"Load More" widget
You know when you scroll down your Facebook or Twitter feed so far that you come to the bottom of the pre-loaded list of items and you see the "Load More" button, which, once clicked does exactly that - it loads MORE of the content on the page? Loads of other sites are using these kinds of buttons; YouTube have recently started using them too. They're great for neatly presenting content-rich pages and only displaying certain content when interested visitors engage with the site.
I think it would be great if Muse could have this feature.
Say you've got a REALLY long page explaining what your business is about, what it does, blah blah blah. Some visitors are gonna be really put off by that daunting amount of content to read at first sight of it aren't they? Wouldn't it be great if you could break them up into palettable chunks for the visitor's safe consumption? With a "Load More" button, you can!
You could split the page into sections such as a brief "About" section, then include a "Load More" button. That would be the initial view of the page, but when the user clicks the button, a second section (or the rest of the page if chosen in the button's menu in Muse) would load/appear - perhaps with a "close this section" link which would do exactly that. In this second section you could include a little more detail, maybe a few specifics and then maybe another "Load More" button. A third section could appear then, which includes a detailed breakdown of your pricing etc. All the while, the footer of your site would jump below all the loaded content, and a "To the top" button could be added to the footer so the visitor could quickly scroll back to the top of the page to interact with the nav bar.
Yes, this would work in a very similar way to accordion panels but I feel it would allow for much more freedom. This would work incredibly well for sites with "News" articles etc. There could even be an option to "Auto-load on scroll" wherein if the user scrolls to the bottom of the visible page, a "loading" icon is displayed until the rest of the content is visible as an automatic response.
Anyone else interested in this feature idea?
