Hello, I am a new user to After Effects. I bought the creative suite a while back and now have some extra time to learn it.

I want to but the After Effects CS 5 Classroom in A Book for as an ebook, but before I spend the money I would like to know if there will be a link for me to download the chapter files. I Anyone have an answer?

Can't save AdobeTV tutorials to My Library.

I have started using Adobe TV and am enjoying the tutorials but I can't save them to My Library.

I am logged in (It says I am) but the word Save Tab under the video and next to Translation is inactive.

The cursor turns to a hand but clicking has no effect. My Library is empty. I have tried this on two separate days.

Is there another Save to Library button? I searched the page but the word "Save" only occurs once.

If I click on Translations, that works.

I am new to this; digital photography, CS6 and this forum. So please excuse my clumsiness. Somewhere there is a list of all the information I should post with my question. I do not know how to access this list. So, this is my first inquiry. How do I become more fluent in this forum?

I have been struggling for over a year trying to get my prints to look anything like what I see on my screen.

Adobe phone help was entirely useless. Epson has been patient but not necesarily helpful. Today, in my tenth phone session with them, we may have stumbled upon something. Rep had me print my test print in Photoshop. Awful, as usual. Then he had me print the same print in Preview. Much closer (tho not perfect) to the true color. He said the problem is with Photoshop.

I am too new at this to guess at his accuracy. But the printing through Preview was an eye-opener. The printer can print somewhat accurate to screen version.

Please tell me what info is needed to post an informative question and where to access this list of information. I have a 14 month pileup of photos I would like to print but cannot proceed. HELP.

CS6, I am not working in RAW (That is a whole other universe of confusion for me.)

I understand that this course is borrowed from Linda.com. Do I need to subscribe to Linda in order to download those files or can I Download it from the Adobe tutorial page?

Over the last 9 years as a private individual, I have spent over $8000 on adobe products. Every time anything goes wrong, the only reply I get is it will cost you. I have to put up with the ridicules exchange rate, and excuses that downloading the same product worldwide is dramatically different. Its not that I get anything but US English. What is that by the way, I live in England, we speak English.. So today like any other I am trying to get a simple thing like Acrobat to read a file without constant warnings, I mean I have bought the product more than 5 times but this does not matter. So I try to get through to customer support. An oxymoron in this case). Have been on a phone line now for 27min no luck, just the same incredibly poor music drifting in and out so you think you may have lost contact. When your customers pay so much for the privilege of using your product, stop crapping on their heads....

The updated versions of many of the PDF Help file downloads supposedly for CS6 are now actually those for CC - Premiere, AME, Encore, and Photoshop are all now faulty. The Audition and Bridge downloads cover both CS6 and CC. I do not know about many of the others as they are not of interest to me.

Can the correct CS6 downloads be replaced, please, and separate downloads for CC be added?

Is there a list of Adobe accredited schools for educational pricing?

To Anyone at Adobe: Please Help!! This is regarding Case Number

I am trying to get a simple transfer from one CC subscription to another (less expensive) subscription. The "team" who I guess is in India has been told repeatedly to not call me on a certain number (one that starts with area code 323 as that is my Google Voice number, which doesn't come through to my home phone, which starts with area code 909).

They do not seem capable to understand that simple of a request, so I don't know what else to do except plead for someone, anyone, at Adobe to take pity on me and possibly step in to resolve the issue. Here is the history:

In early July, 2013, I switched from the half off of creative cloud for CS6 owners to the $19.99/month when I discovered this "secret" discount hidden away on Adobe's website: Are there special pricing offers available to purchase a Creative Cloud membership?

I had to subscribe to the new one and then someone at Adobe had to cancel the old one.

I was assured I'd be credited or get a discount for the additional expense and my case would be "escalated" and I'd be taken care of.

At that time I told customer support to not call me on my phone number that starts with 323 (they already had the 10-digit number) but to use my home number. The rep confirmed he'd made that change.

Then Adobe called again on the number I had told them to not use and left a message.

Then Adobe called a third time after I'd written in the case log again to not use the 323 number!

As a result on Adobe customer support being incapable of using the phone number that I'd said to use on three different occasions, the case remains open, unresolved, and is becoming a big waste of time to make a simple change.

Here is the printed history. I don't know what else to do.

I AM FED UP with how Adobe is handling this! Adobe, YOU ARE NOT DOING A GOOD JOB AND YOU NEED TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE.

