Strange problem; when I'm working in the keywords part, my imac logs off automatically after 2 seconds.... So strange. I reinstall my system, reinstall LR, disable all my plug inss, have all the newe versions of everything but the problem keeps me awake.... who can help me to tackle this?
Thanks all of you, the catalog was the RAM eater. With a new catalogue, my problems (with LR) are gone!

We need some more information:
- Your OS version
- Your exact (numbers, not latest or alike) version of LR
- The type of your graphic card
- Are there any other applications that behave strange

Mac OS high Sierra 10.13.3
LIGHTROOM 7.1 - camera raw. 10.1
Radeon Pro 555 2 GB
Lightroom is the only one who has a strange behavior and only when I fill in the keywords. I reinstall Lightroom and disabled all the plug inns. Everything is up to date.

Please try if it helps to reset the preferences: Resetting Preferences in Lightroom CC/6
These are NOT reset with a remove and new installation.

As Edward already said, it looks more like a hardware issue.
I'd suggest to test the RAM with some tool or even better replace the RAM just for testing purpose.

What exactly do you mean by "My iMac logs off after 2 seconds".
If your Mac is restarting or you are Logged Off your Mac, Not LR, then this is a computer problem. More than likely a overheating problem or some other computer problem.

I reinstall my iMac, which is only 6 month old, I spoke 3! hours in several sessions with the Mac/ apple helpdesk. Because the problem is only in Lightroom (also when I start my iMac in the morning and it is still cold) and only when I adjust keywords, it seems to be a bug in Lightroom.... although I reinstall everything. I think I have to call the apple helpdesk again.... who are very kind, the upper senior advisor was very helpful... but without result until now. More suggestions are still welcome

There were similar reports, and they were fixed after changing the RAM for instance ... it's worth a try.

For testing purpose: Can you open LR, create a new catalog, import a few images and work with keywords the way it usually crashes.
Does it also crash with this new catalog?

Then the real problem is you are running out of hard drive space.
But I've never seen LR use so much RAM.
What exactly are you doing and how long has LR been running when you see that much RAM being used.

I suspect there is something going bogus in the DB (without having LR to crash) as soon as she works on the keywords and that's what hogs as much RAM as it can get. I wonder if the catalog is somehow the source and a new catalog is working.

To fix it you can try to export your corrupt catalog as a new one, or import from the corrupt catalog into the new one.
