brackets html quickdocs not working

Hi. sorry I am not sure where to ask ... if you could point me to a better place ... thanks.

I installed the 1.0 of brackets and there is a quickdoc feature (CMD+K on a mac) for HTML as a build in extension - unfortunatly, I get the error message, "No Quick Docs available..." ... what can I do?

Hello, I can't embed the code for the Adobe Edge Web Fonts in Adobe Edge Code.

There should show up a icon to click where I can embed the code, but it doesn't show up or exist.

I also searched for this problem in the forum already and followed the instructions with the "string.js" (delete "de":true)

and opened my TypeKit-Account while starting Edge Code, but nothing works.

The icon for the code is still missing. Any help for this problem?

I've been trying to use Adobe Edge Code and the "CC Extension Builder" from David Daeraedt (http://davidderaedt.github.io/CC-Extension-Builder-for-Brackets/) to build an HTML5 panel for Photoshop CC 2014. Not sure what I'm doing, but I can't get started. My screens look very different from the ones I see demo'd on David's page (he's in Brackets), and nothing appears to occur when I run the extension (CC Extension Builder / New Creative Cloud Extension / Create Extension). Anyone else using this tool and having better luck than me? Looks promising, but I must be making some rookie mistake getting started.

Hi All,

I understand that this is trial software, but I am having trouble with this application. Couple of things:

1) I have a folder open in Adobe Edge Code. Whenever I am insert a new file, Edge Code does not automatically refresh. I have to close out and open back up just to see the new file. Anyway around this?

2) Sometimes I have to do a lot of copy and pasting especially when it comes to content. The auto complete option gets annoying. For example, say I am typing a list. Whenever I open an <li> bracket it automatically attaches the ending </li> bracket. I have to delete that one and retype it at the end of the pasted sentence. Is there a way to turn this auto completion feature off? I do have the Auto Close Brackets off, but that isn't doing anything.

quick edit only adds new rules to main.css and not the working stylesheet

I am trying to figure out how to add new rules to my working stylesheet. When I right click on an element and select quick edit, it gives me the option to add a new rule, but it is for the Edge Code/main.css stylesheet only. How do i select which stylesheet I want to style?

Hello, I've been wondering if I should download Edge Code as a code editor for a while now, and I was wondering if the program is also capable of editing with the Jave language, NOT just JavaScript? I know any text editor can be used to create a Java program - what I'm wondering is if it will support the same same shortcuts and keystrokes as it will for the other languages it already supports. Is there a way to make a quick <!--- comment (cfml) rather than a <!-- comment (html) by using shortcuts like ctrl+shift+/ ?

I am used to adding comments around blocks and lines using keyboard shortcuts or clicking a button on dreamweaver. Any way to manage these shortcuts?

return key adds code and then goes to next line

Does anyone know why the return key seems to be almost double tapping? When I start to enter a line of code and the program picks up on it I use the return key to select it but since yesterday afternoon it seems to select the code as it should but then it drops down to the second line before I can add more data or even a semi-colon. This is happening on two different computers. My Macbook pro and my iMac. My preferences are greyed out so I cannot go into that. Anyone else notice this or know how to fix it? Thanks.

Adobe Edge Code CC Keeps Freezing

So I have never have had this problem before. During my coding, the program suddenly freezes. the navigation still will show its hover effects, but beyond that, everything is frozen, and I have to force close the application to get out of it. I haven't installed any new plugins, im not running any SASS compilers in the background. I cant click into the code, i cant even save, everything locks down and is unusable.

The only thing I can think of is that in the coded page that it keeps freezing on, I have a lot of SVG code, that isn't a possibility is it? Anyways, I would love any suggestions about how to work around this. I've been spoiled and I don't want to have to go back to Sublime.

P.S No other application that is running in the background freezes (i.e iTunes / Google chrome / Photoshop). I see no CPU / Memory spikes in my task manager.

I find code edge sometimes crashes like shown in the image when minimized, this happens on both my net-book and laptop, its still usable so its not a big deal too me but seems to be a bug with code edge. didn't know where to post bugs.

Cannot Get Local Host to Work with Edge Code.

I have OSX server with local host http://mycomputer.local, but when I set this as the base URL edge code will not resolve the html code in Chrome. Any ideas, do I have to point to the folder that contains the code? How do I get edge code to point to the folder containing the code?

Why can't I access Preferences in Edge Code? I would rather want the HTML and CSS sheets black or very dark grey and then the different HTML and CSS codes in colors rather than this plain black and white input. I cannot even view HTML and CSS side by side in the same window. I have to physically move my hand to switch views. Why isn't that an option that I can access?

Recently switched from Coda to Edge Code for daily work. Love the extensions and am happy with the way I've configured my editor ;-)

However, i do find the search feature annoying b/c it empties my search terms as soon as I leave the input field and focus on another text item. I wish it would keep the terms until I expressly clear them.

I also wish I could find and replace across multiple documents within same project folder. This feature was a real time saver in Coda and I would like to have it in Edge Code. Are there any plans to add this in future builds? If not, is there an extension that does this?

ok so I could have swore I saw someone in an adobe youtube video take an illustrator or photoshop comp and put it into edge code, which in turn wrote the css for him.. it looked like he made what his site should look like in Ai or Ps and then edge code interpreted it into code.. I am a designer and I can write a little code jus not to the extent of what I want the site I;m working on to look like.. is this possible???? or am I losing my mind??

