Hi everyone,
I'm using adobe acrobat pro, and have used the security feature to password protect the file to restrict editing.
Basically, I don't want anybody copying my work.
But even when I do that, all I have to do is make a copy of the document and all the restrictions are removed for that document.
Is there a better/easier way to stop others from editing/copying my work?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Acrobat remembers the security state of recently opened documents, so if you haven't closed the document, or even if you did and then reopened it, the "owner" security state (which is all permissions) is remembered. To test this you need to close Acrobat first.

Did you save the document?

Yes, I did.
Then, I just did CTRL-C on the document then CTRL-V and when i clicked on the new document, all editing restrictions were gone.
Thanks

Did you close and re-open the document?

That's not normal behavior. Are you sure you're opening the file using Adobe Acrobat? A security policy is not a guarantee that the contents of the file can't be copied, at any rate. Many third-party (and third-rate) applications do not enforce them at all, unfortunately.

You can’t stop your work from being copied. You can’t even make it inconvenient.
