I have a MacBook Pro and I had Adobe CS6 Master Collection installed and updated for several years until I discovered just recently that I forgot to install the extras for Encore, which I just started to use, I was unable to install them without reinstalling CS6 completely. However, since that time, I have been unable to reinstall Flash Builder 4.6. Each time I get the Exit Code 6 and 88 errors. This time, I tried for the first time to follow Adobe's suggestions on how to correct this issue.

The First error in the list of errors is:

ERROR: DF017: Unable to create Mac alias "/Applications/Adobe Flash Builder 4.6/Adobe Flash Builder 4.6.app/Contents/MacOS/../../../Uninstall Adobe Flash Builder 4.6" referring to "/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Uninstall/{41C543D4-AC29-4B7E-B95D-D73B7EB2EFBB}.app"(Seq 13807)

ERROR: DW063: Command ARKCreateMacAliasCommand failed.(Seq 13807)

I tried using a different location for Flash Builder 4.6. However, I still received the same problem.

I also have been up dating the operating system of my computer and it is now a macOS Sierra Version 10.12.5. However, this never caused a problem using any of adobe programs before.

Here is the complete list of error codes that I have:

Exit Code: 6

Jeff A Wright if this is so helpful, could you please explain how it helps? So far, none of it has helped me in any way at all, I have still the exact same problem. Maybe I am not doing something correctly.

While I am sure this may have helped others in the past, to me it has only caused further frustration. To me it has been more like a farmer needing rain and seeing a cloud, bringing hope without rain, utterly useless!

I need a solution that will work for me!

it's not possible to determine which solution will work for you a priori. you must start with the first (possible) mac solution and try it.  if it fails to solve the problem, try the 2nd.

if you can't follow those solutions or you want to skip to the last resort:

properly* uninstall cs6

clean your computer of cs6 files per Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cs6 files

*

To safely uninstall on Mac OS X, double-click the product installer in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers or double-click the Uninstall alias located in the Application folder. Select Remove Preferences, then Authenticate as an Administrator and follow the onscreen instructions

The only option that I did not try was Solution #8 because it did not state if it was a paid option or not considering it was a CC Drive.

All of the other solutions for the Mac failed to work for my problem!

I did try cleaning all of my CS6 files from my computer using the Creative Cleaner Tool. With this tool I discovered that I still had traces of CS5, CS5.5 and two complete sets of CS6 on my computer. However, now, I am only able to remove one copy of CS6 from my computer using the CC Tool. Most likely, this is why I am having this problem in the first place.

I still have the folders from the second install of CS6 on my computer as well, but the Apps are not there.

It is times like this when I wish that doing a total reformat of my hard drive and a total reinstall of everything was an option! Unfortunately, it is not!

Franz_Buhlmann all of the suggestions that Kglad has offered should allow for the resolution of the current errors.  The heart of the current difficulties you are facing is that the installer does not have the required permissions to complete the installation of Flash Builder.

If you have tried all of the suggestions offered by Kglad and you continue to face file permission failures then I would recommend creating a new local administrator account.  Details on how to set up a new local administrator account on Mac OS can be found at Install or run Adobe applications in new user account | Mac OS X.

If you continue to face errors can you please post the most recent errors from the installation log to this discussion?

If you have any questions on any of the steps previously offered by Kglad please update this discussion.  If you can post a screen shot of where you may be facing any points of confusion it would be helpful.  Details on how to post a screen shot can be found at FAQ: How do I capture and post a screen shot or video?.

I have done everything as well as I could!

I was unable to find a file named "AdobeHelp.air", however, I did find one named "adobe help". Hopefully, it was the file of Solution #5.

For Solution # 7, I was forced to use the program "BatChmod" in order to change the permission for "everyone". The computer refused to give me access otherwise!

The only thing that I have not tried is Adobe Drive, since Flash Builder is not one of the Applications mentioned in the list.

Before you suggested creating a new admin account on my computer, I did try this on a second admin account that I have already, without any change. However, I did try creating a new account, still no change!

