When I insert a mark-up using dc on my laptop it inserts a caret character where the edit is to be made. I would like to do the same thing on my ipad. Is there a way to have the caret character inserted at the edit point? I only seem to be able to insert a comment bubble which I then have to go back and change on my laptop for uniformity sake. Any guidance you have would be greatly appreciated.
Adobe Acrobat Pro DC only installs and runs on Windows and MacOS. It does not install or run on either iOS or Android devices. On your iPad, you have Adobe Acrobat Reader Mobile installed. It is a small subset of the functionality of the software that runs on Windows and MacOS and there are many functions and options that are simply not available on the free, mobile product. Sorry!

It’s a pity yes. A touch screen Mac would be nice (I think the toy iPad will fade away or merge). But right now Apple make more money selling two different systems.

An iPad isnt a Mac and can’t run Mac software. Only the stuff in the iPad App Store. Apple marketing makes it seem more useful than it is. By contrast a Surface Pro is a full Windows conputer.
