If I try and export over a1000 images through lightroomCC now I will usually only get 700 or so in the final folder when export has finished. It seems to skip various files in the sequence . Its a new catalog just for that particular shoot. It sometimes won't even find the new folder although you can find it in the finder so it is there?
Any ideas?

I remember a few versions back, there was a problem with "monitoring" programs (real-time AV scans, file browsers, etc) interfering with the exports. (It is too far back for me to remember the details.)
Mac or Windows? Which version?
Which exact version of Lightroom?
What is the exact wording of any error message you get?
I have never tried exporting more than 300 files or so in one batch.

Mav Version. Latest software and no error message. Just doesn't have all images export. I shoot a lot of time lapse so exports can be pretty big

Please do Help > System Info and report the exact version number. Unfortunately, the LR updater is unreliable and often fools people into thinking they're on "the latest version" when they're not.

That was a bug in LR CC 2015.0 / 6.0, fixed in 2015.1.1 / 6.1.1: Lightroom 6: Does not export all selected images | Photoshop Family Customer Community
Steve's issue is likely something different.
