lightroom cc help - photos disappearing??

So basically my version of Lightroom cc (currently running on my Mac book air) doesn't register the images I already had on there. Even when I add them , they disappear and I can't find them. On top of this, I can't even close my app to uninstall it (obviously to reinstall). Any ideas?

Use 'Force Quit' to close the app if 'Quit' is frozen.