I did discover that Flash Builder appears to fully install at about 96% with about a minute remaining. At this point, even the folder has the icon of the Flash Builder App. However, I do not see the uninstall in the folder like in the other apps! Then as fast as the folder takes on the image of the icon, it disappears and then everything starts vanishing!

Screen Shot 2017-06-27 at 2.09.56 AM.png

By the way, I did attempt providing write privileges in the /Library and /Application Support folders. However, for some reason, I am unable to do so.

I also keep getting the exact same errors. The only difference is that now that I have changed the name of the Flash Builder Folder, the new one does end up getting removed. I do not know if this is related or not, but this last attempt, I noticed that there was about a 15 GB difference from what my computer says that I have on my hard drive and the amount of space that the installer says says that I have left.

Here is the list of error that I receive each time.

Screen Shot 2017-06-27 at 2.06.46 AM.png

In all of my attempts of fixing this problem, I have attempted to totally removing CS6 and the old files from CS5 & CS5.5 from my computer with Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. So far, nothing has totally removed everything from my computer. I have a stand alone copy of Acrobat and several apps refused to leave my computer even though CCC Tool says they are all gone. But this problem with Flash Builder started long before this!

Thanks for the update Franz_Buhlmann.  I still see file permission failures under the most recent installation attempt.

I would recommend you begin backing up your documents and settings.  You can then try the installation one final time and this time I would recommend suspending any installed security software.

If you continue to see failures to write, to  the required locations, then I would recommend reinstalling Mac OS and restoring the required documents and settings from your back up.

I would recommend bookmarking Installing Creative Suite on macOS 10.12 (Sierra) as you will need to utilize this workaround when reinstalling on the fresh installation of macOS 10.12.5.

I have the same trouble with installing Flash Builder 4.6 on Mac Pro OSX Sierra 12.5.

I am upgrading from CS6 Web & Design Premium to Master Collection.

Flash Builder 4.6 will not install on OSX Sierra. (in my case 10.12.5)

Everything looks fine including the app and all folders until the last minute, then all vanishes and an error happens.

No problems with any other part of the CS6 Master Collection.

NOTE: ZERO PROBLEMS installing on to Yosemite 10.10.5.

Installing Creative Suite on macOS 10.12 (Sierra)

Question...

Has anybody tried disabling SIP when using the above listed fixes?

Recovery Partition Terminal commands are:

csrutil disable

csrutil enable

Those Terminal commands can only be used when booted on the Recovery Partition.

For a Mac Pro, simply restart holding down Command R.

This boot method can be slightly different for different Mac models such as iMac and Laptop.

In every case, booting into the Recovery Partition works best if no internet is connected.

(obsessions with "auto everything" can have your Mac booting from the internet instead of Recovery Partition)

Another way is to simply hold down the Option key when restarting and choose the Recovery Partition.

Launch Terminal (from the Menu) once booted on Recovery Partition and type in csrutil disable followed by the return key.

You will get a message stating that these changes require a restart.

Quit Terminal and Restart.

Pretty simple.

Don't forget to repeat the procedure and type in csrutil enable followed by the return key to restore SIP once finished.

Otherwise your built in protection will remain disabled.

(System Integrity Protection, SIP)

Let me know if this helps.

After much head banging...

Here is your answer.

Download Flash Builder 4.6 separately / individually.

Adobe - Adobe Flash Builder 4 : For Macintosh : Flash Builder 4.6 - Mac OS

Installation will be refused in OSX Sierra AS USUAL.

Go to System Preferences / Security & Privacy and choose open anyway.

(installer will now launch)

Here is the last critical part.

This "fix" assumes you already have a legal version of CS6 or CS5 installed.

(in other words serialized)

The installer will not accept your serial number... ok.

Install as a trial.

IF.... your software is serialized.... Flash Builder 4.6 will serialize itself upon launch.

(if you are not serialized, I can't help)

As it all works out, Sierra has a problem with the Master Collection installer when it comes to Flash Builder.

This separate downloaded version is the solution. (I tried everything else including SIP disable)
