Save a email template to client site

I have the following code in an email newsletter template:

I've placed ice:editable="line" within the td element. This works well but I also need the link for the text within the td to be editable also so I tried the following:

I added ice:editable="link" within the a href but when I tested, this caused the line editable code to not work and neither did the link editable part work.

I thought maybe it was because I was nesting an editable region within another one. Could that be why it's not working? If yes, is there a workaround for this?

how do i make sure that the reference address is correct for images. emails continually show as red cross. HTML code appears to show "local" address rather than absolute.

continually getting red "X" instead of images in email campaigns.

Have tried a campaign using a number of the standard BC templates with the same results. Only thing I can pick up at moment is that in the HTML code the image address is local and not absolute. So when I "preview" it appears fine but sending a "test email" never includes the images.

Seems to be a common issue but cant see many posted answers.

I have a mailing list of 712 subscribers but when attach these emails to my email campaign under recipients it will only display 473 emails. Can someone please tell me why this is and how I can rectify this? Thanks

trouble with BC subscription box html when used in muse

Hey everyone. I have a very simple site in muse that i wanted to start building a list of subscribers from. I went to mailing list--actions-->"get subscribe box html code", then copied the code and pasted into muse. The box shows up but a lot of the other content is missing, disorganized, etc. Muse told me it was an html code issue with the box to delete it and see if my site looked right, it did. But i really need that box, otherwise I won't be building a client list. Any help would be great!

Show logged in subscriber the mailing lists they are signed up

We have a profile page that allows a subscriber to secure zone to update their username, password etc.

My client wants to also show which email mailing lists the user is signed up. We have 5 mailing list. They would also like the user to be able to unsubscribe on this page.

I know that a person can unsubscribe in the email or we can manually do it the admin if they email our support team, but we want to make it easy.

Is this possible?

I have a WordPress (WooCommerce) e-commerce site, so I send transactional emails from my server (like user signup notifications, order receipts, etc.), so it's crucial that my emails arrive in my customer's inboxes.

Lately I've been pretty much obsessed with improving my email deliverability.

I've setup feedback loops (using this list: List of current Feedback Loops offered at ISPs) with most of the popular email providers, and I’m automatically handling the spam reports (unsubscribing the complainants).

I also used Winning Email - Email Deliverability Service, which was helpful for analyzing things in my email header, DNS records, or server config, and telling me how to fix the problems.

What other suggestions do you guys have for improving your email delivery rates?

Email personalization does not work with no first name

In Business Catalyst, if you insert the tag { tag_recipientfirstname}, the tooltip on this feature advises that "First name of the recipient (replaces with 'Friend' if first name is empty)".

This is false advertising.

It does not replace with 'Friend', it just leaves it blank.

Obviously, this is a major problem when trying to send out personalized emails, and doesn't help us make the case for a client to use Business Catalyst instead of MailChimp, iContact, or any of dozens of other email tools that reliably provide this simple, simple feature.

When can we expect this simple, basic feature to function as advertised?

HTML Newsletter and Email Program Display Issues

I have been having some problems with my clients newsletters not displaying correctly in some versions of Outlook (specifically Office 2013 in Window 8).

The email is all distorted, text and images not properly sized, text issues ect.

I understand that different email clients handle html emails differently but I was wondering if anyone out there had any insight into how to resolve this or workaround it (other then using the link to view as a webpage, that works too of course) concidering a lot of people use this email client.

Partner / Admin incorrectly shown as opening campaign email

A client recently sent out an email campaign. When I checked the feed this morning, it showed me (both partner and highest level admin) as having opened and even clicked on campaign links, despite not even being on my computer at those times. This has happened with other clients and campaigns too, where I seem to be ghost-opening and clicking. Anyone else ever run into this? Any suggestions for solving other than removing me completely from the email list?

Bulk delete of customer details after soft bounce

Another item that has been requested time and time again over the years.

Anyone have a solution of how to delete Leads after a soft bounce, which never came through as a hard bounce. (I won't call them customers as there is no other information on them or purchases - just an email address, so there is no issue)

Nothing is easy in this system! Getting jack of it, and so are clients.

You can pull up the problem soft bounces, and fantastic, you can open in a new tab, instead of the STUPID pop up box.

But that is where the ease stops. I can not view the customer in a "New Tab" and then delete them.

