Menu dropdown but working on specific pages?

HI,

I have a little issue that I can not find a solution to?

On my trial site; Home Page with Full Page Slider

There is one down menu for services. This menu works fine apart from on the about, services and news pages?

Can anyone suggest why this is not working? I think I have been looking at it for too long?

Currently tag_blogtitle} is in the Overall blog layout and appears on all blog posts, I only want this heading displayed on overall blog layout not on individual posts.

How do I add <meta property="go:image" to my individual blog entries?

The way I had it configured was working until yesterday - when the new BC update was released - and I am now getting this message from the FB Debugger

Meta Tags In Body Your page has meta tags in the body instead of the head. This may be because your HTML was malformed and they fell lower in the parse tree.
Please fix this in order for the tags to be usable.

I've got a site that must keep the same domain but has two separate types of visitors (think customers and vendors) is creating a sub-domain and paying for a separate IP address the only way to completely segregate the search results (without going to private login features)?

I really need to segregate the web content as both customers and vendors have similar questions but the content on their pages aren't helpful to each other. Currently my search results are heavy on Vendor content even when a it is a customer search topic.

Use booking form and another form on the same page

I Have two forms on my events page. One is to book the event and one is to sign up for the newsletter. When a user tries to sign up for the newsletter, the event is booked for that person. how do I separate these? They are separate forms, but the submit button of one fires the booking form.

Any ideas?

I have a large form with 159 inputs.

1) Can we modify webformresults as yet?

The output is very unprofessional.

2) Can we format the email sent for webformresults?

There is no formatting differentiation between the question and the answer at all. Even a different colour for the answer would be something!

I am wrestling a few days now, and still not able to get a blogpost image into the facebook share-box.

Below ( under the blog-post ) you'll find my facebook like button.

When i like the blog-post, the share-box pops up BUT without the blog image.

I put the link in the debugger window from Facebook, but it tells me that the open graph tag for a image is not proper defined.

So we're using the event module more as an advanced calender. But we have a lot of events already on a set date so the event list is too big.

I've edited to the Blog post details layout with this tag {tag_blogpostbodypreview} which truncates to show up the 1st paragraph, I'd like to be able to specify and show the first 2 paragraphs, is this possible?

I'm quite new with business catalyst, but I've recently become a paid account (Webcommerce) and I have 2 options below the menu tab "Site Manager".

I'm watching a lot of tutorials and all of them got a lot op options below the site manager, and I only got Web Forms and System emails, so I think that there are missing a lot of options missing!

Hi All,

I need to disable the booking auto responder and ajax submit another webform behind the scenes and use that web form's auto responder for all the bookings so that the content of the email remains consistent.

I planned to create a web form with just an email address on it but I wondered if it was possible to not have that email address entered into the CRM once it's submitted, ie. the form is only being used as a trigger and I only need the autoresponder so I just need to know how to prevent any email address from being submitted to the database.

Appreciate any help.

Just exactly what it sounds like, and probably a n00b question –– but any help appreciated. Basically, it looks as though the Detail Layout for an event clicked on through calendar display automatically pulls the default template; I'd like to use a different one there.

How would you redirect from secure domain following CLEAR CART option

I am aware of the javascript we can place into the receipt page to redirect from the secure domain back to your standard domain after completing an order that was in the old knowledgebase (if anyone can point ut where this resource is in the newhelp documentation please share...!) but what I am wanting is to achieve same result after a user clears the cart.

The problem occurs if the customer purchases goods and goes through the checkout process to land on the Buy Registration page (which is now on the secure domain) and they then decide to cancel their order by returning to the checkout using the View Cart link in the shopping cart summary, they will do so from a secure domain. BC then displays a message saying "Shopping cart is empty. Go Back" however this is also on a secure domain. I can't find what controls this display by way of any system page into which I could insert the javascript.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to overcome this issue I have.

Displaying "Category Name" in Module Listings ???

I still don't know why this hasn't been done yet. I requested for this functionality number of times and it's been like 3 years but it seems that all my effort have been ignored.

Well you can manually type category names and list items like this

Category1

{ module_some from category1 please }

Category2

{ module_some from category2 please }

However what would you do if you need to display all items together in one form but still need to style them differently ?

You can do workaround in WebApps by adding additional field (Though double amount of work when managing each item and especially clients hate it) but with News or Events you cannot do it. Say you want to decorate different events in different categories on calendar view, how would you do it ? Well there are few workarounds I can think of but doing it for myself and asking clients do it are completely different story.

