I have a print ready double page spread book manuscript in InDesign. Odd page numbers appear on lower right of right hand pages. Even page numbers appear on lower left of left hand pages. Fine.

Printer requires single page layout, but when exported to pdf, all page numbers appear on the lower left of each page. How do I change page number positioning to their original layout, so the printed output is as originally designed?

To accomplish the single page layout, are you changing the InDesign file to a singled-sided document first?

Leave it as double-sided, and choose Single Page Layout in File > Export > Adobe PDF (Print).
