Resize an image for my slider

Hey i am working on a slider for my website, so i resize my image to from 2000x1200px to 2000x478px.

now i my problem that the image is getting the good size, but the image is now flat... the image doesnt look right now.

example...

i have a human in my image so i make to image shorter and wider, now the human looks like a dwarf that is so fat.

is there an easy way to fix this problem i have for my slider.

Use the Crop tool > set it at 200x478.  You are not sizing down proportionately.
