I would like to be able to save .psd files that are bigger than 2gb. Any possibilities that Adobe works on that?
Here's the preference setting itself BTW:

Save them as PSB files. They are large format files for over 2gb.

Thanks Chuck. Still, I am hoping for bigger than 2gb .psd files because .psb files don't show preview in finder.

I’m pretty sure adobe Bridge will show a preview. Have you tried it?

John Ellis has PSB Quicklook for OSX. It will render PSB thumbs at the Finder level.
PSB Quick Look Plugin I'm using it and it does do the job.

There's a Bridge Preference for this: "Do not process files larger than...". The default value is 1GB.
I'm getting a preview for this file:

If it were bigger it wouldn’t be PSD. All software to read PSD files, such as previewer, would fail or crash. Hence Adobe wisely gave The bigger PSD a new name.
