Flash Professional CS6 : Frequently asked questions

Version 1

BUG: Unable to Import MP3 Files in Flash CS6

Solution: For Flash CS6 on Win7, update to QuickTime(7.7.1) and iTune(10.5.3.3) to import .mp3 files of which bitrate is larger than 192kbps.

    For other solutions, see http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1006009

Flash CS6, QuickTime: The export operation failed because it ran out of memory.

    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1015973

Solution: The Export Video feature in Flash Pro CC has most of these issues fixed and also does not result in any loss of frames. You can also export to HD videos using Flash Pro CC.

User suggested workaround solution for CS6

The Newgrounds swf converter "Swivel", which can be downloaded for FREE here: http://www.newgrounds.com/wiki/creator-resources/flash-resources/swivel

Instead of choosing QuickTime in Flash, choose to export as SWF Movie. Then use Swivel to convert that file to any of the supported video formats (mov, avi, mp4, etc). Unlike Flash, which exports .movs by basically "screen recording" the output you see on the stage, Swivel goes through and processes each frame, so this also eliminates any filter lag you might have as a bonus. I'm sure other SWF might work as well, but Swivel is exremely powerful, especially being completely free.

Can you download a trial version of Flash CS6 anymore, or only Flash CC?

Flash Pro CS6 to HTML5 Conversion

    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4892477

Solution: Toolkit for CreateJS does not support conversion of Action Script code to HTML5 equivalents (JavaScript), yet. There are a couple of workarounds you could use:Embed Javascript Code within Action Script comment blocks for components that have been designed using ActionScript in your FLA.

Or convert the entire FLA to HTML5, explicitly identify ActionScript components, and find their JavaScript equivalent codes from http://www.createjs.com/Docs/EaselJS/

User suggested workaround solution for CS6

    1. Go to: C:\Users\«YourUserName»\AppData\Local\Adobe\Flash CS6\en_US\Configuration
    2. Open the fontinfo.txt file in Notepad notepad and delete everything in it and save it.
    3. Restart Flash
    4. Change the properties of the fontinfo.txt file to read only so Flash can't overwrite it again.

keyboard shortcuts in flash cs6 not working correctly

Solution: This issue has been resolved in Flash CC.

User suggested workaround solution for CS6:

The simplest work around for this bug that I have come across is to use the scene panel.

    When the hotkeys stop working:

    1. Open the scene panel using Shift + f2, or clicking Window > Other Panels > Scene
    2. Click within the scene panel (click the scene you are currently on for simplicity). This will make a small blue border appear around the scenes.
    3. Click back on your stage

    1. Open the project ready to export in Flash CS6
    2. Go to file/publish preview make sure to export html
    3. Go back to your folder and you will have the swf file and the html file
    4. Right click the html file and open with dreamweaver
    5. once you have opened in dreamweaver, just look for this <param name="wmode" value="transparent" /> and make sure value is in transparent mode instead of opaque and tha's all.
