Static in recording

I am getting an extreme amount of static in my audio. It is very annoying. I tried using a brand new microphone. I tried recording with the microphone at different distances from my mouth. I moved my software to another PC to see if there was an issue with my PC. I have changed the bitrate settings, encoding frequency settings, and encoding speed settings. Still no better. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Perhaps try using a different application to record? Then import the result into Captivate.

Maybe take a look at Audacity. It's open source and many folks like it.
