Running latest version of x64 Photoshop (as of update installed today March 13th 2018) and still have this remaining problem whereby the file "New" dialog is not working unless you revert to the legacy option and also the startup page is not working (again you have to revert to the old style without the splash screen showing thumbnails of what youve been working on etc.) I've tried uninstalling photoshop twice using windows uninstaller and the adobe cleaner - but every time, it reverts back to this behaviour after the reinstall. how do i get these 2 items to work again ??  Today i saw there was an update through the CC app - i just let that do its thing - but still no luck here.

windows 10 64bit Version 16299.248 Build 1709

that link seems to be for uninstalling and reinstalling the CC Desktop App.

Anyhow, in the end I contacted support and they managed to solve the situation by doing what i had done before (clean install of Photoshop) but also they did something with the registry - I guess deleted certain keys. That did the trick.

This worked for Illustrator

Had the same problem.  Not an issue with your OS or your Machine.

Close Illustrator.  Open the C:/ drive>program files 86>common files>Adobe>CEP

Cut the CEP folder and paste on desktop.

Restart Illustrator

Worked for me.

I then deleted the folder and all was well.
