Continually having this problem where Acrobat DC wants to take over my Acrobat 11 Pro app! Every time I load up Acrobat 11 Pro the Acrobat DC auto install dialog box pops up and wants to install the DC version. Getting tired of this, what can be done to eliminate this takeover and leave my Acrobat 11 Pro alone! Always have to repair my Acrobat 11 Pro app every time and fiddling with it to get it going, enough is enough!!

It seems like you were using a trial version of Acrobat XI. Do you have an actual license for it?

According to your first post, you have been using Acrobat Pro XI for a long time, and this message just started. Is that correct? I wonder why it started.

Please answer these questions so we can best help:

  • Do you still have access to your serial number?

  • Please confirm that you have a legitimate copy of Acrobat Pro XI (you infer yes)

  • Did you ever install a trial of XI or DC?

  • When did this start? Do you know of a trigger that made it start?

  • What do you do now to make the alert go away?

  • According to your screen shot, you are on Windows. Which version?

I agree, enough is enough, and I hope we can resolve this soon!

I get a Welcome to Acrobat DC Reader message every time I create a pdf from MS products with Acrobat 2017.  The file gets made and is in the directory, but I have to go through closing and quitting the install for Acrobat DC.  Has been happening for a couple of weeks now.
