Photoshop CC 2018 9.1.1: Image changes not appearing on screen or in layers panel

When making any sort of change to any of my images, there is at best a lag, at worst, nothing happens at all. I cannot select pixels. Only half of my filters and actions produce any sort of result. I can copy a layer, but when I do, the layer preview in the layers panel appears blank, even if the copy is successfully made.

From time to time I can get an action to show up when I move on to making another edit, but that doesn't happen every time.

I'm on a iMac (Retina 5K, late 2015) with 1TB Fusion Drive available - running High Sierra version 10.13.3.

I have deleted all Photoshop preference files, uninstalled the app, reinstalled it and restarted the computer, checked and unchecked "Use Graphics Processor," and "Show Start Workspace When No Documents Are Open" - nothing seems to solve any of the problems.

I just upgraded to Photoshop CC from Photohshop 6 and am finding it (at least this version) to be absolutely unusable.

Use CC 2018 menu help>System Info copy and paste the info here. Some Mac user may be able to see something in there

I run that very version on a 2012 Macbook Pro.10.13.3 and your rig is much better than that.

First thing that comes to mind are multiple monitors. Are you using those?

As a troubleshooting step, disable the GPU under Photoshop > Preferences > Performance and see if things improve.

It's such a mystery! Not hooked up to any external monitors. I have quite a bit of RAM/memory as my computer is virtually new and has few programs other than the Adobe Suite even installed. I've tried closing all other programs while working. I have also already tried disabling the GPU - doesn't seem to change anything. Yesterday after some experimenting, I realized I can (sometimes) see my work if I add a new layer, then click into that new layer. As soon as I click the new layer the last edit I made appears. It's a temporary (and frustrating) workaround, but obviously, unacceptable for the long-term.

I honestly do not know enough about the 5k at this point to give you a useful answer, so let's try installing an earlier version (part of your membership) and see if it works. Let me know if that helps. Try the latest CC 2017 and move downward of that version does not work.

I'm not a mac user I do not see anything bad offhand in there. Make sure you have installed all of Apples updates for your model mac. Apple seems to control what devices drivers allowed to be installed on mac machines. The Problem may be related to your mac model and osx version you using. Hopefully someone with good Mac knowledge can help you.
