Creating a Custom Shape from a Custom Brush

I created a custom brush of my logo, which uses text and shapes together, I used the brush to bring them together so I can 'paste' it onto photo's I edit, but it, in this case, I need it as a shape. Is there any way to get make it a shape without using the pen tool. I tried doing that but due to the letters, it doesn't look quite right.

Hard to see without seeing the logo or the brush but in general terms :

1. Paint with your logo brush on a layer

2. Make a selection of that painted symbol (the best tool to do that depends on the logo but select color range may work)

3. At the bottom of the path panel  - click to make a path from the selection

4. Use edit define custom shape to save your path as a shape
