Internet Connection and Product Use

Does the internet have to always be connected to use the product?  I ask because I have, at times, lost internet service.

No - always connected is not a requirement.

Photoshop on a monthly plan will work offline for periods up to 30 days and on an annual payment plan , up to 99 days

To download   install and activate you need to be connected.  To keep it activated you need to connect once every three months.