I can only click on the link and view the customer, which means my list of all the soft bounces disapears.

After deletion, I have to go through the whole rigmarole again, of

going to the email campaign

Going to bounces

changing the sort criteria

waiing for the list

viewing the customer

deleting them

and starting again

There are over 200 bounces

Seriously !!

Again I point out this was on the wish list for years!!

I have a client I have had an email template for the past 5 months. They have been sending weekly emails using this template and the new editing. They went to send today and the template is broken, it says there is no ICE editable areas which there is, this template has been used for 5 months not a problem no it is. Has Adobe changed anything????

Campaigns painfully slow loading

Hi There,

Just wondering if anyone else experiences incredibly slow loading of the email campaign content when creating one.

I sometimes have to wait 5-10mins just for the Content to load so i can continue editing/testing the campaign.

Most of the other sections in BC seem to load fine, it's just the campaigns takes ages.

Even when i save a draft it loads for about 5-10mins.

Hoping someone knows any fixes I can do to sort this out.

A future enhancement for the email campaingns is the option to send now, not have to go through the BS time scheduler to pick a time today and it dosent get sent.

If I or a client want to send an campaign now why not have that option. Come on Adobe...

I have a client with an introductory email series, 6 emails, spaced out over 10 days. We'd like to find a creative way to get notified (ideally by email) when a customer has opened email #6. I know we can see it in the dashboard and reporting tools, but they don't want to have to check manually, becasue the notification would go to their call center.

We are running two different campaigns and they are for seperate parts of the business, so when someone subscribes we want them to click through to a relevant page when they get their email confrimation link. Is it possible to create an Email Marketing Campaign with two puposes?

1. Create and send an Email Maketing Campaign

2. Createt a webpage with the same content and have it auto linked on a page within the website associated with the Email Mrkg Campaign like so:

1. Paste desired Title and Body Text into an Email Marketing Campaign template, which sends to your email list. New one each month.

2. The same Email Marketing Title and Body Text are input into a pre-existing webpage template

3. There is permanent web-page on the associated website called "Newsletters"

4. After the Campaign emails, it's Title and Date concatenate and auto-polulate onto the Newsletter page and is linked to the new webpage in #2

The Newsletter page would look something like this. With 2013 open, you see the pages that were created from the Email Marketing Campaign Title and Body Text. The issue is whether BC can be made to do both an Email Mkg Campaign and auto-popluate a Website with links to each new webpage:

Email Hyperlink Re-directing

In my email blast I have several hyperlinks pointing to my website. I have sent some test and also sent a final email blast to see if this problem would go away and it hasn't. Whats going on is when cliking on the link in my outlook and my phone it opens a new widnow with a pop-up saying "Redirection." Does anyone know why?

Here is my email code.

Visual editor not working

But the test mail did never arrive in my Mail account.

email campaigns hang on send. any ideas?

I have around 60k subscribers and I send out email campaigns weekly.

My problem is the time it takes at the 'send campaign' screen.

It hangs up when doing more than a couple of thousand subscribers.

My lists are broken down to target audiences so I am having to send to only 2 lists at a time.

This gives me dozens of duplicate entries in the campaign screen and makes it difficulkt to follow.

It also turns a 2 min job into a half hour battle.

Here is where it sticks and either continues or as in most cases, hangs and never finishes.

I have in the past sent to all the list in one go and only waited a few seconds at this screen.

Any help would be appreciated.

Please tell me what the function of the above referenced number is in the newsletter signup form.

Does it matter what the number is as long as it is the same everywhere it appears in the form? I can see two places it appears in the form (name and onsubmit). It also appears in the function script.

I have four different pages with a newsletter signup form on them and was just wondering if they could all be exactly the same?

This system seems to be extremely unreliable and completly unmangagable.

Since the introduction of new Bounce System in 2013 it has become a major issue for us to manage the email marketing for our customers.

We have customers who are being incorrectly flagged as hard bounces. When checking the activity of the customer it clearly shows that the email is active and correct.
after 1 hard bounce the customer is opted out. This would be okay if the hard bounces were accurate. surely a 3 strike system would be more effective such as used by systems like Vision 6
Reports of hard bounces and unsubscribers only last 30 days?
There is no way do a report of all unsubscribers. The only way currently is using the opt our field however this includes hard bounced customers. It is important to distinguish the difference between the customers who unsubscribed and those who hard bounced.

