Hi I'm using acrobat reader dc  version 2017.012.20098.

We have an old pdf generator that specifies the Helvetica font. We are having trouble with estimating the width a character will take. I see that Helvetica is no longer included with acrobat reader. What fonts are included with acrobat reader for free and where can I find the metrics for them?

Hi Marenp,

Sorry for the delay in response

You may check this discussion:How do I get "Helvetica" fonts for free when I use indesign by the creative cloud?

And it seems it answer your questions.

Use Helvetica in your PDF. It is still one of the base 14 and Reader must display it with the correct metrics even if it uses another font to do so. Do NOT target the fonts you happen to find in today’s Reader!
