only imports the 1st page and then give an error stating 'failed to import document'. I am using Windows 8 and latest version of Google Chrome. I am using Story Plus. This happens in all browsers that I've tried. I have to have this imported today if anyone can help me. Thank you!

Could you add a different mono type font than Courier STD which lack of support other than western european languages?

Just add Your own great font Source Code Pro | Typekit if font’s licence is the case, and you can’t use something like: Courier Prime | Typekit

There has been some issue about it:

- Re: only english/roman characters?

- Change language to Polish in Adobe Story

- CE font in Adobe Story (ISO-8859-2)

- Use adobe story with Dutch language (spelling)

Hi There,

Started using Adobe Story Plus to collaborate with a writing partner. Here a few requests/observations in my short time using it. I'm working mainly in the desktop app but have most the same issues in browser:

1. Copy/Paste hotkeys typically don't function - I have to manually go to the menu and select copy then paste. This is the only application I have this issue.

2. Spell check is pretty poor - often doesn't give suggestions on minor misspellings.

3. Dual Dialogue Function

4. Google Docs Collaboration Functionality - Two users log into the same document and can see one another type and make changes in real time. This is what makes Google Docs such a powerful tool for teamwork and it'd be great to get it in a script writing application.

5. Multiple tabs - It'd be nice to have multiple projects open at once in tabs, the UI implies this is possible but it's not. I currently work by having a browser open with one project and the desktop version with another.

6. Delete Remembered Names - When entering a character name Story assists by suggesting character names that start with similar letters. An annoying aspect is if I enter the name with a typo and then go back and change it, Story will remember and suggest both the proper name and the typo name. It'd be helpful to be able to delete names from the suggestion list. I created an entire new document to get around this issue.

I have just begun using Adobe Story Free and was wondering if you were able to use the collaboration tools with this version or if you needed to upgrade to do so.

If you do need to upgrade to be able to use the collaboration tools, then would the other party (my friend in this case) need to upgrade as well, or just me?
