Dreamweaver 5.5 is not supported for Windows 10.

You may want to consider upgrading.

Is Adobe Creative Cloud compatible with Windows 10?

It may just be certain updates of Win10 that CS5.5 won't work.  I've got Win10 on an air-gapped network, isolated from the internet so no updates can be applied, and CS5.5 works just fine.

Meanwhile i found the solution, just rename the Designer.xml to something else and start Dreamweaver new, all works fine now again also with WIN 10 😉

Rename your personal Configuration folder to something like Configuration-old and restart Dreamweaver.
