I can’t seem to get something to attached so I can show an example of what I am meaning. But I am referencing edits that teams use on their social medias. I want to say they are vector shapes. I can’t seem to figure out how they use these custom shapes to get exactly what they are doing. If anyone knows of any videos or descriptions it would be greatly appreciated.

Need more information? Are you referring to the custom shape tool?

To draw a parallelogram just use the rectangle shape tool to draw a rectangle:

The Edit >Transform Path >Skew and drag the handle at the top

To clip an image to it, add the image above the layer and Alt Click on the border between the two in the layers panel

To add a drop shadow - right click on the rectangle shape and choose Blending Options and in the dialogue add a drop shadow ( or other layer effect )

I hope that gets you started

There are several different techniques being used to create these compositions, and each technique could have multiple approaches. If you're looking for somewhere to start, I'd recommend looking into an Adobe Stock template like this: 12 Social Media Banner Layouts. Buy this stock template and explore similar templates at Adobe Stock... . When you use a template, you can check out the layer styles, layer masks, blend modes, etc. to see how it was made and pick up some tips for making your own images.
