I am using PHOTOSHOP CS6 and have installed this plug-in on my machines, but RAW files for the D-850 continue NOT to be recognized ?
We have moved on from CS6, and are now at DNG - ADOBE Refs: ADB-932648-K0B8 CRM:00061000065234/68779.
NIKON D-850 RAW Files will NOT open in DNG on Mac OS 10.11.6 or Mac OS as stated previously in 3. on 2/3 above.
What Mac OS are you using - You didn't say previously.

Adobe has stopped the support for PhotoShop CS6 and there will be no more upddates for new cameras.
You can download the DNG converter and convert the RAW files into the DNG format or you have to change to the newer version of Photoshop, ex. the photography plan

In fact you are mistaken - DNG + Plug-ins will NOT open D-850 RAW Files on Mac OS 10.11.6 and 10.13.2.
It looks like you are relying on ADOBE hearsay and your PC knowledge, rather than the reality of Mac experience.

Notwithstanding your rudeness, check and tell us the version of Canera Raw you installed. Or don’t.

Some things do not go together. You wrote you have installed Photoshop CS6. This version doesn't support Camera RAW versions newer than 9.1.1 !! Refer here: Camera Raw plug-in installer

Having received a TOTAL lack of Mac Support/Customer Service from ADOBE, I was surprised to be told, that staff are NOT allowed to tell jokes - Why is this, when the Service received from ADOBE is nothing but a Joke ???

barrih, this is all very simple and there's no need for the generally unpleasant attitude. Please check that at the door.

You need to read my "moving on" previous posting, as it looks like another response from a PC user, with NO Mac experience.
Due to the ongoing Cowboy culture at ADOBE, I will be cancelling my Photoshop CC subscription.

Did you use Nikon Transfer to get your Nikon D850 nefs from camera to computer?
The reason i ask is Nikon Transfer is known to corrupt the Nikon nef files in such a way that adobe camera raw or dng converter won't open them.

Thank you for getting back to me ….
I am use Mojave .. 10.14, Photoshop Elements 19,
In organizer there are no photo’s showing, just the square with the hour-glass. As I converted a catalogue .. all the tags came over .. just no photo in the grid mode. When I click on the photo square or click on editor .. the photo will come out after a minute. So the photo is there .. it is not showing up in organizer except in the full frame mode.
Ref. Import … I have imported, but I use the import feature that comes with elements .. and am using elements 19 as I have in the past.

Oh … was thinking maybe I could increase memory usage in elements, remember in previous releases it was possible …

The problem is more likely to be going to Mojave before apps are ready.

Understand the thought process for the response… but
Got elements 18 prior to Mojave and had the same problem. The d850 raw just does not appear to work with adobe. Was hoping with Mojave as well as elements 19 that issue would be resolved.
Am hoping Adobe knows there is a problem and is working to resolve. Not sure where to take this issue.

You're in the main Photoshop forum, for Photoshop CC users. A few might have Photoshop Elements, but you may have better luck going to the specialist forum Photoshop Elements . Be sure to mention both the old and new version and system experience, it's important.

Dear Jeff,
I have Mac OS 10.11.6.
and Photoshop CC 2017.0.1
Have just purchased a Nikon 850 and need to open the raw files.
When I click on the link to download the plug in it takes me to the site where it seems I have to download the Photoshop CC again.
Is this correct?
Please advise how to proceed to download the plug in.
Thank you.

Mchele.
You should be able to update the camera raw plugin to 10.5 by opening the Creative Cloud Desktop application in
/Applications/Adobe Creative Cloud
or using Help>Updates from within photoshop
then under Apps scroll down to Camera Raw CC.
You should also see an update available for photoshop cc 2017

Thank you very much Jeff!
It seems I did not have the last version of most apps so as soon as I had dowloaded all and opened them again it worked!
Now I have another question.
I also have a Mac Book Pro with Mac Os 10.9.5 with Photoshop CSS extended version 12.0.4x64
Having the same problem for opening the NEF files from the Nikon 850.
Is there an upgrade or plug in for that Photoshop or should I download PhotoshopCC if it is compatible?
