photoshop error

I can not get raw files into photoshop without getting an error that says "Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this type of file."

This also happens if I try and go through Lightroom??? I have never had this issue and these are files that I have already run through Raw, Lightroom and Photoshop. I have done all the current updates but started having an issue a couple of days ago.  Any suggestions?

I've had not had an issue until a couple of days ago. Until then everything has been working fine (for years)
