When I password protect the file I can't send for signature?

So I've read a few posts about this but still can't get it to work. I want to password protect the PDF AND THEN send for signature. Once the file is tagged (SECURE) I cannot send for signature. Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi Tyh,

I see that you have Adobe Acrobat DC subscription which consists of Adobe sign individual account.

So when you use "Send for signature", you actually send the form using the Adobe sign.

It is not possible to upload the secured PDF when you send the form for signature.

If you wish to add the password to the file, you can do it in Adobe Sign account after uploading the file.

For that, open this link Sign In — e-signature and e-sign Software Solution — Adobe Sign and sign in with your Adobe ID and password.

Click the "Send" page or click "Get a Document Signed".

Enter the e-mail address of the signer into the Enter Recipient Email field.

Drag-and-drop, attach or choose a library document to send.

At right, you will find an option to Password protect the form.

Once done, make sure you check the box for "Preview & Add Signature Fields" at the bottom.

Then click Next.

Now, drag fields from the top of the page onto the document.

Click Send.

Check if that helps.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Regards,

Meenakshi