I don't know how BC system is comlicated to modify but to put it in a nutshell it's just a matter of adding another value to be rendered from the database, isn't it ?

Even that function is already on "Detail Layout" only, why can't we use it on list view ?!

I am converting an Indesign CC book to epub. It contains many glossary words that are hyper linked from the body copy to a list of glossary terms. All single words are linking fine, but in two instances there are combined words, such as "children's/adults" and "face out/spine out".

Each of these words "children's", "adult", "face out", "spine out" in the body copy link to the combined word "children's/adult", "face in/spine out" in the glossary.

Here is the code as is (which is not validating):

News module not picking up h3 for tag_subject but will pick up h4 for tag_eventfromdate, any suggestions?

Hi. On this page I've got two photo galleries. For some reason the Description in the Manage Items tool only works some of the time. Seems to be quite random as to when it will/won't work. Is there a reason for this?

Hi.

I have a set my client's site up with lots of editable regions so they can manage content. Although the InContext editor is great for letting my client link to internal pages, documents and external pages I couldn't find where they would select the external URL to open in a new browser tab. Obviously I can go back in and add the html to their links but is there a way they can set the target?

I'm using the following BC module tag to insert the latest blog post into an html element and have limited the output to 1:

This only allows for the latest post but I want to specify exactly which blog post I want to insert, ie. by its blog post id.

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to do this either with the above module tag or with another one?

Hello. Can I make the News Announcement module work for both the desktop and phone version of a site? I want to use one set of News Announcements so have created a separate template for the desktop detail and the phone detail.

On the mobile News page, seen here, news - Latest News (make sure you reduce the browser to a phone size) I have altered the module code generating the announcement list from {module_announcement,a,,,,} to the following so that it uses a mobile specific template (as suggested on the BC help page here Business Catalyst Help | Using custom templates for modules). The template is in the Templates folder.

{module_announcement,a template="/Templates/MOBILE-INNER-News-pages.tpl"}

But it isn't working yet, on selecting a news item link on the mobile version the detail loads but it is the desktop version not the mobile version. Is my code snippet wrong? The news items themselves have been assigned the desktop version template which I imagine could be the problem. Is there a way around this or do I have to create two sets of news announcements, one for desktop the other for phones?

Hi. Is it possible to adjust the photo gallery module's code in a way that makes the image that gets displayed on selecting the thumbnail image display no larger than the browser? I have a client that's uploaded image that are pretty large and would prefer not to have to save them as smaller images if possible.

Hi All. I created a bc main template from Muse and published to BC so I could create a blog from BC. However when I linked the blog back in Muse to the BC extension and published, the active state (green colour) would not show on the Blog navigation (menu) link. Any Ideas?

Why is the Design View appearing distorted?

I have been designing an event page template in HTML and CSS to be used by my co-worker who handles all of our events and doesn't know how to write in HTML.

When I enter the HTML into the Event Content (HTML) entry box, everything works fine. The page looks like it should when I preview it, but when I change to Design View the page becomes distorted and skewed. This makes it nearly impossible to make any changes that aren't made in HTML View because the cursor jumps all over the page when I attempt to enter information in Design View. If it were just me this would not be a problem because I could change the event info on the HTML side, but because my co-worker has never used HTML I would like to get the Design View to show the page properly.

Is there anyway to correct the appearance of the Design View, so it displays the page correctly? Thanks for your help!!!

Hi All.

Is there any way to reverse the output of my blog? I would like the oldest articles to display first and then delete them as and when they happen. I know I can go back in an manually weight them all but if there was a way to set this up automatically it would be fantastic and it would make a really easy to use system for my client.

I have set the blogs up so the client can load new events. It would nice if the newer events were loaded to the end of the blog output and older events were to rise to the top. Then when the event has happened we can delete it revealing the next event.

I hope this makes sense? I know it's backwards but it would be amazing if I could get it to work!

Event module time

Hello,

Is there any way to get a field and specify a time (not ONLY a date) for a event, using the event module?

If the customer use the description I can do it with javascript, not a perfect solution. Open Admin and a custom App might also solve this one, but a lot of work for just the time. It's quite strange that BC didn't thought about that a event usally have a time.

Product search results order - descending price

Hi,

I know it is possible to display the results of a product search by price, using: {module_productresults,,,,price,,}

This dispalys results in ascending order (lowest price first) but we would like the results the reveresed. I've spoken to BC and the only way to show the order as descending (highest price first), is with JavaScript.

Has anyone implemented this before or know how to?