Here are the issues:

The previous week, when I got called, I specifically told you the number you were using was not good and gave you a new phone number to use. Did you replace the incorrect number with the correct one? NO, you did not. So the July 19th call went to the number I specifically told you previously was not the number to use.
You have now called me on three different occasions to try to resolve my issue with switching from the $29.99/mo CC to the $19.99/mo CC subscription. After I signed up for the lower priced option, you said I'd get a refund of $30 and the case would be escalated. Then you called me to ask me if I wanted a different solution, to which I said, "Give me two months free for all the aggravation this is causing me," and you AGAIN said you'd have to get back to me. And then yesterday's call to the number I told you not to callon had no information and apparently no resolution, so I'm still in the dark as to why you were even calling.
I'm just going to put this here, so that it's in writing: When I signed up for the less expensive subscription, you canceled the original subscription. I received an email stating my Creative Cloud subscription had been canceled. NOT COOL, ADOBE. I currently have no assurances that you've managed this transition properly and that I do, in fact, still have an intact Creative Cloud subscription.
I tried many times on Friday to call you back at your 877 number and only got weird error sounds and then (later) a recorded voice that said there were technical issues in putting the call through, or something weird and annoying like that. So, I don't really know what your problem is with your own support line, but based on my numerous attempts yesterday, it doesn't work.

Adobe, you're really aggravating me. I'm already greatly annoyed with how you're handling this forced switch-over to Creative Cloud. Why don't you decide what you want to throw my way in terms of resolution, call me on the number that I told you to call on (the one the starts with 9098...) WITH A RESOLUTION ALREADY IN HAND THAT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE "ESCALATED" if you need to, and resolve this.

Perhaps someone who actually has some decision making authority can resolve this because the clueless off-shore tech support you've farmed all your first response to is simply making matters worst and is not making me happy, not resolving the issues, and can't even figure out which phone number to call me at.

And on and on it goes. I need to speak to someone to understand if the 60 days credit is a refund, a continuation, and to get answers to the other questions I asked on July 20th.

It used to be there was someone at Adobe Corporate who had decision-making authority, who could easily get things resolved right then and there and answer any other questions but now it's just a nightmare.

We have recently updated to CS6. When I created layers on a photo in CS6 then went to open it on another computer that still had CS5 the layers would not open. Are the versions compatible in this way or do all the computers we use need to be updated to CS6?

Premiere Pro CS6 offline help and adobe help manager

To my experience there is no "Help file" available in Premiere Pro CS6 / Encore CS6 and Bridge CS6, if you are not connected with the internet.

The only programm where there is a "help function" off line available, in the pulldown menu of the programm, that works is Audition CS6.

I noticed that there are Help PDFon the Adobe webside available, so why are they not intergrated into the programm?

The way it works now, means that you only can use the helpfunction within the programm if you are conected to Internet.

For obvious reasons I do not like to be constanly connected to the internet with my Video Edting PC.

Can sombody tell me if the help function realy does not work off line in PP /EN and Br CS6? I cannot believe that, however if I click "help" in a off line position, there is no respond from the programm. If I do the same conneted to the Internet, it automatically goes to the Help page of the programm i am working in at that moment. So Adobe forces you to be constanly on the Internet, or first start the internet, if you need the Help content of the programm!!(??)

A second question related to the Help function:

My adobe helpmanager only lists Adobe media encoder / reader / bridge and extention manager. No Premiere pro and no Encore.

How can you add those in the help manager. I read something about "it automaticly adds as soons as you used help in the programm or download the PDF helpfile for the first time".

Well, I did both but PP and En reference (help) are still not listed in the Adobe Help Manager!

I also re-installed the Help Manger: no result!

I hope sombody knows the answers.

Help Manager never successfully integrates content

I have Creative Cloud on Mac 10.8 (Mountain Lion). No matter what I do, every time I try to add more offline content or update existing content, I see the dialog that reads, "Please wait while the downloaded files are extracted. Extracting large files may take several minutes," and there it sits.

I can see from the Activity Monitor that Adobe Help Manager is still alive and supposedly doing something, but I can leave it be for hours at a time, and the dialog never goes away. I can terminate that dialog, or force quit, or reboot, or whatever else, and it doesn't appear to work. I also see a couple of items in the help list that show "Pending Integration" seemingly endlessly.

Any idea what gives?

I also see items in the list that are duplicated, and things in the list with no date, status or size—how do I clean them up?

Honestly, the way the Help Manager functions leaves a lot to be desired in general. You can access the PDF content from there, but nothing else?

LR4 local content "Not Available" in Adobe Help Manager

I followed the instructions suggested by Sandeep here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4757465, and while this caused LR4 to show up in the Adobe Help Manager, the local content's status for LR4 is given as "Not Available". What do I need to do to get AHM to download the content for offline help, and to have direct access to it from Lightroom 4?

To me, the functionality of Adobe's offline help solution is completely unacceptable. I have read the forums and these problems have been going on for months. Built-in help in not a new concept for software applications but Adobe has managed to take something simple and to make it complicated and unusable. Fixing this really ought to be a higher priority for the company, particularly given the high prices that Adobe charges for its products.