I need some help with Edge code. When using font-family's I can't use my own work folder since the default file it looks for the fonts in is the "Getting Started" file. Does anyone know how to change this? I would be extremely grateful, it's not a huge problem, but I would like to have my fonts in my own work folder then the adobe folder.

Problem launching Edge Code live-preview

Hi. When I try to launch live-preview in Edge Code, it tells me to enable remote-debugging in Chrome. Well, i've tried that, and I also tried to add it manually in Terminal with using the --remote-debugging-port=9222, but it still doesnt work.

I get this message:

Another question. Does live preview work on php files?

Been using Edge Code almost exclusively now in my html/css workflow. Still miss some of the functionality of BBEdit but overall Code has sped up some things like css editing.

Some things I have jotted down while working that I would like to see added:

1. make the Working Files field scalable. I like the scrolling but I also find myself wanting to grab the line dividing the panels and pull it down to reveal more or all of my working files.

2. add "Duplicate file" to the contextual menu in the files sidebar- right-click, duplicate file.

3. add "Open in Photoshop" or "Open file in…" in the contextual menu in the files sidebar. Often I want to edit an image file and instead of the extra step of "show in finder" I'd love if it I simply had the option to do it from within the app. It's only an extra click but I'm spoiled. ;^)

I have an Edge animation that worked fine in Chrome, Safari and IE.

The last time I published my Muse site (To BC) again (since update to CC2014) it no longer worked in Chrome!

Preview in browser (Chrome) from edge works, preview in browser (Chrome) from Muse works, publish and it doesn't work in Chrome (but does in Safari and IE).

Have been trawling for possibilities but I'm not that web techy! Any help would be appreciated

I recently downloaded Edge Code to a new work computer and the Live Preview Highlight is not working.

I have Edge Code installed on a personal computer, and it works great. The version I am using was downloaded about 6 months ago so I am not sure if they changed something with the most recent version. When I highlight a section within the html i.e. a table or row, it would highlight those same sections in the preview. However, this is not the case on my new computer.

Anybody know whats up? Is it setting on Chrome that I need to change or is there some update that I am not aware of.

Display file metadata in folder view

Just wondered if this is possible since Edge Code is fundamentally written in HTML/JS/CSS.

I like to add descriptive comments to my files in Windows Explorer, I would like to be able to see thos comments next to the file names in the folder / Working Files view in Edge Code.

I'm guessing it could be added to a node module somewhere, but not sure where (or what to add).

Any ideas would be great.

Anytime I start my Adobe Edge Code, It asks me If I want to take a survey? make Edge Code, my default CSS and JS editor? every single time I open Edge Code. Also Edge Code keeps on showing what Live Preview is anytime I open it making it frustrating. How do I disable it. Thanks in advance.

I have a Ruby on Rails application and I am under the impression that Edge Code will work with locally hosted web servers to use live preview. I have set up the project settings to use the locally hosted address: http://localhost:3000/ ... However when I use Live Preview I receive the following error.

"Open an HTML file or make sure there is an index.html file in your project in order to launch live preview."

I have done so and I meet the criteria but it doesn't seem to work. Does Adobe Edge Code support this feature?

quick edit is not working

After the latest update,
When I use cmd+e to access quick edit, changed the related CSS, and saved.
The css file didn't even changed and not being reflected in the live preview.

How can I enable code folding or collapse in Edge?

When using quick edit for compressed CSS, edge code does not jump to the particular class but displays the whole thing. This destroys the whole purpose. Does anyone know a fix or extension for that.

CC downloader stalling

Trying to upgrade to latest version of Edge Code (which will hopefully resolve the Chrome Live Preview issues). But it gets to 42% and stalls. Have tried 3 times with the same results. Stall at 42%. I really want to sue this app but may go back to my BBEdit.

Mac Keyboard Shortcuts

Edge Code seems pretty useless if it doesn't support standard Mac keyboard shortcuts and conventions. For instance, Command-e is supposed to load the selected text into the system-wide "find", so that any subsequent Command-g will "Find Again" that text in any Cocoa-based app that supports searchable text (such as Mail, BBEdit, Safari, iBooks (somewhat), Notes, etc. In Edge Code Preview, command-e does something else entirely.

Plus, drag and drop of text is not even supported. Come on, seriously?!?

Basically, this is like using a software program from before OS7, in the late 90s.

I am interested in learning to develop cross platform mobile apps using HTML5 and CSS.

Which Adobe product(s) (and other tools) are best for this?

I'm guessing that Apache Cordova and Adobe PhoneGap Build are places to start but I'm looking for input from others.

I'm also guessing the Adobe Edge products are appropriate "IDEs" for this kind of thing?

What does Cordova bring to the table that isn't available in native HTML5/CSS?

I apologize if this is not the correct forum for this question but upon reviewing the list of available forums this seemed like the best fit.

Live Preview is not working for me. I've read many other forums and tried everything and I still get the same issue that everyone else has mentioned. I'm on Chrome Version 34.0.1847.116 m . I have multiple user profiles with Chrome so not sure if that makes a difference.

Adobe Edge team, for a lightweight browser that should be easy to use, this does not make it easy. Hopefully you can implement a fix soon that works for all cases as I was really looking forward to trying this out and I'm unable to.

In a CSS (or HTML) doc, Is there a way to select-all and remove all indents or format a certain way? When i copy and paste code in, it's always all over and i have to go through hundreds of lines and remove or add indents so it's all uniform.
