Try ALT + 0128

You must use the Numeric keypad to type it.

You might want to check the Accessories -> System Tools -> Character Map for more details. It should give you the key MAPPING for your particular kind of keyboard.

Sorry Harm, but CTRL+ALT+5 does not work (on my azerty keyboard)

for a € I use the ALT GR+E

the moment I use CTRL, the textfield changes from inputting text to selecting the border of the textfield

and CTRL+ALT+5 gives no result (nor any other number)

I use CS5 english version

what do you do with a querty to type €?

CTRL+ALT+5 works for US International keyboards. Apparently not for other keyboards.

Dear Valter_Vilar, do you really type ALT + 0128 every time you need to make this symbol?
I tried setting a keyboard shortcut for it in Illustrator CC (WIndows) but if I try to insert the symbol to set it it just enters the "V"since I can only paste it in like that. Simply put It looks like there is no alternative way for me to type the € symbol.

They didn't apply to me either but i found this works!

1. Copy the euro symbol from google

2. Go to type

3. Alt + E

4.There must be a window now with actions , press paste.
