Acrobat DC crashing

When exporting to pdf from inDesign it freezes Acrobat and inDesign at 'Finishing document' stage. Acrobat also crashing when trying to open a pdf. Running mac os 10.13.2 and Acrobat 2018.009.20050

We apologize for the inconvenience caused, as per the description above, Acrobat Pro DC is crashing in Mac machine, Is that correct?

Please refer to the following KB doc and try the suggestions Troubleshoot Mac OS 10.x system errors, freezes | Adobe software  Link: https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/troubleshoot-system-errors-freezes-mac.html

Try resetting the preferences of Acrobat Pro DC, to reset the preferences, please refer to How to reset Acrobat Preference settings to default. Link: https://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-8511

Reboot the machine and see if this brings any difference.

If the issue still persists, please use Acrobat cleaner tool to remove the Acrobat Pro DC Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs Link: https://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html?22

Reboot the machine and install Acrobat Pro from Download Pro or Standard versions of Acrobat DC, 2017, XI, or X  Link: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html

I have tried the above and still having issues. It doesn't happen all the time and seems to happen when creating interactive pdfs. I have InDesign set to open pdf on export. It freezes indesign and acrobat. If I force acrobat to close then inDesign unfreezes itself. It actually creates the pdf and seems to crash when trying to open the pdf.

An update of Acrobat and Reader is available, please check for the updates from Help>Check for updates. You can also download the updates manually from Link: https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/index.html

Reboot the machine after the installation of updates.
