Magnetic Lasso Tool Crashes Photoshop CC 18

MacOS High Sierra 10.13.3  (Updated this morning)

As soon as I select the tool from the Tool Bar, the program crashes and closes the window. This is a tool I haven't used in a while, so I cannot be certain it has anything to do with the OS upgrade this morning. I have deleted the Photoshop Preferences file, and the program continues to crash.

Search showed one other recent compliant on this same issue. (On Windows).

Any answers yet?

Hi ommvc61,

Sorry for the crash with Magnetic Lasso and Photoshop CC 2018.

This is a bug that should be fixed in the 19.1.1 update.

More info on this fix and other fixes included in the 19.1.1 update here: Fixed issues in Adobe Photoshop CC

To update: Look at the Creative Cloud desktop application for the update to Photoshop and install that.

That should get you back up and running without the crash.

For background, this crash would happen when using the Magnetic lasso in addition to using the Precise cursor (activated either by Caps Lock being on, or Precise cursor set in Photoshop's Preferences > Cursors).

Let us know if the update fixes it for you.
