I keep getting the error dialogue "Could not use move tool because of a program error." when using the latest photoshop cc 2018.
The error log says this:

..\..\sources\UMoveTool.cpp : 1911 : REQUIRE failed

Not sure if related but also dragging files on windows explorer gets disabled after this error.

I am using a Yiynova tablet MVP22U.

Anyone know a solution for this?

Hi Hologrammonster,

As you're getting a program error while trying to use the Move Tool, could you please let us know which exact version of photoshop are you using? You can check that by going to Help > System Info.

Also, please let us know which operating system are you working on?

Could you try updating the Tablet drivers and see if that helps.

If the above suggestion doesn't work then please try resetting the preferences of Photoshop & let us know if it works?

Sahil

Thank you for sharing the information, could you please let us know does it give you any error if you unplug the tablet then use the mouse instead?

Also, please let us know did it use to work with any previous version of Photoshop?

Would suggest you to do a clean re-installation of Photoshop using this cleaner tool and let us know if it works after that: Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems

The fact is that we have already changed 3 computers, including using iMac and always had a crash of Photoshop while saving projects. On the current computer, the drivers were completely reinstalled, deleted using the DDU, and then reinstalled. And the clean installation of Photoshop 2018 did not fix this problem. Now the crash happens at random moments. Of course, we will try again to remove the photoshop with your cleaning tool, but I'm afraid the problem is in something else.

Having the same problem - some layers get randomly 'blocked', and when I try to move them I get a program error. Closing PS and opening it again fixes it, but still - pretty annoying!

This happens to me a lot lately,

The only solution i have is by pressing cmd/ctrl + T so you can nudge your layer again.
