Hello:

I am currently using Adobe Acrobat DC to bates number documents.  In the output options, I an selecting the operation "Replace file names with starting and ending bates number (eg 0000001 - 0000100.pdf)" however this operation does not work.  Each time, I get the error message that the files are either read only or that someone else is working with the files in another location.  This is not the case.  This does not work if I overwrite the existing files nor if I choose an alternative output location.  I am looking to get feedback as to why this operation in DC doesn't work and for what I would need to do in order to be able to perform this.

Thank you!

Hi Dean,

Could you share Acrobat DC version and operating system installed on the machine? You may refer to the steps given in this link on how to check the version in Acrobat: Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC

Thanks,

Shivam