Thanks in advance for any ideas to fix this problem and for letting me vent.

When I start Adobe community help I get the error "to access or download help, connect to the Internet or deselect "Display Local Help Content only" in Preferences"

But I'm online and "diplay local help only" is deselected.

Any ideas?

Lightroom 3 upgrade to LR4 not registered in Community Help

I recently upgraded my copy of Adobe Lightroom from v3.6 to v4.2. After verifying the new install was working properly and converting the catalog I uninstalled v3.6. When I go to help in the Lightroom menu the Community Help application starts in its own window and displays help for version 4 in its right hand conent window as it should. However the left hand search pane displays "Search Bridge Content" - not "Search Lightroom Content" - in its search term entry box. The content choice pull-down menu next to the search term entry list Adobe Bridge CS5, Photoshop CS5, and Lightroom 3 (no longer installed), but NOT Lightroom 4 (currently installed). Similarly the Community Help home page lists Photoshop CS5, Bridge CS5, and Lightroom 3, but not Lightroom 4. How do I remove the old reference to Lightroom 3 references from both the "search help content" selection menu and the Community Help home page and replace it with Lightroom 4 as currently installed?

In a second issue, attempting to sign-in to my Adobe ID account through the Community Help Account menu fails even though the ID and password supplied are correct. After entereing my password and pressing "Sign In" the dialog box gets stuck on the screen with nothing happening, requiring me to close help and restart it to move on.

CS5.5 won't open Adobe Help, only browser

Hi all,

I am having some problems with the Adobe Community Help application.

I am running CS5.5 under Windows 7 64-bit on a Samsung NP700G7C laptop.

I noticed today that clicking links in the Adobe Help application did nothing at all, unless they were right-clicked and opened in a new tab of the application.

As this behaviour was frustrating, I followed the steps on this page:

Upon first run, the reinstalled Adobe Help application offered to download local content, which I allowed.

Several odd things then happened:

Even after downloading the available content, and without any CS5.5 applications open, Adobe Help wouldn't close - it minimised to the system tray. This wasn't how it used to behave.
Clicking help from any CS5.5 application opens its help page in my web browser, not Adobe Help.
There is no option in Adobe Help to use it rather than the browser (contrary to what's described in the final issue on this page: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/known-issues-community-help.html)

So now that Adobe Help is reinstalled and updated, how do I get the CS5.5 applications to "see" and use it again?

Hi, I am deploying Design and Web Premium CS6 in a locked-down environment. I noticed that the Adobe Help Manager puts its offline help files in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Adobe. The end users in the company I work for don't have access to that folder so they can't use Help. So I would like to ask how to change the location of those files?

My Adobe ID and Adobe.com Profile Information, as well as the list of Adobe products I have registered, are not working. I have been registered at Adobe.com since 2004, and can login without a problem -- aside from Adobe asking, every third or fourth login, if I will agree to changing my Adobe ID from my name to my email address -- but beyond logging in, I can do little else.

As far as I can tell, there is no such thing as Adobe Support for one's Adobe ID, Profile Information, and site problems. With the price of their software and services, one would think Adobe would want to make sure its registered customers could access and utilize its site, but that certainly does not seem to be the case.

If anyone else here has had or heard of problems similar to what I have had, I would really appreciate knowing how to get this mess straightened out. As it is, none of my Adobe product registration is associated to my account, and while I can use the products just fine, I would like to be able to utilize the benefits of a stable and workable Adobe.com account.

I am New to Adobe products, CS6Master and starting a new business venture which requires me to sit at the computer even more than usual...and need some knowledge transfer over here!

I am a programmer type usually, and would like to use the mouse to automate keystrokes and such.

If you are using a programmable mouse for AI, PS and Premier Pro and know how to make it work for you...I am interested in hearing more.

We (I'm sure others will follow) were send here to express our concert about the current helpx-concept.

I'm a ACI for After Effects and Premiere, and will be for SpeedGrade as soon as such is availeble. My concers regard these applications:

- I miss a TOC (table of content).

- Top features are not even mentioned on the main page.

- Seaching results in a swarm of unrelated hits, or at best is a stroll along relevant information

- Some features are soley 'documented' in a video/tutorial, making them less complete and hard to surface when searching

- not index

In general: Helpx info would be a great if it was an addition to proper CS6 documentation. But it seems that Helpx is there 'instead' of proper documentation. This is worrying.

If I, as a 15+ year user of AE and Pr have dificulties finding documentation, then how will novice users find it?

New Downloads Cycling, Not Installing

I'm having problems with the Adobe Help AIR application. When there is new content, it goes through the motions of downloading it, then it shows the content which was downloading as not installed. When I quit application and reopen, it shows the same download available as it did before, not yet downloaded. Here illustrations to show the sequence:

(1) Content is available:

I click Download, and the process begins.

