Hello Everybody. I am a newbie and am very bad at using Photoshop and Illustrator.
I recently made a new design in Photoshop but the supplier wants my design in Illustrator.
I read online about this and found that all I needed to do was open the .psd file in Adobe Illustrator and then save it as a .ai file.
However, the supplier tells me that "it is still a .jpeg file in ai.".
Please help. I need to do this urgently. !
When your supplier says they want Illustrator, they are telling you they want vector graphics, not pixel or raster graphics. If you created your design with text and shape layers in Photoshop, you can copy and paste that information into Illustrator and basically recreate the layout. There is no simple fix.

See if this answers your questions: How to convert a .psd file into .ai (adobe illustrator)
Also a psd is not a jpeg, unless you saved a lossy jpeg as a psd.

When creating graphics for clients.... logos, icons or anything of that nature then you should always use Illustrator.
Reason being is that Vector files can be enlarged or shrunk without any pixelation. Once I got my Wacom Cintiq Companion 2, I began creating most of my images in Illustrator. Even some of my character art is being done in Illustrator.
Check this out....

This character was completely done in Illustrator... so now she can be enlarged to epic proportions.
Many clients will ask for things to be done in Illustrator, as they may need images to be printed in various sizes.

I'm sorry guys...
I inserted a .jpeg file in my photoshop.
Thanks for the help but my supplier wants me to recreate that .jpeg file.
Is there an easy way for this or do I have to recreate it?

You can trace it (draw over it then delete it)

When you made it in Photoshop, did you draw paths with the pen tool and save them? If so, you can copy and paste those paths into Illustrator. They will come in with no fill or stroke and will need to be formatted in Illustrator. That would give you a start instead of recreating it from scratch.
If you didn't draw and save paths in Photoshop, what was your approach?

Without seeing your design nobody will be able to help you.
Also we will need to know the nature of the output you want to do (a t-shrt? a design on a truck? ...)
And we will need to know the specifications you got from the print service provider.

You might be able to use Image Trace, but how well it converts depends on what your Photoshop design looks like and its resolution. You could try out some different Image Trace settings to see if something works. Here's some info on Image Trace that might help How to edit artwork in Illustrator using Image Trace
