Graduated Filter turns photo B&W

When I apply the graduated filter, it always turns the pic B&W, there has to be something I'm missing.

Hi maries44069907,

Which version of Lightroom are you using?

Press "M" to switch to the Graduated filter and then select Reset as shown in the screenshot below to restore the tool settings.

Since this is posted in the Lr CC forum may we assume you are asking about the grad filter in that setting opposed to the one in Lr CC Classic?