(2) Downloading:

(3) Download continues:

(4) The content is presumably "integrating". I see a spinning circle of activity (but not shown in the screen capture).

(5) Failure.

(6) I click Done. I quit out of the Adobe Help Manager. When I reopen it, I'm back at step #1

Suggestions?

First, why has the help system for CS6 been re-written? The existing system was far better than the junk we have been given now.

Secondly, the new system only gives the options of downloading stupid pdf files for offline docs. Why isn't the html docs available?

No added value: removed Community Help Application

Today, I concluded that the Community Help Application has absolutely no added value and I removed it.

Community Help wasn't able to update and consolidate the pdf files, and yes I followed Adobe's instructions in http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/help-application-doesnt-update.html

When I click help from any CS6 application, a help page on the internet is opened anyway, with or without Community help. The pdf "Help and tutorials" seem to have become a pdf bundle of the Adobe help webpages. It's probably cheaper to produce and it shows.

As I wrote before, the direction Abobe has taken with the CS6 product help documentation is worrisome:

Since when does a product ship before a manual has been completed? Apparently that's since CS6.
What we have since CS6 are a form of release notes where differences between versions explain what has changed.
This documentation cannot replace a proper manual where all functionality is comprehensively described and explained as to be accessible to both new and existing users. This means that the manual should refer to CS6 functionality and not a collage of different version manual pages.
Also a manual should be complete. The CS6 manual in some cases is still missing (in-depth) topics; even on some new CS6 features.
I have the impression that in some cases, tutorials will replace written manual texts. Sometimes, I do not want to sit through a video tutorial but use the manual to quickly search and read the information. That is what manuals are for.

This is a sad conclusion as I used to be very content with Adobe's help files in pdf format.

Installing CS6 Master Collection Kills the Help Manager

I installed CS6 Master Collection on two computers. Now local help is no longer available. The Help Manage does open, but all I have are the help config settings, via the About menu, and nothing else (No other windows,et al):

- General Settings

- Download Preferences

- Updater Settings

- Local Content

- About = Version 4.0.0.244

None of the above windows are interactively configurable.Settings are inactive

Not haveing app help is either local or online is a huge loss. What should I do?

Hello,

I have a few questions.

I've downloaded the CS6 PDF help guides but how do I make them show up in Local Mode when I hit the Help button in ANY Adobe CS6 program?

If I try to install them through the Help Program (the one that used to work with CS5), it states there are updates available becuase the CS6 progs are 'out of date'. When I hit updatate, they download but then revert back to saying they are 'Out of date'!

So, how do I make the CS6 PDF help guides available in Local Mode when I am not connected to the internet?

As I say, I have downloaded the PDFs from the provided link and these can be viewed as standalone. But not when calling them up via the related CS6 program.

We know the engineers and developers are not among that group of morons. I'm referencing the Adobe corporate, bureaucratic zombies.

Help files Premiere Pro CS6

I do not like CS6 being mixed with CS5 and 5.5.

It makes the Help cluttered:

E.g in CS5 you do this

in CS5.5 you do that and finally in CS6 it changes again.

There are references to CS5, CS5 and later, CS5.5, CS5.5 and earlier, CS5.5 and later and finally CS6. Might missed one or made one up. But i think its clear what I mean.

There is an archive for older versions.

Also there are several very out of date screendumps, some of them even originate back to CS2.

MAKE THE HELP FILES JUST FOR CS6.

I had registered my Adobe Photoshop CS 5.5 to my old computer, but unfortunately my hardware was crashed. So i can't deactivate phostohop in my old computer.

How i can register Adobe Phostohop CS 5.5 on my new computer ??

Offline pdf downloads stuck...

Hi guys, I hope this is the right place to ask about this.

I've been trying to grab some of the CS6 offline help files that are now appearing, but for each one things seem to get stuck 'Pending Intergration'. When I initially try and download them, they get stuck apparently extracting the finished downloads. Obviously this isn't the case, as they're typically less than 10 megs.

Any ideas? The Help program really is poorly coded (on my Mac I often need for force quit it, because it refuses to quite otherwise) but despite this, I assume downloads should work

Problem with bold text when converting to PDF

I use Photoshop Cs5 and when I convert the file to PDF some words in the text and sometimes a whole centence become bold/fat without having it as bold/fat. What can the problem be?

I would like to know, what strategic focus that Adobe had to take in order to be able to compete with other technologies.

I'm currently studying ICT and for one of our assignments I had this question as I am very new to programming the only thing comes to mind is by updating their current products and improving them, but alas that would not be enough, can someone answer my qestion?
