Hello,

What is the best way to extract the object from a photo like this and save it without a background?

I need it to be able to put it on a site of muse or export in illustrator or indesign and I don't need a background.

and then how do I reduce the size es. 500x150 or different, without losing quality?

Thanks.

Hi

To save it with transparency do the following :

1. In the layers panel click on the padlock to change it from a background layer to Layer 0

2. Select the white the quick selection tool will work and use Edit Clear

3. Save in a format that supports transparency - e.g. png

To your second question - reducing pixel size will reduce detail. There is no avoiding that. Crop the image to avoid wasted transparent pixels then use image - size with resample set to Automatic or Bicubic Sharper

Additional suggestions regarding aesthetics:

1.. Rotate the image so that the candy shadows fall below the candy rather than above it

2. Lighten the candy holder.