Screwed up email 'FROM' addressing COMPLAINT

Yes this is a complaint. Seriously what is going on with the FROM email addressing and how did anyone in BC ever think that deliberately changing and screwing with a clients FROM details improves things for clients.

This is now what happens to one of my clients because he does not host his DNS with BC. His 'from' addressing is changed. All his clients now get this for campaigns and notifications. I have substituted his name for 'ClientName' and website name for BusinessName (as I do not think his personal details are relevant.

Yes it really do string along that much. This is supposedly an enhancement. It does nothing but make the client look dodgy because the trusted address his end clients have seen for the last 20 years now looks spammy.

This was where the original notification of what was happening was to occur:

Below is the extract about it:

Email deliverability enhancements  We've introduced two new changes with the goal of improving our email deliverability rates.

• Campaigns and operational emails (ie. workflow notifications) will now be signed with DKIM, acting as a digital signature and improving overall email deliverability.

• These emails will now also include a "sent via worldsecuresystems.com" header if the FROM email address is not a domain that has it’s DNS hosted with Business Catalyst.

Just incase you are a BC Partner like myself and have not actually seen this problem for yourself. After an hour of testing to figure out why the client sees it and I do not Live Chat tells me anyone with an email address hosted within BC actually does not see this stupid amendment to the FROM address. Here was Live Chats response:

"If the email is sent to "ClientName@BusinessName.com.au" which is hosted on BC, it does not include the worldseruresystem in the header, and if I sent it to myself it includes the header, as my email is not hosted on BC. So it also depens on the receipient's email address."

Trully idiots are being employed within BC. How can we as BC Partners ever trust any testing we do in this system when we cannot even display what the end client is seeing?! Does BC really think that this helps a business have credibility online? Anything that has a dumb domain name like 'worldsecuresystems.com' and thinks this makes people feel more secure about the legitimacy of an email is a fool. I know what the relevenace 'worldsecuresystems' has within BC but 1 million+ other people do not. It is like typing into the subject line "This Is Not SPAM". Irrespective of the digital signature this change supposedly makes in improved email deliverability is countered by the shear stupidity of how it appears.

I clearly have a problem with this, my client has a problem with it too. I am sure we are not the only ones.

Workflow email being falsely flagged as spam

Since last Tuesdays email outage on Adobe Business Catalyst hosted mail accounts ( mail blocked for hours on Tusday night) numerous workflow emails have now become flasely flagged as Spam and is ongoing.

Fool in support says "they will only update the status when they know what the problem actually is", yet they know there is a problem effecting adobe customers in general.

They even say there is no notification because "the email is actually being delivered" yeh and how many partner customers have clients using webmail on a regular basis. FFS we have returned to the old BC attitude. Pitty help us Partners when they really get into the move to AWS, based on this attitude they have during the stage 1 of migration.

Love other status issue posts of recent times. Next post when it is fixed,

I would like to know how to extend the capability of Multivariate testing to the custom components say Carousel.

I went through the documnetation at: http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/5-5/wcm/multivariate_testing.html and found that the OOTB Multivariate testing component exposes one or more image banners and maintains report on:

> Number of Views/visits by users

> Number of clicks - Click Through Rate.

I would like to understand whether this is applicable only for banners or can be extended to other components without having to do much of code change? Kindly advice.

Follow-up email triggered on email campaign click

I am wondering if it is possible for a follow-up email campaign to be triggered once someone has clicked a link in the previous email.

For example, I want to send out an email to subscribers of an email campaign, with a link to an informative webinar. I then would like only those that have opened the email, and preferably clicked the link, to be sent a follow-up email (a day or 2 later) with extra contextual information that assumes they have watched the video.

My needs are not limited to this example, but hopefully you get the idea.

How might I go about doing this?

Is there a way to automatically opt in subscribers for those who have signed up and may not have received the automatic email to confirm subscription.

So any subscribers are opted in and will receive emails as notice alot of people sign up but they dont confirm so I manually have to check the list by optin status and find 3 pages with status set to no so I have to go into each contact and click force opt in button which is really time consuming.

Wondered if there was way to prevent charatcers being automatically added by the system when adding a Newsletter Template.

Example:

goes to this when saved…

I have tested it with a in there but I get varying results.
