You can tween, have two frames one for the beginning position and one for the stop position. The tween will average the distance between the two by the number of frames you specify.

Or using keyframes you can have a start key frame and an end keyframe and you are done.

The advantage of keyframing is you can move the keyframes to speed up or slow down the animation.  If necessary is more of a non-destructive method. Whereas frames require you to start over with the above if you change your mind.

Well I was going to show you tweening, but some reason, position doesn't seam to be working. Just opacity and that won't do it. Unless you like a skipping animation. show, hide and repeat for next frame.

It looks it would have be done manually which can be a lot of work, depending on the length of the animation required.

Best bet is to stick with keyframing. Especially if you are using a single image.

In the timeline panel click the stopwatch icon next to the position to create the first keyframe

then move the timeline to the location where you want the animation to stop then move the image.

Photoshop will create the second keyframe for you. you can then play the animation and watch it move across the screen.

If the OP wants to do this a Frame Animation, then another method Free Transform Step & Repeat to make the layers, and then Make frames from Layers. You can move, rotate, and resize and object doing it this way.  There are lots of old threads that cover it in detail.

I forget about step and repeat. Thanks for mentioning it. That will speed up the process dramatically.
