I recently had my computer serviced. I had a new hard drive and a new video card installed yesterday. Today the previews will not generate. I have downloaded 207 RAW photos and they downloaded fine but now while it is Building 1:1 previews it is showing no progress in the upper left hand side. Also as I attempt to cycle through the photos they are perpetually "Loading...".
I am running LIghtroom Classic CC Version 7.2 on a Dell PC with Windows 7
I used to be able to chat with someone at Adobe but I am not finding that option now so I am hoping to find some answers here before I get busy.
I am not using the new hard drive for Lightroom could the slow down be due to lack of space and if so, why now when it was working before it was serviced?

same here.
After updating to 7.2 lightroom won´t render 1:1 previews.
I don´t think it has to do with servicing your computer.
My machine hasn´t changed, but after updating to 7.2 things got a lot worse.

Well after waiting all night for it to close and it never did and then having to go end task for Lightroom and I rebooted it and it's working for now. I'm keeping my fingers crossed

Do you have tried to deactivate the GPU support? In several cases it has helped.
Preferences -> Performance -> Uncheck GPU, then restart Lightroom.

I am not seeing that option under performance is it the Use Graphics Processor option? I currently have that disabled.

Yes
It was the Reboot that fixed that problem. You shouldn't see it again. If you do just restart your system.

Reboot is often necessary after any updating of programs etc. When my wife comes to me and says "there is something wrong with my computer", I say "have you rebooted"? So she goes and reboots and problem gone! So my three LR problem-solving tips would be:-
1 Reboot
2 Turn off GPU 'enhancement'
3 Turn off render previews in parallel unless you have a fast computer with lots of resources.
4 Render all your standard previews before starting to work on the images.
5 If you are going to need 1:1 previews, render them all before starting work on them.
I put 4 & 5 in because you don't want LR trying to render previews in the background while you are trying to edit images.
6 Don't run other programs in the background while using LR; they take up resources that may slow LR.
7 If you are using a laptop, get a desktop!!!
